Honestly, Bruno has played strangely in this competition. He does forward passes even with slight chances of success. Seems it’s Martinez idea for those guys to recycle possession.

Looks like we cant sell Ugarte anymore this summer due to his serious injury. Hopefully he recovers well and can continue his career at a good level. I wonder how that will change the thinking of the midfield signings.

I don’t think it will change the number of signings planned because we were planning the season without him anyway.

The only issue now is that our transfer funds will be minus his expected fee. I hope the club just bites the bullet and replaces his expected fee with extra money from our coffers.

The transfer fee was the impact I meant. And since FIFA will now pay Ugarte's wages, that might help with Wage space but maybe Mount would be the one on the chopping block. I heard rumours of him being linked with Amorim at AC Milan. Although I doubt they'll take on his wages.

The problem is that we can only get peanuts for Mount. Nobody is buying him for significant money.

If INEOS are serious they have to cough up the money cos Arsenal, City, Liverpool are going to strengthen significantly this summer. I don’t want a repeat of the Glazers MO of one step forward and 2 steps back.

Because of his earlier yellow card, now he was supposed to hack him down to deny the scorer a clearer scoring opportunity, he couldn't. This is what I hate about Case's early yellow card syndrome.

City spent £120m on a midfielder Newcastle would rank below Bruno Guimarães...atleast based on this WC.

He's about to be 29. Would be another expensive short term option we cant afford.

I will not spend 100m for Guimaeres and he is elite.

I now see why some people argue that COPA America is more difficult than Euros.

International football is tricky tbh. Unlike Club football, no "rebound" competition to hold body - the next major tourney na 2028 Euros.

That injury record is the most crucial part of the equation. He usually plays okay to well, however he is rarely fit enough to play.


Unless a strong dibia can convince me that he has seen into the future and promises that tha Mount will stay fit for the next 2-3 years i won't mind moving on from him.

I have not really watched a full match of Germany in this tournament, so i can't comment on what went wrong for them. Germany has been fumbling for several years now. Hansi Flick could not get Germany through the group stage in the last World Cup. The world cup before that Joachim Low could not get them past the group stage as well. Hansi Flick is definitely not a bad manager. This generation of German players is just rubbish.

With regards to why i liked him, his club teams played attacking and high tempo football and he has shown a lot of tactical flexibility in his formations and style of play.
