If I'm to advise you properly, go to a police station, make a report. Then visit your bank to have it reversed. The reason is that, just in case the money is a ransom or proceeds of a crime, if and when the authorities get involved, you would not suffer for what you know nothing about.

Just my 2 cents.

Maybe is from old customer or a mistake.... someone sent 50k twice to my account and I were curious to know the sender...I copied the number, call the sender and after thorough interrogation I realized it's was my customer...I returned the money to him

Go to your bank to report the transaction and get it documented in peace if it is a huge some.... Lest it is a proceed from fraud or crime

I saw the screenshot it’s opay now people are doing mistake sending money to wrong acct recently with fintech bank because of phone number this week only I did mistake 3 times
If person call you and they show screenshot and prove its there money and wrongly send send their money back

Some account that is not phone nymber are difficult

All this bank with phone numbers have do something getting court order for reversal is huge

Don't mind people. It's your account and you didn't force any transaction to be credited into it. Normally if you are in a situation in need of money and no one is contacting you concerning the money after a little time wait and the payment method is not linked to a name.... It's fine for me to use it and have backup to pay back incase of anything. Remember God works in mysterious ways and life remains a mystery. Money might just be a mysterious grant into your life

From the little experience as one time bank worker.
If the sender remembers, he will definitely report to his/her bank with a court order, thereafter his/her bank will mail op bank and op account will be liened for that said amount. After investigation and the sender is found credible, op bank will inform op before sending back the money through op account with the similar narration of which the sender used. If money inside op account no reach and op refuses to pay up, op account will remain liened and his bvn will be blacklisted.

1. Like sum could be lien on his account pending recovery of the total sum.
2. Account will be placed on PND (debit be it transfer or withdrawal from the account would be blocked).
3. BVN could be watchlisted, this only happen in extreme cases and when fraud is the underlying issue.

Government will never pay into your Opay account, so the money is not from the government. Perhaps was mistakenly sent to you or the money was stolen from someone's account or trying to use you to launder the money for them.

This is what you should do. Don't spend it, keep it till you receive a call or message from the sender. Contact Opay to get the account detail of the sender. And return the money back ( remember to do that only when the sender call and acknowledge the error ) never send it to another account, don't make that mistake sending it to another account no matter the plead from the sender.

Exactly what I was going to say. You can fix it briefly. It will not yield much o but it won't be easily within your reach, and when the real owner surfaces, liquidate it and return their money. Don't return money to anyone without any verifiable evidence that the money came from them.

Go to your bank IMMEDIATELY report the matter, they will advise you on how to refund the money !
If you get a private call to refund the money with or without a promise to compensate you...please DO NOT corporate, go to your bank and if necessary report to the police...
You might be getting baited by kidnappers, thieves or money launderers....DO NOT FALL FOR IT be warned bro!
