There's really nothing to do to get a faster decision if it's still within normal processing time. Lets say for a standard application, you want to stay positive and wait for 30 days before making a case by contacting UKVI via their paid inquiry service.

When you want to contact them, include all your information and tell them why you are appealing for a decision to made on your case as soon as possible as it is now outside normal processing time which means they have not met the SLA. Remember to make it compassionate, professional and yet not desperate . ai is your best friend here, just put the right prompt and edit it as it generates something for you. Don't just accept everything ai gives you. ai don't know your mind, it's what you asked it to do that it does based on its understanding of your prompt. So do some tweaking before picking the right version that sounds like you. Remember don't sound desparate. Don't replace desparation with being uneasy. Because this is your future, getting to start on time is you planning a path for your career, future, etc.

1. You may submit it before it before going for biometerics. You may use your phone to scan your documents, where the documents have more than one page, just combine them using Word or any document processor you are comfortable with. But if you wish to submit the documents on the day of the biometrics, be prepared to get that done with a fee. I think this might take some time. I recommend submitting at home in a relaxing environment before biometrics, that way you know you have uploaded all the required and supporting documents.

So I posted this, I got a mail from someone that said he's a current student and he has a group we I can join for necessary information, that the group also helped him too blah blah blah. We exchanged contacts then the next thing he's asking for money. He mailed me with samdeeen200 email but I'm sure he will change the name when he wants to scam someone else. He messaged me on WhatsApp with "0815 465 4120". I also remembered some days earlier there's a user that has been tagging the name "STEPHEN AYANTOYE" as a scammer.

When I checked for the name of the person that owns the number, lo and behold he is the one.

So my brother applied to University of Plymouth and they offered him admission and requested he proceed with payment of initial deposit and a month later they updated his admission status to declined and we requested for refund. The refund was processed but we didn’t get the full money paid back. The school deducted about 350 pounds and that doesn’t include the charges from fly wire. I need to know if this is peculiar to him and why the school deducted funds without mentioning it in the policy before payment

This is not necessarily peculiar to your brother, but whether the deduction was justified depends entirely on the refund terms that applied when he paid the deposit.

A few possibilities:

1. Non-refundable deposit or administrative fee

Many UK universities retain part of a deposit as an administrative charge when an applicant withdraws or when an offer is cancelled under certain circumstances.

Such fees can range from £100–£500 depending on the institution's policy.



2. Currency exchange and bank charges

Universities often refund only the amount they receive and may not cover exchange-rate losses, intermediary bank charges, or transfer fees.



3. Flywire charges

Flywire fees and exchange-rate differences are usually separate from university deductions and may reduce the amount received back.




However, if:

the university withdrew or declined the admission after initially offering it, and

the refund policy available at the time of payment did not clearly state a £350 deduction,


then your brother has reasonable grounds to ask for:

a detailed refund breakdown,

the specific policy clause authorising the deduction, and

an explanation of why the deduction was applied.


I would recommend emailing the University of Plymouth Student Accounts Team and requesting:

Please provide a full itemised breakdown of the refund calculation, including any administrative fees, deposit retention, bank charges, or other deductions, and the relevant policy provision that authorises each deduction.



If you tell me:

the amount originally paid,

the amount refunded,

the reason the university gave for changing the status to "declined",
