Yeah KAT cannot possibly be in the MVP conversations with all these fouls. If it ends today Brunson is the only choice |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:23am On Jun 14 |
Big Body Brunson. Showing how you carry a team. Not the fake and stat pad carrying Bronsexuals be yapping about. Towns MVP talk lasted all of 2 games. He's been horrendous since. Wemby just not that guy yet. His time will come. He must earn his lumps like everyone before him |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:25am On Jun 14 |
Bridges wtf man. Why are these guys suddenly Ben Wallace at the line? OG and now Bridges. If the Spurs somehow make their shot and tie this they might rue this opportunity |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:39am On Jun 14 |
A40:If you know ball these things are not that hard to call. Spurs are a special group. That boy Dylan Harper is going to be a star for sure. But nothing compares to sheer experience. You no fit skip steps and the Knicks showed that here. Every game it didn't matter the lead you just knew the Knicks would walk them down. 16 pt lead again today. 29 the other day And shout out to Mike Brown. Nobody deserves this more than him. How he tried to help our D'Tigers basketball team even though NBBF incompetence tried to frustrate. He was easy to root for |

What a feel good win. Congrats new york! |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 5:03am On Jun 14 |
And the stars would come out, Spike Lee, Jay Z and co. Congratulations to New Yorkers! |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 5:29am On Jun 14 |
I remember Mike Brown coaching the rookie Lebron James. No clue his first ring would be quarter century later. Guy man deserves it |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:26am On Jun 14 |
Brunson wasn't about to let no freaking OG Anunoby touch that Finals MVP ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by darkelf: 8:59am On Jun 14 |
Congrats to NYK This was long overdue But they aren't repeating Hopefully my GSW can learn a thing or two and stop drafting or trading for midgets Also, Mike Brown should've taken over kerr at least 2 -3 seasons ago. Also, we should've taken that OG Anunoby deal when he was offered to us |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 10:32am On Jun 14 |
Josh Hart said f*ck them picks ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 1:20pm On Jun 14 |
The news of A. Smiths passing is a tough one. Man was only 36. His demons fought him out of the league at a very age and have finally ended him. #RIP |
| Re: The NBA Begins by aliondo: 2:48pm On Jun 14 |
Congrats to the Knicks...They deserve some respect after this...they've been disrespected enough.. Meanwhile, is it becoming a championship for the guards? First, S.G.A and now, Brunson.. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Hohenheim(m): 4:36pm On Jun 14 |
Congratulations to the Knicks when they swept Philly and the Cavs, I like many others thought that it was the the east that's weak but the Knicks are actually legit. Chet's bum azz needs to learn from KAT on how to play Wemby. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:54pm On Jun 14 |
Roland17:?? Who's that |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 8:32pm On Jun 14*. Modified: 8:51pm On Jun 14 |
aliondo:It is more than that. It is demystfying legends of the game who came, saw and tried to conquer, a whole lot who couldnt carry a team to win a ring, the likes of Carmelo Anthony who was on the Knicks and Nuggets, couldnt win anything with either. The likes of Durant who couldn't win anything with OKC. Shai and Brunson came to rewrite stories. They suddenly have stolen ALL bragging rights from those two. I am being careful not to mention the OGs, the likes of Pat Ewing, Oakley and co because it seems those ones respect themselves. But these YNs on podcasts and on X, stage is set for premium drags. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 10:42pm On Jun 14 |
A40:You no sabi Aldon Smith, LB/DE made his name with the 49ers? He was versatile and strong. Kid was something else when he was drafted. He had insane speed and tackled with force. He just couldn’t stay out of trouble. He was constantly in and out of detention but drugs were the worst. He was found unresponsive inside his car.. Sad end.. but too young. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 11:57pm On Jun 14 |
Roland17:Damn. I remember the dude. He was a part of that defense with Patrick Willis, Navorro Bowman and the likes. I just saw A smiths and was wondering There's a reason kid's participation in Gridiron keeps dropping. A lot of these guys are not right in the head. Another guy I'm observing now is Brandon Aiyuk. Remember Chandler Jones, Jon Jones younger brother had a meltdown a while ago and their older brother Arthur recently passed as well only 38 or so. The way Brandon Aiyuk has been moving I suspect that guy is also not well and by the time it hits him the amount of money he's deliberately lost when he cannot play anymore the crashing out will be a movie. The rash of guys under 40 sometimes under 30 dying in this sport is the craziest I ever seen |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 12:01am On Jun 15 |
Time for uncomfortable conversations Brunson has passed Luka and Melo. I for one will put him over KD if he leads these Knicks to another chip |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 1:03am On Jun 15*. Modified: 1:25am On Jun 15 |
A40:My eyes are on Rasheed Rice (Chiefs). He is ticking all the boxes for me. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:10am On Jun 15 |
