This truly shows that Kenneth Chamelonnwakwo is a charge and bail lawyer. Look at the kind of lawyers he recruited, charge and bail lawyers like him, disturbing our space with jargons, the noble thing to do is to tender an apology or head to court and bring an evidence that shows Mr Peter Obi scammed Mr Obunike. Coming online to explain what we have already known for me is act of cowardice.

When is the Agulu fraudster going to sue the Gazette newspaper for his religious war tape since 2023?
The lying clown is yet to sue as promised because it was him on the tape yet he claimed that wasn't him.
Him Tu lie the China man..
Re: Defamation: Kenneth Okonkwo Responds To Peter Obi's Letter by swaggerific: 12:43pm On Jun 18
Classic diversion tactics. Kenneth Okonkwo knows he messed up big time on Channels TV, so now his lawyers are trying to shift the goalposts to internal party primary drama to confuse the public. If Obunike has a grievance with the NDC party executives over ₦10M, he should face the party secretariat. Trying to pin everyday party administration issues on Peter Obi just proves the obsession and malice behind the initial interview.

Such a long response from Kenneth Okonkwos lawyers.

Look at you conflating constructive criticism with malicious allegations of a multi-billion naira scam.

Going on national TV to look into the camera and call someone a fraudster without a single shred of proof isn't "criticism," it's a straight-up textbook defamation.
If Tinubu chooses not to sue people for libel, that's his business. Peter Obi has a right to protect his hard-earned reputation from clout-chasers who think they can use his name for media traffic without consequences.

Let Kenneth take that long, rambling 4-page essay to court and see if the judge will accept "someone told me" as a legal defense.
Jayhome24:
Oh really, and that is the person who you want to vote as your ohanaeze president, someone who h8te criticism, someone who always threatens people with defamatory letters ba? E go tey you and your obi I swear.

So if Tinubu has to be writing defamatory letters then by now all obi supporters and obi should be on life imprisonment by now from all kinds of defamatory fired agai St Tinubu..

As I said obi will only rule over Agulu land lord Association or Okrika sellers assocition as their president or ohanaeze president but NEVER NIGERIA presdent its a promise we will keep and execute if even Jesus beg us we won't listen.

Your bitterness is showing, and it's quite funny. You people will always try to drag tribalism, Agulu, and Ohanaeze into everything just because you lack a sound logical argument. It just seems like a coordinated push on PO.
Kenneth Okonkwo went on Channels TV to cap defaming lies, got hit with a heavy legal demand notice, and now his lawyers are writing a whole book trying to shift the blame to a disgruntled party aspirant. If Kenneth is so confident, why did his lawyers spend half the letter crying about a leaked phone number instead of proving the actual allegations? Face the legal facts and leave your seeming obsession with Agulu out of it.

Look at you celebrating lack of logic. Typical! When the legal facts of the case hit you over the head, you immediately switch to "your tears dey sweet me" and "epistle of jargons" because you actually either have zero intellectual capacity to defend Kenneth's weak legal letter or you simply didn’t have enough time to read it before just going straight to name calling.

You're here crying about "Obi coven" and "Agulu landlord association" to console yourself from the reality of the situation. Kenneth Okonkwo maybe thought he was still acting a Nollywood script when he went on TV to spill unverified gossip against PO. Now that reality has set in and his legal team is panicking with 4 pages of stories, you're here chanting "Aso Rock till 2099."

Write from now till 2099, a court of law doesn't run on Nairaland logic or emotional vibes. If you accuse a man of a multi-billion naira crime on national TV, you better have receipts or get ready to pay heavy damages for libel.

Let's see if Kenneth's grammar will save him from the judge. Simple!

Jonjam269:
Obidients celebrated Okonkwo as a defender of democracy when he was criticising others and singing the praises of their political messiah, Peter Obi. Now that the criticism is directed at them, they should accept it with the same enthusiasm and stop complaining.

