LordReed, you know how I have labored and labored to make this argument. Frankly its obvious. Anything that is eternal in the past will also be imutable. Only things which have a beginning can be subject to change. Its elementary in philosophical logic.
Really??!! This is entirely from my own intuitive common sense with no input from anywhere, without even intentional thought. I just KNEW anything that changes cannot always have existed. I haven't actually formulated exactly why, but I just intuitively knew it!

Good to see I'm not the only one. I wonder who else agrees with me and especially, WHY? (I still haven't formulated exactly why)

There is no actual portrait of Toussaint painted whilst he was alive only description. And Toussaint was not Igbo which is the central point. You're always taking credit for other's achievements as if its your own. If Igbos want to brag about leading slave revolts then dig up a hero that lead a revolt against the Aro Confederacy. grin That's what I love about Peter Edochie movies he focuses upon ending corruption and improving traditions in Igboland. You focus abroad some where you have no claim or stake.
See below. Besides contemporaries, he himself also described himself!

How about your photographs taken 200 years before photography was invented, Mr LIAR? grin

Nothing is eternal in the past in the sense that it has existed for infinite time. The closest we can get to eternity is the age of the of the universe itself. This is because the universe is the spacetime continuum thus there has never been a time when it didn't exist. This doesn't mean it has existed for an infinite amount of time

Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It is inherent in reality.
However, as a materialist, you are asking where the energy of the physical universe came from, I guess.

My answer is that it is a reflection and emanation of primordial transcendental eternal energy.

Here's a quick AI answer - (too busy sorry)

Eternal things are said to be immutable because they exist outside of time, have no potential to change, and are completely perfect. This idea comes from the core views of ancient thinkers like Plato and Parmenides.

Why Eternal Things Do Not Change

No Time: Eternal things do not live in time, so they cannot move from a past to a future state.

No Change: Change means losing an old trait and gaining a new one, which requires time and an unfinished nature.

Pure Being: Eternal objects have full reality and lack nothing, meaning they have no reason or way to change.

The Role of Perfection and Forms

Fixed Truth: Abstract ideas, like numbers or ideal shapes, always stay the same because they are completely true at all times.

No Decay: Things that can break or grow old are tied to the physical world, not the eternal world.

How about him saying something whose intrinsic nature is change and therefore has eternally changed in it's "unchangingness", if you get me

Just think, you have gone through college all the way to old age believing the Haitian revolution was led by Mulatto Creoles. But for this thread you'd have kept believing same till death. Now just think of all the false things you currently believe which will turn out to be false long after you're dead!

The only things whose intrinsic nature is change are things that are not self-existent.

What I mean is, for example, if the whole universe is inside God and God does not change but the universe can change inside God without God changing

**Toussaint Louverture: The Creole General of the Haitian Revolution**

### **1. His Creole Identity:**
- Toussaint *was* indeed a **Creole**, born free in Saint-Domingue (present-day Haiti) to an enslaved African mother and a French father—making him mixed (*mulatto*) by colonial definitions:
> - He was educated, bilingual (French/Creole), and had landownership before joining the revolution…
>> Unlike most African-born slaves who lacked such advantages! *(Source: Haitian Historians)*

### ***2**. Why This Matters***
Being a Creole:
> - Gave him prestige/social mobility that black Africans lacked…
>> But also made him distrusted by radical slave leaders post-revolution!

If your ancestors opposed Slavery then they would have lead the revolt in Africa. grin No, the truth is that your ancestors celebrated capturing slaves as long as it wasn't them.

Nigerian journalist and novelist Adaobi Tricia Nwaubani writes that one of her ancestors sold slaves, but argues that he should not be judged by today's standards or values.

Short presentational grey line
My great-grandfather, Nwaubani Ogogo Oriaku, was what I prefer to call a businessman, from the Igbo ethnic group of south-eastern Nigeria. He dealt in a number of goods, including tobacco and palm produce. He also sold human beings.

"He had agents who captured slaves from different places and brought them to him," my father told me.

Nwaubani Ogogo's slaves were sold through the ports of Calabar and Bonny in the south of what is today known as Nigeria.

People from ethnic groups along the coast, such as the Efik and Ijaw, usually acted as stevedores for the white merchants and as middlemen for Igbo traders like my great-grandfather.

They loaded and offloaded ships and supplied the foreigners with food and other provisions. They negotiated prices for slaves from the hinterlands, then collected royalties from both the sellers and buyers.

Toussaint wasn't a slave catcher or slave trader, he wasn't an African. Toussaint was a Creole. Some Creoles were born to slave mothers and that's just fact. It is not representative of their entire life because Toussaint was born free and his mother set free according to the Code de Nior, if the father is free then the child is free.

Like I said before and I would say anywhere including in Haiti and Nigeria, if any African was to have lead a slave revolt to end slavery then why didn't they lead revolts to do so in Africa? You quoted, When Things Fall Apart, I responded with, return to source to where they fell apart and put them back together. Instead of you trying to argue our history you should like Mr. Edochie concentrate yourself on Igbo culture there in Nigeria.

Mr known LIAR is at it again. Trying to confuse people! grin
The type of Creoles Toussaint Louverture and Jean-Jacques Dessalines were had nothing to do with your type of Creole. You are Creole because white men basically raped African women, while they were born to two enslaved fully African parents, but born in Haiti, making them Creole - which only denoted they were born in Haiti and not in Africa! See below

There was nothing like America-style chattel slavery anywhere in West Africa. So foolishly constantly asking why people didn't revolt slavery is symptomatic of your lying spirit. See below

As for the lady, what did you expect her to write?
That her lowly family narrowly escaped being shipped to America? Same way you lie about your ancestry is approximately what she's doing!

She's probably regurgitating the lies Europeans made up to justify their atrocities and ease their conscience. She needed to be published in the New Yorker and she wouldn't get published unless she wrote something provocative like that, plus make it personal. It is like rappers needing to sound dirty or labels won't push their music.
Always ask yourself who wrote what you're reading, who controlled the narrative. Example, your "Aro" didn't write anything. Europeans wrote everything!
