Single track line , I dont undertsand so it will operate only one train going one way or am i seeing this wrong ?

This massive infrastructure leading to another country Niger Republic which is an environment prone to terrorists attack is my concern. Is the security of that infrastructure guarantee considering the terrorists activities in that area?
Another angle to the matter is the economic turn over of the infrastructure compares to other regions of the country.
Infrastructure should not be established base on political affiliation but rather on economic benefits. Still a Buhari legacy where Tinubu continues.

Why do leaders of this country remain so pig headed in not only wasting scarce resources, but comiting the little they have to completely misplaced priorities.

Industries here are suffering from energy crises and instead of the infrastructure to saturate the country with gas you want to pipe it through countries literally at war, where as was reported, the pipeline is only as strongest as it's weakest section....

Now you are building rail infrastructure into another country whose borders are notorious for insurgent infiltration when Nigerians can hardly travel city to city efficiently due to patchy to non existent rail links, thus further jacking up the cost of living and the cost of doing business.

That is how they prioritized the export of crude over refining and refined products for decades only to depend on the private sector to power this economy when import of gasoline and co. became an economic millstone. Was it a sin for NNPC refining to have taken up the entire 2 million barrel output and export refined products at value added instead.

Now the same diseases is afflicting gas.
Natural gas that can be processed into dozens of value added products right here in Nigeria they prefer to export raw, then import the finished gas products at enormous cost.

Where is the east-west and east-north railway to trigger massive industrial spread throughout the country...no. What about railways to move goods cheaper and more effectively thus reducing cost of living and doing business...no.

They rather build one to a country with a GDP less than ours. Which can neither afford our goods in quantity or offer any cost savings to our industries or economy. If we wanted an international rail line then it should be with our biggest trading partners around us, the west coast rather than Niger republic that has practically nothing of worth to offer us.

I can say this with confidence: the Kano–Maradi railway project, currently being executed by Messrs Mota-Engil, originated from the approval granted by the late President Muhammadu Buhari. The project was initiated under the leadership of the then Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, during the APC's second-term administration in 2019.

In my view, rather than extending the railway to Maradi in Niger Republic, it would have been more beneficial to continue the rail network from the Abuja–Kaduna corridor to Nigeria's coastal areas and the South-East region to strengthen domestic connectivity and promote greater economic development within the country.

You are outdated with your data. Shell if I am not mistaken that rushed out of Nigeria when some reforms was put in place, they are back with billion dollars investment.

The banking sector have been upgraded to some extent, if you are into Nigeria stock market, , no way you won't be praying for president Tinubu. Things are hard but money still circulate

I am talking about manufacturing ..agriculture. Services and construction... and not financial economy...
Real Economy focuses on employment, tangible production, physical trade, and consumer consumption.
Shell did not technically leave Nigeria entirely....
but rather shifted its focus away from messy onshore Niger Delta operations....
to reinvest heavily in deep offshore and gas projects....