Obidients never seem to have learned how to handle criticism, they only know how to criticize and malign others. They have elevated Peter Obi to a messianic figure whom they believe is beyond scrutiny or criticism. What they are promoting is a form of intolerance toward dissenting views, a dictatorship of a vocal few. Their constant double standards often come across as hypocritical and detached from political reality.
The hypocrisy and political delusion on display are hard to ignore.
It is false equivalence and intellectually dishonest to equate "criticism" with an accusation of fraud. This is an accusation of fraud, not a difference of opinion or an inability to "handle criticism"

If anyone is displaying hypocrisy here, it is you, pretending not to know what is at stake while dismissing a serious allegations as mere "criticism"

@naptu2 I think its also best to summarize that letter using ChatGPT. I am not usually the lazy type but I lost focused when I got to the 5th page...lol

So I uploaded the 8 page documents to ChatGPT and it gave me this:

This document is an 8-page legal response letter dated 16 June 2026 from Supreme God Chambers (acting for Kenneth Okonkwo) to Peter Obi's lawyers. It responds to an earlier letter in which Peter Obi allegedly accused Kenneth Okonkwo of defamation.

Executive Summary
The central position of the letter is:

Kenneth Okonkwo denies defaming Peter Obi and insists that his public statements were based on information supplied by political aspirants who claimed they were defrauded during NDC party primaries.

The letter argues that:

Kenneth Okonkwo merely relayed allegations made by aggrieved aspirants.
He had supporting information from multiple sources.

Peter Obi played a leadership role in the South-East structure of the NDC and therefore cannot completely distance himself from the alleged activities.

The earlier legal threat from Peter Obi is viewed as an attempt to silence criticism.
Kenneth Okonkwo stands by his television interview and refuses to retract his statements.

Major Points Raised
1. Complaint About Publication of Kenneth Okonkwo's Phone Number
The first substantive issue is not defamation.
The letter accuses Peter Obi's side of:
Publishing Kenneth Okonkwo's personal phone number.
Posting correspondence on social media before serving him directly.
Exposing him to harassment, threats, abuse, and potential physical danger.

The letter characterizes this as:
A privacy violation.
A data breach.
A deliberate attempt to incite attacks against Kenneth Okonkwo.

2. Denial of Defamation
Kenneth Okonkwo's lawyers state that:
He did not defame Peter Obi.
His statements reflected information provided by persons claiming to be victims of wrongdoing.
He genuinely believed the matters he discussed were true.

3. Reliance on Complaints From Aspirants
A large portion of the letter focuses on one complainant:
Obunike Ohaegbu ("Nwa Miss"wink
According to the letter:
Ohaegbu allegedly paid ₦10 million to secure an NDC House of Representatives ticket.
He later claimed he had been scammed.
He allegedly told Kenneth Okonkwo that Peter Obi and NDC leaders were responsible.

He allegedly encouraged Kenneth Okonkwo to publicize the matter.
The letter repeatedly states that:
Kenneth Okonkwo was acting on information supplied by Ohaegbu.
Ohaegbu never objected to Kenneth Okonkwo's public representation of his complaints.
Ohaegbu allegedly confirmed the accuracy of Kenneth Okonkwo's presentation.

4. Allegations About NDC Primary Elections
The letter alleges that:
Aspirants were asked to pay large sums beyond official fees.
House of Representatives aspirants paid around ₦10 million.
Senatorial aspirants allegedly paid ₦20 million.
These payments were not authorized under party rules.
The letter claims that:
Many aspirants believed these payments were required to secure candidacy.
Some aspirants later considered the process fraudulent.

5. Peter Obi's Role in South-East NDC Operations
A recurring theme is that Peter Obi allegedly:
Led the South-East NDC structure.
Appointed or influenced caucus leaders.
Exercised substantial influence over primary election processes.
The letter cites:
Internal NDC statements.
Media reports.
Statements from party officials.
It argues that Peter Obi cannot completely dissociate himself from events occurring within that structure.

