Stop projecting your fears on others. 🥱
Fears? I don't understand
Please go and watch that video. You will notice that the lady was actually quarrelling and struggling with herself. Her facial expressions in that video is anything but a happy person. Yes her facial expression betrayed her verbal expression. I don't need any psychologist to tell me that the gap between that lady's "ideal self and her "real self " is too wide. Hence the conflict she is trying to solve by willfully living in denial and demonizing marriage to feel good.

I watched the video and I simply saw a woman converting her point across using inflections as well as body language. 🥱

2. You certainly need a psychiatrist to help you understand the difference between listening and not projecting your private fears delusions into what others think or say. 🥱

3. There was no conflict! 🥱

Na so o. For my age, marriage don become like long distance journey — plenty road block before you reach destination.

I dey do business wey require travel always. Lagos to Abuja, PH, everywhere. You fit see say when you dey move every week, e hard to settle down properly. But even the ones wey don marry, dem get their own story now.

The real thing be say people no need marriage certificate to live well. Peace of mind na what matter most. Some of us just prefer our freedom.

Many of us millennials will probably not get married, the sooner we deal with that reality to sooner we find our true purpose. With or without a partner life will move on. You can decide to mop about it or decide to enjoy every minute meaningfully ,the choice is yours.

NB: men are equally not left out from this, we long for marriage just as much but eeish.hibo sheet happens eh

I am nobody's victim, not even mine. I am glad this lady understands that her life is her own to choose to live as she wants. 🥱

In reality none of us except the first homo sapien sapien have his or her life to live. Don't think I am going religious! Nope. Because in that case then you live to please your creator. Beyond this ostensible but controversial idealistic religious perspective is the undisputed empirical fact that humans are essentially and intrinsically SOCIAL NOT SOLITARY: Your language, food, norms, mode of dressing, values, mores including our social institutions and world-views are all inherited or imbibed through socialization. You don't actually own your "life, it is given. if Not by God then by the SOCIETY.
The world is actually a theatre and individuals are dramatis personae acting to please each other.
IF THAT LADY IS ACTUALLY LIVING HER LIFE SHE WOULD NOT BE IN SOCIAL MEDIA SEEKING VALIDATION IN A PUBLIC SPACE OF DIVERS OPINIONS

1. Utter nonsense! Your life as an individual remains yours to live as you would. There are so many more options today of what society or life you would want to live than the homo sapien had. If living in a cave is what suits you most, you have the deserts and other wildernesses to explore. You are free to leave any of the societies you do not find melds well with the way you would rather live your own life, and the options out there are plenty. I would even go as far as to argue that you are allowed to check out of life when you are done with it. I don't subscribe to the victim delusion that you continue to peddle. 🤔

2. Again, you are free to exit the theatre if you are not happy in it. 🤔

3. Social media is an option on how to live one's life. That you haven't realized that speaks volumes about how deep in the "I am a victim" delusion you have gotten yourself into. 🤔

You lack sociological imagination. I am a trained sociologist so it is not surprising that you are not understanding me. But you're somewhat arrogant most probably as a lawyer thinking you know much about the laws of social relations. At best you are armed-chair social commentator. You lack the skills

Interesting of you to insist that pushing victimhood is what trained sociologists essentially do for a living! Imagine pedalling undecided

Imagine suggesting victim mentality as a law of social relations? If that is what your sociological imagination has donated to your brain, I pick common sense over that any day. undecided

You argue incoherently and sound abusive
However, the life you claim is yours is the one of the many options according to you the society provided. So you actually live to please the society. Go and learn the relationship between the individual and society and stop bragging in ignorance
Common sense is a very weak source of knowledge. Scientific knowledge still remains the most valid

who cares if she isn't bothered why is she explaining for audience who didn't ask this is simply an indirect projection of her internal pains. And we don't care

I filtered out the jargon to get to something remotely worth responding to...

There is a famous saying that insists, "Human beings are social animals," which I tend to agree with on a good day. We socialize with those in our environment (including animals) to the best of our abilities. Over time, we built societies with frameworks enabling communities to optimize our socialization to benefit more than just one. So, yes, in a way, those who live in human societies do in fact attempt to live in a way that may either please the society or antagonize it as much as they are able to. 🤔

2. This is coming from someone who thought claiming that living pleasing society is some sort of insult or evil. 😂😂😂😂

3. Wow! This one has failed to realize that much of common sense is, in fact, based, not on the pseudo-science he has been spewing so far, but on facts which science upholds. 🤔

It's well. Marriage isn't for everyone at the same time with the same benefits. She possibly didn't want it then and wants it now. Even if she'd been advised to pick/or saw a good guy.

If she regrets it for personal reasons such as unreadiness or some mental state at the time, I wish her well. But if she turned down good men for foolish reasons, it could hit hard now.

Not all who married stay married. Not all who are single are unhappy. To each their own. Not mocking anyone.

You will not stop amusing me with your motor park social engineering.
Humans are not social animals because they socialize with others and even animals around. This is terribly commonsensical and smacks of sociological ignorance
We are a social animals because no human being can survive in isolation from other human beings.
A human infant depends on other humans for survival. All that make you a normal human being is inculcated into you by other people. For example, you did not choose your language, others (society) choosed it for you.

1. What you are telling me is that the part about our brains being wired for social interactions and cognition, basically navigating relationships and understanding self, others, and our environment, has nothing to do exactly with socializing with others, including animals? lipsrsealed lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

2. That makes no sense! lipsrsealed

3. OMGOSH! Now I know what I have been trying to engage all this while. undecided

There are people like this who don't want a long-term companion or spouse, but still have relationships and lovers. And there's the ones who prefer to have a long-term partner that they never marry because they're afraid of marriage for some reason.

If she wanted to be married, she could be. It's not really that hard to find someone. It seems the main people who aren't married (who want to be) either have a ridiculous wishlist for a partner, they're a terrible person, or they don't want to settle for someone they don't actually like.

But this person just wants engagement.

The best approach is to discover your purpose before marriage. If your purpose leads you toward marriage, then get married. If it doesn't make marriage seem right for you, don't pursue it. Everyone has a different path in life, and the sooner you understand yours, the better.
