| Re: Judges Houses: Under What Law Are We Operating? - Falana by izombie(m): 10:43am On Jul 17 |
It's illegal for the executive to build anything for the judiciary. The constitution has made provisions for that. What tinubu and wike are doing is illegal. And shame to the judges that collected the houses. |

yarimo:It's shameful the mindset of some of you and I don't mean this in a disrespectful manner. So the fact that there is a precedence for impunity means that the impunity must continue? Same mindset when Tinubu is criticized for his woeful performance in security and power. Most of you are quick to remind critics that the previous administrations too didn't succeed in those sectors. Let's put this country first, becasue governments will come and go. Shalom. AsomughaChuks02:The modus operandi now is to throw in PO's name into any conversion on the performance of this government just to derail such conversation. |

AsomughaChuks02:We shouldn't overlook that. I think he raised a very important issue: Why should the Federal Government be building houses for judges? Hmm. With a system like this, we can't move forward, whether it's Obi, Tinubu, or Atiku. |

I honestly don't know how to respond to the issue....that's why I have kept quiet. On the one hand, Barr. Falana is very right, there is a conflict of interest thing here. And let's be honest, in my opinion, judges should apply for mortgages like everyone else, FHA is doing mortgage, they can in a way afford the thing. On the other hand, Abuja is a very expensive city. Renting even one bedroom apt in the city (not outskirts and sattelite towns) is expensive. Are we suggesting that judges should then spend a large chunk of their income on rent in Abuja, meaning that they would be more susceptible to bribes anyway? It's effed up either way, and with the trust issues Nigerians have with the judiciary, matters are more complicated. |

yarimo:... It's lots like you that have changed the mindset of many Nigerians I mean how do you support something that's wrong and affecting your daily existence even into the future of your unborn kids. The best is for sane Nigerians to leave this country for people like you to saner climes. People like you keep chanting come back home and fix your country. But on the other hand, you are aiding political sabotage. So what then is your prize? |