6. Additional Supporting Witnesses
The letter claims Kenneth Okonkwo received corroboration from other individuals, including:
Chief OAU Onyema.
Other unnamed aspirants.
Politicians who allegedly complained about payments and primary election procedures.
According to the letter, these individuals:
Claimed they were misled.
Claimed money was collected improperly.
Claimed primary election outcomes were predetermined.

7. Media Reports and Public Statements
The letter cites:
Television interviews.
Facebook posts.
X (Twitter) posts.
Online news articles.
These are presented as evidence that allegations about the NDC primaries were already in the public domain and were not invented by Kenneth Okonkwo.

8. Position on Peter Obi's Demand Letter
Kenneth Okonkwo's lawyers contend that Peter Obi's earlier demand letter:
Was intended to intimidate or silence him.
Sought to prevent discussion of matters of public interest.
Conflicts with Peter Obi's own public statements supporting freedom of expression.
Final Position of Kenneth Okonkwo
The letter concludes that:
Kenneth Okonkwo:
Rejects the allegation that he defamed Peter Obi.
Maintains that his statements were based on complaints from affected aspirants and other sources.
Believes there is evidence of irregularities in NDC primaries.
Continues to stand by what he said on Channels TV.
The lawyers request that Peter Obi:
Focus on addressing the underlying allegations.
Refund money allegedly collected from aspirants if wrongdoing occurred.
Stop attempts to silence Kenneth Okonkwo through legal threats.
I know the above is still long for some nlers...lol. So here's a one-sentence summary from ChatGPT:

One-Sentence Summary

This letter is a formal legal response in which Kenneth Okonkwo's lawyers reject Peter Obi's defamation allegations, defend Okonkwo's television statements as being based on complaints from NDC aspirants, accuse Peter Obi's side of violating Okonkwo's privacy, and argue that Peter Obi bears responsibility for alleged irregularities in NDC primary election processes.

Kenneth should have apologized after the man he used as evidence had gone to national TV to refute all his statements.
This is simply grandstanding and if the matter goes to court and Kenneth is found to be guilty, not even his current paymaster Atiku will bail him out!

Several of Atiku henchmen have been meeting him behind the scenes to apologize but he is forming hard guy!

This rubbish has clearly shown how empty if not foolish Kenneth Okonkwo is...

Lawyers are going to use you cash out...

Let someone tell me how this verbose literature makes any kind of sense or addresses the matter at hand...

This misguided element is anticipating that APC or Tinubu will take over his case of defamation since in his warped thinking, that would harm Peter Obi's chances...

Very pathetic for Okonkwo to be ending this way...

I just wish Peter Obi will instruct his lawyers to file a suit immediately...

We have seen this kind of movie severally...The lawyers who are egging Kenneth Okonkwo on just want to use him to collect humongous legal fees.

The supposition is that given the verbosity of the rejoinder, Peter Obi's lawyers would back-track and inform their client to adopt a less serious stance...

But it is a very derisive strategy because there is no substance in the entire submission...

Some of the points/explanations tendered look like judicial briefs given by a judge.

I don't know when Kenneth Okonkwo became an omniscient judge as to brand amother citizen a fraudster and corruptible on national TV just on the strength of a mere hearsay he cannot substantiate...

How did Kenneth Okonkwo become a lawyer because the whole thing is looking ridiculous...

Was it criticism when Ipob turned Obidents called Tinubu a druggie, fraudster, certificate scammer etc way before he even contested for presidency ⁉️

If Tinubu didn't sue Reno,Bwala and even Hudenyin for defamatory attacks against him without proof, they why can't Obi do same ⁉️

U Ipob turn Obidents can't take a pinch of what u dis out including those u support. Cos if Tinubu has been doing this u guys would've crucified him long before he became president.

If Nigeria were to make any kind of progress, the judiciary and indeed the code of conduct of the legal practice must be reformed.

In the US, a seemingly innocuous infraction will fetch a disbarring but here you get to see suspicious elements and people of questionable character find a way to get a law degrees so as to assist them to further their vocation...
