Good day fellas , let's face it !! there's a pandemic of mature young men in Nigeria now between the ages of 35 - 40 that aren't willing or even trying to get married. Never did I ever anticipate that a time would come when Nigerian men would stay this long without getting married or not even bother about it by a tiny fraction.


What do you think is happening during this era of Nigerian men not wanting to get married ? Is it the Nigerian economy? Is it that they can't find good Nigerian women ? Or Is it lack of financial resources ?.

Young men in the building from ages 35 to 40 that are yet to be married can you kindly explain why your yet to get married, maybe there's a justifiable excuse for this afterall.

It's not just money. Even the ones wey don clear am financially still dey run.

The thing now be say marriage no get warranty again. You fit spend 10 years finding someone, then discover say na different person you marry. So men don start to take things slow. Instead of rushing into something wey go lock them for life, dem prefer to just enjoy and make sure wetin dem dey enter be genuine one.

Economy just dey add pressure to the process.

Look around you and imagine getting married to these set of women that we have now, B2B midfielders na water ( them full every ) and hook up culture is rapidly growing.

Secondly the economy is also part of the problem. Lastly many Nigerian men are leaving the country every day, some of them settle there or within when they experience a different type of love and women, they won't think of coming back to marry their naija women.

I agree with you bro , the hook cup culture isn't dying anytime soon I'm afraid it's here to stay. Even some married women still do prostitution codedly.

And yes the Nigerian economy is in shambles. Na one of the Major factors why men dey japa be that.
If you experience love from outside this country ,u go too enjoy because your not dating somebody that sees you as an ATM machine , it's pure crystal love you get.
Most girls for naija still dey try survive the hardship. So their mentality about true love don block.

After in-laws tauntings and extorting - giving you a voluminous list. You end up getting loan in millions to spend on Court/White Wedding.

Great point. It's complicated. Marriage is not for the faint-hearted. You need money to run a home especially when children come into the picture.

If you marry a wrong partner with loose values, it gets more complicated for you.

There are many however who have been blessed by God with responsible and understanding partners. Such persons are very lucky.

Was thinking of creating same topic today ,even our mothers are discouraging men from getting married to naija women and if you must then you gats shine eyes wella cus they will reject any irresponsible woman with no manners nor respect..currently dealing with one though she has my child but still on still I’m not an advocate for baby mama , so will try to fix things ..las las na lack of funds de cause this issues ..

Yes I agree but don't you think babymamas are bitter , at least 80 percent of the baby mamas I know are all bitter women cause the men refused to marry them.

True I know great men that became shadows of themselves simply because they lost their marriage , the women gave them hell.
