HOW I BECAME NIGERIA'S YOUNGEST CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT AT AGE 16 — LADY TESTIFIES AT MFM CHURCH

"I started my ICAN journey three years ago after finishing secondary school early. Instead of just waiting around until I was old enough for university, my parents encouraged me to begin writing the ICAN examinations through the Accounting Technicians Scheme (ATS).

Because I wasn't an accounting student in secondary school, the exams—especially at the first level—proved to be much more difficult for me than for others. However, I put in extra effort, and by the grace of God, I passed that first level. Ever since then, it has been a story of success.

Unfortunately, last year I failed one of my final papers. I had to rewrite it earlier this year in May. To the glory of God, I passed the examination, and I can now officially say that I am a qualified accountant of the Institute at just 16 years old!"

Congratulations to her. But let's also give credit where it's due: years of disciplined study, supportive parents, and perseverance after failing a paper. If passing is "to the glory of God," then failing the first attempt can't conveniently be ignored. Her hard work is the clearest part of the story.

She used to be shy about wearing certain clothes because she didn't like showing off her curves, but I told her they weren't as sultry as she thought. I became her personal stylist, and she's gotten used to it now.

Congratulations to her, but i never knew that one can be qualified to write ICAN examination without university degree or HND, first time coming across that.
I thought you must be an accounting student first, before writing the exam for chartered accountant.

Youngest chartered accountant come mean say wetin? 🤔. She still can’t work until she graduates from university and finishes NYSC. She will still enter entry level job like her fellow graduates and be making the same salary with them. So what’s the noise about? huh

How do you finish secondary school that early as a 16yrs old? in between these years, you take ICAN for 3yrs.

That means, at 7yrs old you finished primary school. By 13 yrs of age, you finished with SS3 and WAEC.
