NewT123:Even the bandit must have helped someone in someways at some point. That doesn’t stop them from being dangerous. In a time when politicians are throwing most migrants under the bus, they are here talking false things against migrants contributions to the nhs. Even when there’s data that supports us. |

directonpc:I disagree with you on this, i do not agree with her in certain issues regarding immigration policies by current and previous government but calling her dangerous is well over the top. We need a balance view in this thread and Zahra29 contributions is essential. I know that she does come across as the female version of Alastair Campbell during Tony Blair time but she does it in a meaningful way. |

justwise:Both of you get Life insurance policies, so whoever kicks the bucket first, creates a soft cushion for the other....... 😂🤣 |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 3:28pm On Jun 05 |
Lexusgs430:I'm totally against any investment that the benefit comes after death. |

justwise:When you say meaningful way what do you mean by this as He/She is always sounding condescending and seem to have that disdain for immigrant and i still cannot fathom how he/she pretends to be nice in the visa section of the uk thread. I have never read her say anything positive about immigrants in the uk. It always negative stuff and thereby sounding like He/she does not want Nigerians presence in the ukay...No wonder some folks aint holding back. |

willyede:The contempt in her tone is evident, no matter how she attempts to conceal it in her remarks. I am curious to find out the origin of that. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by abuhusna1: 6:01pm On Jun 05 |
willyede:I thought I am the only one who doesnt like her on immigration issue. She is one of the old taker who feels they gotten to the top and take away the ladder. I don't care whatever she says though cos it is just a mere opinion which holds no water. Last Last we are all immigrants even if you have british passport and bleach your skin white |

justwise:Am with you on this one! I rather major on investments I too can benefit while alive. Period. |

Lexusgs430:Common now...lets be real here, i need to enjoy my money with my family while i'm still on this planet earth, they don't need to wait for me to die to enjoy life. This may sound strange to many but i don't have bank accounts for my kids, all my investments and savings are in my name. As they grow up and i figure out what they want to do in life then i will invest in them so as to be financially dependent and not waiting for me to kick the bucket so as to enjoy life. |

| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Lexusgs430: 9:48pm On Jun 05 |
Goke7:But nothing is stopping you from enjoying the proceeds, from all your investments...... Imagine what a life insurance payout could do, to our loved one's whilst we are gone..... Or would we rather them rely on Go fund me, for immediate financial needs..... |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 10:09pm On Jun 05 |
Lexusgs430:Is life insurance the only way my loved ones can benefit while am gone? What happens to all other investments where they can also benefit too and are nominated beneficiaries. Go fund me doesn’t even come in here. Folks can go ahead with the life insurance of their choosing but for me am more interested in insurance that can cover me should my job is gone, inability to work or health coverage and so on. My own insurance is for my living self as I do other investments my loved ones can also benefit from. It’s about choices. |

Lexusgs430: Why not help your family with that money while you are still alive? |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Kenn55: 12:26am On Jun 06 |
justwise:I think instead of doing life insurance till death, it is better to take a 10 or 20 year term life insurance depending on how old your kids are. The essence of life insurance should be to protect your kids during their dependent stage. If you have a 5 year old child and you take a 20 year term life insurance, it is expected that after 20 years, your child would have become independent and would no longer need that backup. If God forbid, you kick bucket when he/she is just 12 years old for example, the payout should be able to payoff the mortgage to guarantee them shelter, pay for their education and upkeep till they become settled. You don't want the living standards of your wife and kids to drop or to rely on one wicked uncle, relatives or Gofund me to survive in the event of early kicking of bucket. It should also cover you in the event your wife kicks bucket first so it is not just for a man as most middle class families run on both husband and wife joint income In summary, life insurance isn't supposed to be a wealth creation for the living but to secure your family during the period they will need it most in event the unexpected happens. It works for middle class, the rich wouldn't need it, their will is enough. |

justwise:Justwise, seems you're missing the point...... 🤔 How could I help my family with money, that is an insurance payout, upon kicking my bucket....... 😂 |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Lexusgs430: 2:39am On Jun 06 |
8th Kenn55:Justwise and Goke7, seems to think everyone would live till 120 years old, hence not requiring life assurance policies...... 😜 |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 7:38am On Jun 06 |
Lexusgs430:Actually that’s not the point, we are basically saying that there are other ways of looking after family after death..which involves you enjoying the rewards of your hardworking together with your family. They don’t need you to die first before those benefits. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 7:40am On Jun 06 |
Lexusgs430:No I’m not missing the point at all… if my family has to wait until I die to live or maintain comfortable living then I haven’t done a good job while I was alive |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 7:47am On Jun 06 |
Kenn55:I totally get your point however what I’m saying is that life insurance is not the only option, there are other generational wealth creation vehicles that the whole family enjoys while here on earth. Life insurance creates unhealthy expectations in a family as the insurance holder gets older. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 8:33am On Jun 06 |
Lexusgs430:Depending on the kind of organisation one works for you can even get that life assurance policy for free sef as a company benefit so I don’t understand all these palava, someone I know recently who just passed his wife is going to get that payout you’re so fixated about from the company he worked for just less than 3 years. Your pension plan also allows you to nominate beneficiaries in case of any unexpected event and I also know those who have benefited from such so Oga Lexus allow people the benefit of exploring their options. No be only one way enter market. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Mcleo007(m): 8:47am On Jun 06 |
Kenn55:I think the answer to this is keeping your wife or kids as next of kin or direct beneficiary in the event of your passing. |

Has anyone recently renewed their passport using the self-service option? Mine runs out in 2 months, and I was hoping to use the self-service option, but it’s not appearing on the app. I completed the initial registration on their site and possess the application/reference number as needed. The sole available choice at this point is to schedule an appointment, with the earliest date I found being December. |

directonpc:She/he is dangerous for submitting her perspective just because she is being outspoken? Really ? Some of you even call others naive. These are the reasons folks don’t contribute or ask questions here anymore. Alot of folks here want to control the narrative by denigrating the input of others and constantly trying to be right even when they are far from it. |

Goke7:So you seem to agree with my position, either as a paid policy or company benefit.......😊 |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 10:50am On Jun 06 |
Lexusgs430:Agree? How many companies actually do it in the first place, on my own I rather spend my money on other insurance policies that will benefit me while alive e.g. income protection. |
