but it also means he has to simultaneously running ragged doing defensive duties when the wingers lose possession which is about 2 of 3 times when they do not pass back

on the goal both were almost walking back

i think there are tactics to bring bruno into a game
but martinez is an agent and i don't think he has it in him

martinez has mendes/leao/felix on one side and dalot/cancelo/conceicao on the other
neto can play both sides
so the instinct is to depend on wing play
their entire gameplan is to pass the ball from side to side until it gets to the wing

martinez could play ronaldo and ramos up top
or ronaldo and felix up top
with bruno behind
and a full complement midfield of vitinha, and the two neves
let mendes and dalot/cancelo do the wing play

when bruno f*cks up in this setup you can say his performance was irredeemable because he is the primary creative force and there is more defensive solidity

but i watched the game yesterday and the entire second half was heart-attack inducing because anytime croatia moved forward, they looked like they could score
