Walking 10,000 steps a day is good for general health, but the idea that it simply "burns excess sugar and excess calories" is an oversimplification.

You cannot outwalk a poor diet. If calorie intake consistently exceeds calorie expenditure, walking alone will not solve the problem.

Also, becoming slim is not automatically a downside or an upside. Health is determined by factors such as body composition, muscle mass, cardiovascular fitness, blood sugar control, nutrition, and overall wellbeing, not just body size.

Furthermore, the 10,000 step target was originally a marketing concept, not a scientific threshold. Some people achieve excellent health outcomes with fewer steps, while others need additional exercise, strength training, and dietary discipline.

Walking is valuable, but presenting it as a near universal answer to excess sugar and calories ignores the bigger picture of nutrition, metabolism, genetics, sleep, and lifestyle.

A better message would be:

"Walking regularly helps improve health and increase calorie expenditure, but it works best when combined with proper nutrition and healthy habits."

A time comes when you wont be able to do it that much...appreciate it now that its less stressful

On Sunday, I took almost 18000 steps (not deliberately), God knows the best sha.
