I honestly feel United have a shot at winning the EPL next season of all necessaries are in place, i am trusting the board to put the necessaries in place but Carrick should also make is stance clear to push the board to move faster...

For me, i just hope we make top 3, finish in the UCL quarter final at least (with a good fight, not an embarrassing exit like Chelsea), then win the FA cup.

If we can do that, we are good to go…that means we will attract more players and can challenge for the league afterwards.


Anyways, i have a good feeling about next season.

He’s going to miss out on a core period in his developmental phase. E no easy mehn.

We still have Ibragimov and co to look up to. They should send Toby Collyer on loan to a club where he’ll get more minutes. He has what it takes to be a PL footballer.

I think Collyer needs to be sold for his own good. He is no longer a boy but a 22yr old man.
Most teams won’t give him the regular developmental minutes he desperately needs now in order to develop if he is only loan.

Same with Dan Gore especially if we get another senior CM.

They need to move on and play serious minutes. Gore has missed about 2 years of football in the past 3 years.

I foresee a large exodus in the incoming weeks. Moorhouse, Ethan Williams, Finley McAllister etc.

I hear that Kukonki might leave as well. He is a left sided CB by nature but has mainly played LB because Armer who is only a few months older is rated above him at LCB and they both have Ayden Heaven who is only 1yr older rated above them in the same LCB position.

I swear. Same arguments since 2015. For me I'm done worrying myself about a team that has refused to step out of mediocrity. From this season on if they play well I will celebrate them. If they continue to do rubbish I go wash hands comot

Exactly. We should be doing as standard practice for the talented academic prospects when they leave.

The good thing is that i believe the academy will keep churning out better players than previous years because of the improved structure that has been put in place in terms of scouting and coaching. We no longer have a large cohort of low-quality players like players that came just after Rashford and before Gomes/Chong/Greenwood. Those were the dark ages.

Over the past few years only City and to an extent Chelsea can compare.

The key point I think is we have to manage these youngsters well. We have to give them the best environment and opportunities to become a first team footballer, in another team if not in Man Utd.

I hope the rush they are rushing JJ Gabriel won’t affect his development like it did Shoretire. If the talent is not meeting up with expectations it’s better they backtrack. The hype is not helping the kid as well but that him papa na wahala.

Pure talent wise he is up there with the best talents we have produced in my time and probably all time. The question is if he will develop an EPL physique. That is where Dowman has the edge (similar technical level but far superior physical level).

The Tynan Thompson deal surprises me but the club scouts hopefully know something extra. He was Spurs 2nd best LW in their academy after Mikey Moore and overall, i am not even sure he was top 5 in terms of rating in their academy. Moore and Malachi Hardy were both better rated (although Hardy is a CB and we are covered in that position). Their best talent is a 17yr old named Luca Williams-Barnett but he is a CAM so don't need him as well.

Finally paying potentially 8m for Thompson means either we don't rate Noah Ajayi, or we expect to lose him soon.

I was hoping we’d have more talents on that left wing close to first team football. I think Ajayi would’ve made the step up if he was more physical.

I like how Carrick is thoughtful about the academy boys this preseason. He’s not just giving them minutes, he’s also ensuring that the right gameplan is in place to showcase their strengths whilst minimizing their deficits.

Ethan Wheatley got a few minutes the other day and now, EPL teams are interested in him. It’s high time we sell that guy. He’s gone on enough loans and Man Utd will be too toxic for him with the way he misses chances.

I’d be happy to see Dan Gore play in the premiership. I too gbadun that guy.
