"I want to be a one-term president because of stability. I would not stay a day longer than four years... even with a gun in my head." — Peter Obi

A region that hasn't produced a head of government since Aguiyi Ironsi wants to do only 4 years? Unbelievable. This man has an hidden agenda and that alone is scarier than Tinubu completing his second term. |

Obi has made it clear that he is not too desperate to be a president, rather he is desperate to see a Nigeria that is working. He wants a Nigeria where an okada rider can become a senator as long as he has something upstairs. A Nigeria where public funds are not sent on personal luxuries. He has demonstrated all before. Your president is the Lagos state landlord while Mr Peter Obi is a business man who just have one house in Onitsha. He rejected land gift and shunned pensions for past Governors. His record with World Bank and reforms educationally as a Governor has proven that he is the best man for the job. Yet, he has been busy dishing out millions to support schools from his personal pocket. Show me Tinubu charity gifts when he was not in power, but we saw bullion van during election going to his house. THE ANGER OF TINUBU SUPPORTERS IS THAT THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING AGAINST OBI. Obi is a million times better than Tinubu. Tinubu has no clear plans for Nigeria. He keeps rewarding politicians who decided to identify with him with positions irrespective of their incompetency. Taskmaster aka Mr Borrow Borrow. He keeps borrowing with nothing to show for it. The question is this, 'Where is the exess money from the removed petrol? '. Instead, he keeps borrowing at the expense of the masses. |

Favorflavour:Saying the truth and keeping promises seem to scare some of you because you’re used to politicians who say one thing and do the opposite. I can understand where you’re coming from, in a country where honesty and accountability in leadership have become rare, integrity now looks strange. Peter Obi is simply reminding Nigerians that he is not desperate for power. Politics should not be a do or die affair, it should not be a grab it, snatch it, and run away with it affair. Leadership is about service, not conquest. And yes, four years is enough to begin turning things around with purposeful leadership, discipline, and competence. After all, if Tinubu’s administration could plunge the country deeper into debt, worsen inflation, increase hardship, weaken the naira, deepen insecurity, and leave Nigerians battling constant electricity issues within a short period, then meaningful recovery within four years is absolutely achievable with the right leadership and dedication. |

This is the last opportunity for Nigerians to elect a credible President that will revamp Nigeria and lay foundation for Nigeria's greatness just like Nelson Mandela did for South Africa. A competent, honest and focused President does not need 8 years to change Nigeria for good....he doesn't need 8 years to lay the necessary foundations and embark on meaningful projects and policies that every Nigerian including those on the streets can see and feel the impact! Only criminals see government position as opportunity to loot and they need plenty tenures to cover their looting tracks and to perfect how to install stooges that will cover their criminal and looting records in order to evade probe after they leave office! If we miss Peter Obi, it may take Nigeria another century to get someone like him....no jokes here. Forget about the stale talk of what did he do in Anambra bla bla bla...if you consider where Anambra a baby state was coming from when Obi governed Anambra, then you will know that he did wonders.... Nigeria need a detribalized, zero corruption, frugal and honest President, not a President who see only his tribesmen as the best and worthy people to occupy juicy government positions to cover up his looting tracks......not a President that his children, wife, relatives, friends, associates and colleagues are all expert politicians who have mastered the act of politics and looting government money with big big white elephant projects they use to deceive gullible Nigerians!! ![]() |

All the struggles, bullying, noises, drama, defections, donations, and past failures for one term. Not a rational adventure. And with the way he and his supporters claim Nigeria has deteriorated, he must a magician or a god of some sort to be able to fix it with one term. Unless the plan was never to fix or maybe he and his followers are knowingly exaggerating the problems of Nigeria or maybe the one term promise is a whole lie.

It took thieefnnubu less than the time to finish his Presidential inauguration speech at eagle square to plunge millions of Nigerian households into extreme poverty, four years is more than enough for an objective technocrat like Obi to remove the shackles and slave chains before placing this country into the right trajectory. Come 2031 we will need an experienced administrator like Rabiu Kwankwaso to finish the job and place us in the right economic orbit. It will be like 2011 Nigeria when Obj left and Yar adua came on board.Nigeria was very sweet then... |

4 years is enough to do great works. Buhari did 8years and Nigeria didn't get better. Tinubu has done just 4 years and he is already worse than Buhari. Another 4years to Tinubu is a disaster |

I support Tinubu yo win a second term so atleast his reforms can take root. I also have one reservation about Obi, seeing Anambra, there was nothing spectacular he did at the time. HOWEVER, OBI’s CLAIMS TO STABILIZING NIGERIA IN 4 YEARS MIGHT NOT BE WORNG. Why? 1. Igbos as a major tribe in Nigeria deserves a shot at presidency to ease the civil war injuries. 2. As an Igbo man, correcting the lopsided Nigerian structure that gives undue advantage to the North especially at the National Assembly and MDGs should be on his mind. 3. Igbos have been taunted with not really wanting a break from Nigeria. Well, OBI’s emergence should seal the decision on whether to secede or stay as OBI’s ascendancy becomes the easiest route to doing that, so those that feel Igbos are reason for Nigeria’s bad reputation can now have a stable Nigeria without Igbos. Don’t get me wrong, I love Nigeria. |

| Re: Peter Obi: I Want To Be A One-Term President Because Of Stability by Ofunaofu: 9:45am On May 14*. Modified: 10:03am On May 14 |
I honestly don’t understand why Peter Obi’s one term of four years pledge is being overflogged as though he said something unusual. Even the constitution provides four years per term, with a maximum of two terms. So, if Peter Obi says he intends to serve just one term of four years, why should that be a problem? The real question should be: is four years enough to make a meaningful impact on Nigerians and national development? Of course, it is. If it didn’t take up to four years for Tinubu’s administration to plunge the country into unprecedented debt, inflict untold hardship, worsen inflation and insecurity, and leave Nigerians battling persistent electricity blackouts, then four years is certainly enough to create positive change and meaningful development. The debate shouldn’t be about the length of the tenure, but the impact of the tenure. |

Obi is just desperate, there is no tangible improvement he can make in 4 years. He is just after the badge and loot the economy. No president has been able to solve Nigeria's perennial problems in 8 years, let alone 4 years |