A40:Over KD if he gets a 2nd chip.. as how na? Is he even better than Kyrie? Luka.. Yes, Melo? Ahhh that’s an all timer right there. Brunson isn’t the only Knick to get the Knicks over the line and those greats are still not conversed over Melo.. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:45am On Jun 15 |
Roland17:Yes over KD. The Warriors 22 Chip really put things in a lot of perspective for me especially when you look at his body of work since he's left. Makes you wonder if he was overkill and how many other players would have won in similar shoes I find Melo a tad overrated. His style is volume scoring not conducive to winning. Remember Phil Jackson wanted him shipped out of the Knicks cos he coached MJ and Kobe and easily knew that Melo was not those guys Brunson is the first guy to do it in 53 years. He brought them back to relevancy and quite frankly go and look up Brunson numbers in the past 4 seasons especially post seasons and tell me how many players have done better. You would be surprised at how few the names you would be able to come up with. I came to the epiphany too when I looked at the raw numbers. He's a victim of where he was drafted and his journey to this point. If he was a #1 pick instead of a second rounder he would be crowned best player in the league for breaking a 53 year drought and dropping 45 on Wemby and the Spurs who were favored to win this match up btw but lost in 5 |
| Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 7:57am On Jun 15 |
Roland17:Lol! The drags are just getting started. You haven't seen people on X dragging Jimmy Butler rating Wiggins and KAT over him. ![]() |
| Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 8:20pm On Jun 15 |
I learned two things from the Knicks winning the championship this year: 1. Your best players have to be healthy in the playoffs. And no team is an exception. We all assumed OKC were going to be fine without JDub but his absence hurt them more than you can imagine. 2. The league is wide open. There are 8-12 teams than can literally win it all next year if they just put one or two things together. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 1:18pm On Jun 16 |
greypencils:KAT and Wiggins are passengers. Nobody who knows ball will compare them to Jimmy Butler. Even with 2 rings. KAT that averaged 13ppg and was a foul merchant. He's a passenger Same does not apply to Brunson. Brunson is a victim of his size and low draft status and expectations. No other player with his production in the past 4 seasons in the playoffs is this lowly rated. Don't forget he also beat the Jazz without Luka when he was at the Mavs If he leads the Knicks to another chip within the next couple of seasons people are still going to doubt him. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 1:21pm On Jun 16 |
Ohh btw. The Knicks are the only ones that should be hoisting that NBA cup banner fr |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 8:30pm On Jun 16 |
A40:You are really loving this Knicks title! |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:17am On Jun 17 |
Roland17:Not really. I'm just giving credit where it's due. I respect the fact that they are actually did what no one else has. Which is win both comps. Like winning league and champions league |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 12:56pm On Jun 17 |
Roland17:Most people are. The city deserves it for how long they waited for this title. And it got done by a bunch of players rejected from other teams for not being championship material. Dallas, how market? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 4:28pm On Jun 17 |
birdman:I don't know if to call it an overreaction because it is big market team, especially NY versus a small market team. We speak about the players like they were recently assembled. The core of this roster are very experienced in the league and have been together for a lil bit. Lets not speak like these are a bunch of nobodies who stumbled on a title. When the Celtics got knocked out, I said this is the easiest window for Brunson or Spida to get a ring because the East was easy. I really don't understand all the noise, particularly about the players. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 5:49pm On Jun 17 |
A40:Naaa fam, we are not going to start rating that glorified Principal Cup just because the Knicks won it. You see, this is why I am saying some of you are taking this thing way too far. Like seriously? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 7:45pm On Jun 17 |
Roland17:No. I'm saying only a team that wins both the Chip and this trophy should get to raise the banners. Relax and try and understand me. I'm only giving credit where it's due. Since the inception of the tournament they are the ones that have won both. Beating the team in the cup that they beat in the Finals. By all intents and purposes they were the best team in the league this season and were merely hiding in plain sight |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 1:56am On Jun 19 |
Roland17:Knicks are a very experienced bunch no doubt and it helped them. But this is year 1 of a new coach, and you can tell they were well coached. They studied the spurs like a book, and executed accordingly. They made Sixers look like like a rookie team, the same Sixers team that outdueled yourceltics. To your next point, the east was not easy this year, instead the east has changed. Just packing stars with bad coaching will go nowhere, as you saw with your team and sixers. Orlando will only be better next year, as will Atlanta, and Detroit. Celtics and Sixers might not admit it yet, but you guys are about to become perennial playoff flameouts as the younger teams gun you out of contention. |
