Peter Obi Himself Invited Nigerians To "Go And Verify." Fair . Let Us Verify! by CharlesCNG(op): 4:12am On Jun 15
One of the greatest myths repeated by Obidients is that Peter Obi campaigned on issues while his opponents only attacked his person, family, and tribe.

History says otherwise.

Peter Obi himself invited Nigerians to "go and verify." Fair enough. Let us verify.

Verification Number One: Internally Generated Revenue

Peter Obi left office in 2014.

The obvious question is this: if his economic management was so revolutionary, why did Anambra's IGR experience significantly greater growth under Willie Obiano and continue to rise under Soludo?

Shouldn't a transformational governor leave behind a revenue-generating structure that speaks for itself?

Why are his supporters constantly talking about bank balances instead of wealth creation?

Governments are not savings accounts.

Governments exist to create assets, infrastructure, institutions and economic expansion.

Verification Number Two: Landmark Infrastructure

Peter Obi governed for eight years.

Can his supporters identify one landmark infrastructure project in Anambra comparable to what Nigerians typically associate with transformational governors?

One airport?

One signature bridge?

One major industrial cluster?

One flagship road project?

One landmark institution?

Why is his legacy reduced largely to claims of prudence and money left in the treasury?

Savings are not development.

No country has ever developed by simply keeping money in the bank.

Verification Number Three: Security

Obidients often weaponise insecurity under Tinubu.

Fine.

But was Anambra under Peter Obi a paradise?

Did kidnapping disappear?

Did criminality vanish?

Did armed robbery cease?

Security challenges existed then as they exist now.

No governor and no president should be judged by isolated incidents alone.

The standard must be solutions, not emotional exploitation.

Verification Number Four: The People Who Actually Lived There

Interestingly, many of the loudest critics of Peter Obi's governorship are not Yorubas or Tinubu supporters.

They are Anambra people themselves.

Long before 2023, social media was full of Anambra residents questioning his infrastructure record and comparing his stewardship with that of previous and subsequent administrations.

Suddenly, after 2022, a carefully constructed mythology emerged in which Peter Obi became a superhuman governor whose tenure could not be questioned.

History does not work that way.

Verification Number Five: "Go and Verify" Is Not a Shield

The phrase "go and verify" does not mean "do not question."

In fact, verification means asking difficult questions.

If Peter Obi wants Nigerians to verify his record, then Nigerians are entitled to ask:

* Why was Anambra's economic expansion more visible after him?
* Why are his supporters unable to point to landmark infrastructure?
* Why is his greatest achievement always described as money saved rather than prosperity created?
* Why should an eight-year governorship without unmistakable transformational projects qualify someone for the presidency?

These are not attacks.

These are questions.

And anyone seeking the highest office in the land must answer questions.

The Greatest Irony

Obidients accuse others of attacking Peter Obi personally.

Yet the moment anyone scrutinises his record, they cry tribalism, hatred, and persecution.

No.

Peter Obi asked Nigerians to verify.

Some of us simply took him seriously.

And what we found raises more questions than answers.

Perhaps the most uncomfortable possibility is this:

Peter Obi's greatest political asset is not his record.

It is the mythology built around his record.

And mythology, however inspiring, is not a substitute for measurable achievements.

Because nations are governed by facts, not folklore.

Is this what they gave U people to post in your WhatsApp group?

Instead of you people to spend time showing us Bola Ahmed Tinubu's achievement, you are talking about Peter Obi.

Is Peter Obi the reason why Tinubu is such a calamitic failure in governance and administration?

Verify what fwcking what?

That he increased poverty in Anabra state has a Governor?

Oh! We still need to verify that he was a financial illiterate who invested billion of state funds in a brewery that currently worths near to nothing now?

Peter is smart and he will always say “Gi and verify “. Can he hit the nail on the head and tell us what exactly to go verify!

Same one that stashed money in offshore accounts? Does he think we all illiterates in the country and don’t know why government officials stash money in that particular destination?

Peter should stop acting like a saint. If he he happens to make heaven, we all going to heaven!

what exactly did you verify? State one claim and verify it. For example, in your first "verification", you mentioned IGR. Did Peter Claim he had the highest IGR? What exactly did you verify there?

Meanwhile, Tinubu's IGR is the lowest as Lagos governor since 1999

It’s only lack of education that would make one reason that Infrastructure often done with borrowed money that are not viable is development

Obi left 500 million dollars
If obiano left also 500 million dollars and soludo did same

Anambra would have 1.25 billion dollars

If invested at 19% per year that’s 237 million dollars
Say 137 million dollars is taken out and 100 million added back to investments to grow

That’s 190 billion yearly befor FAAC ,before IGR and it would keep climbing everywhere , you guys are just too short sighted

Norway is doing it ,Singapore is doing it , Dubai is doing it , Saudi is doing it , monaco is doing it

But in Nigeria it’s a crime

Thank you for confirming, once again, the dangerous moral superiority complex that afflicts a section of the Obidient movement.

Apparently, everyone who questions Peter Obi is evil.

Everyone who disagrees with Peter Obi is satanic.

Everyone who points to inconvenient facts is a paid agent.

Everyone who refuses to worship at the altar of the New Nigeria is corrupt.

And yet, despite all this righteousness, not one of you has answered a simple question:

**By what objective parameters was Peter Obi's governorship a success?**

Infrastructure?

Which landmark projects?

IGR growth?

Obiano outperformed him.

Industrialization?

Which industries?

Security?

Kidnappings and robberies existed under his watch.

Job creation?

Where are the numbers?

Human capital development?

Compared with whom?

I listed specific issues under "Go and Verify."

As usual, there is no response.

No figures.

No data.

No comparisons.

No evidence.

Just sermons.

Just demons.

Just accusations.

This is what fascinates me about a section of the Obidient movement.

When facts fail them, theology begins.

When evidence disappears, morality enters.

When arguments collapse, Satan appears.

But politics is not deliverance ministry.

Peter Obi is not the Messiah.

He is a politician.

And politicians are evaluated by measurable outcomes, not by the intensity of their followers' emotions.

So I ask again:

**By what parameters?**

Not by feelings.

Not by slogans.

Not by prophecies.

Not by exorcisms.

By what measurable parameters?

Interesting.

I write about Peter Obi, you ask me about Tinubu.

I question Obi’s record, you demand Tinubu’s achievements.

That is the Great Obidient Deflection.

Is Peter Obi’s record so fragile that it cannot be defended without changing the subject?

Tinubu’s performance, good or bad, does not exempt Peter Obi from scrutiny.

Peter Obi wants to be President of Nigeria. That makes his record, promises and competence legitimate subjects of examination.

You can criticize Tinubu.

I can criticize Peter Obi.

Democracy allows both.

But “What about Tinubu?” is not an argument. It is an escape route.

If you cannot explain your preferred candidate without attacking another candidate, then maybe your support is based more on resentment than confidence.

Peter Obi said, “Go and Verify.”

Some of us did.

The problem is that not everyone likes the results.

Thank you very much for this. I have come across some of these old threads myself and found them quite revealing.

What fascinates me is how criticisms and allegations made by Anambra people themselves during Obi's tenure have suddenly become unspeakable heresy ten years later.

Apparently, "Go and Verify" only works when the verification produces agreeable conclusions.

History, however, has a stubborn habit of refusing to cooperate with mythology.
