Got a refusal for spousal dependent visa. Reason was that we didn’t provide enough evidence. We’ve know for like 3 yrs but we became serious last yr ending then got married (court wedding) this yr and applied. During the application we stated we’ve knw for 3yrs but most of our supporting documents is from last yr ending as we don’t have anything documented the previous yrs as we weren’t serious. How do I do a fresh application that will be convincing |

Amliving:Unfortunately due to many fake and sham marriages you will need to prove that yours is not one of them. Here are common documents UKVI accepts to show a genuine and subsisting relationship for a partner dependent visa. Include as many as apply to your situation. - Marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate (and divorce decrees if applicable) - Previous marriage/civil partnership certificates for both parties (if relevant) - Evidence of living together (cohabitation) - Tenancy or mortgage documents in both names or a joint tenancy agreement - Utility bills (gas/electric/water/telecom) in both names or at the same address - Council Tax bills in both names - Bank statements showing the same address for both parties - Joint bank accounts or financial investments - Pensions or life insurance policies naming both parties - Sharing of major household expenses (receipts, transfers, or payments) - National Insurance/employment letters showing the same address or partner details (where available) - Evidence of regular contact over time: letters, cards, emails, phone calls and messages - Travel records showing trips together (plane/train tickets, hotel bookings) - Photos together over time with captions or dates - Statements or letters from family and friends confirming the relationship (third-party affidavits or statutory declarations) - Birth certificates of children naming both partners - Parental responsibility documents or documents showing joint parenting - Shared insurance policies (home, contents, life, health) naming both - Wills or end-of-life documents referencing each other - Any official correspondence addressed to both at the same address (e.g., NHS, P60s, tax documents, hospital etc) |

giselle237:Good morning Giselle Could you please give your opinion on this? I'm planning to go to the UK for my OSCE exam via self sponsorship for 5 days . I currently earn 350k take home and spend 80-100k monthly which brings my savings to 250k monthly. At the time of application, i will have a balance of 3.9million and I plan to spend between 1.6m - 2m for my travel expenses ( Airbnb, flight, feeding etc ). Is this a good plan or what can i do to have a better chance of getting the visa? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 5:38pm On May 17 |
Younglami:There’s nothing you can do about your circumstances. Just apply as you are going for exams. Try and elaborate more on your ties to Nigeria like marriage and kids if you have those, then hope for the best. |

Please house, is VFS global website down? I filled an application form for my nephew and made payment but to transition to VFS global website for appointment booking, it was just rolling and nothing was being displayed. I have used different browsers, still the same. Was there anyone who experienced this and how do you navigate it? |

Cashmadam:Please help me, I'm a bit confused. I got an offer for Mres that will allow me bring my family of 5 to the UK. We have the POF ready, I run a small business which I just registered like 2 months back. I also do not pay my self salary or have a business account. I use personal accounts for business. What documents am I required to submit and will that be an issue for visa? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 1:25pm On May 21 |
missnazzy:Students visa is points based. You don’t need to maintain an account like a visitor visa. Go to the UK student visa thread as there is a wealth of information there you can get access to. |

Good afternoon to our gurus and everyone else that has been contributing positively to this thread. Please, I need your opinion regarding this section of the visitor visa application:“ how much are you personally spending?“ I’m fully sponsoring my mother to come to the UK. my partner and I have already stated that we are budgeting £2500 for the visit. She’s retired with a pension of N120,000/m, and we also indicated regular monthly support from children of 210,000. On the application draft and cover letter, I’ve already stated, she can pay for her local itinerary (from her town to Lagos Airport) with a budget of 110,000. I have read some info regarding that part of this thread, but the responses were quite unclear. Please if you could direct us accordingly for a successful application. Thank you please @giselle237@Cashmadam@justwise and other persons with experience and knowledge of this part

CloudXconnect:Reduce the budget to £1300. It should be for flights as she would stay in your accommodation and would not pay for it. Also feeding would already be provided by you. Keep trip visit to 2 weeks, more duration more scrutiny of your budget. For the personally spending question- answer £1 She does not need to contribute to the trip. Please the answer should be £1 for the personally question. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Fraih(f): 11:00pm On May 22 |
CloudXconnect:I agree with above, keep it to 1300£ that’s what I used for my mom and trip in the letter we said 2weeks. Include that you are fully sponsoring it so she won’t pay for the visit. Tried this for both my mom and MIL and visa approved before 7 days

Hello Gurus, Trust you are all having a good day, Wanted to seek your advice to apply for visitors visa to the uk. I plan to travel in August for two weeks I did my undergrad and masters in the uk but haven’t been back since I left in 2015 after graduation , I have a valid US visa which i haven’t used yet and a valid Canada immigration visa (this is recent so haven’t relocated yet ) . Combined monthly salary of 1m from 2 Jobs , I save about 650k monthly and I have some savings of about 11k usd In a domicillary account and about 6.5mil In mutual funds and some in stocks ..my company also gives leave allowance of 1.3mil yearly when you are going on leave. Kindly assist with my questions below : 1) I don’t save my money in the account my company pays me, I move it to my mutual funds account so do I need to print the statement of the mutual funds? or just the statement of the domiciliary account and my payslip is enough 2) How much is safe for me to put as money I plan to spend, does my monthly salary , leave allowance and savings suffice ? 3) Do you suggest I attach my Canada immigrant visa so they know I have no plans of remaining there or its not necessary |

ADEE24:- Please add it. It might help your case to show that you have an option to go to Canada so why would you want to stay in the UK? |
