amnotapervert:
That was in 2015 and 2016, when the Canadian dollar was not as expensive against the naira as it is today.

However, the principle behind my visa refusal can still be applied today.

Calculate your total school fees for the entire duration of your program.

For example, if your tuition for a two year program is CAD $35,000, add that to the current Canadian living expense requirement, which is about CAD $22,895.

Then add another CAD $5,000 for miscellaneous expenses.

That means your minimum Proof of Funds should be around Minimum CAD $62,895 https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents/financial-support.html

Now convert that amount to naira, and you will have a realistic idea of how much you need....

As for someone you know who has cold feet because of the cost or the fear of rejection, they need to understand that life is full of "no's." Success comes from getting just one "yes." No successful person heard "yes" the very first time they tried something.

Rejection is part of the journey.

You need to develop an "I am looking for one yes" mentality because the Canadian journey comes with a lot of rejection.

From getting a study permit, to securing a work permit, to finding a job, to obtaining permanent residence, to becoming a Canadian citizen, to buying your first home, to purchasing an investment property, or even changing jobs you will hear many "no's."

The important thing is that you only need one "yes" at each stage to move forward.

So don't carry a mindset that is defeated by rejection. Don't let every "no" overpower you. Stay focused, keep improving, and keep moving forward until you get that one "yes."
Great advice and well said.

It seems IRCC doesn’t want us to resume this fall because I don’t understand this prolonged delays since April .

Watch how they will come for you because you mentioned 'no agent'.
I repeat, if you can read and understand simple instructions, you do not need an agent to apply for visa of any kind.

I have never traveled out. I do not have international travel history. I am not married, both parents are deceased, no kids, no landed property, no siblings, not working for any company in Nigeria and do not own one (I work remotely as a freelancer) no strong home ties yet I got my study permit approved at first attempt.

Even when someone advised me not to fill that schdule-1 application form because in the form you are asked of your travel history. I followed ChatGPT instructions and I filled it. Even when my school said I should use BorderPass agents to process my application I refused. I did everything on my own and ChatGPT has always been my go-to resource.

My application was approved after 4 weeks and 3 days of submitting the application.
Again, if you can read and understand simple instructions, you can do it by yourself.

Congratulations once again.

PS: I do not response to dms so nobody should send one.
PPS: Anyone chatting you privately claiming to be AbelAbdul, please expose the person. I will not private chat anyone in this forum.

Hi, how did you prove home ties, can you send me your sop if possible?

When I get to Toronto this month I am going to create a thread here documenting (with proof) everything I did (step-by-step). I am not saying what I did was the best way but that was my own way of going about my application process. So stay tune.
When I applied I had fear that it was going to be denied due to no strong home ties. I didn't worry about POF because I have above the required amount.

I saw someone here said IRCC only accept bank statements from commercial banks and not freelancing platforms I just laughed.

I started my application in April but submitted it in May. I couldn't submit it that April because Me and ChatGPT were going back and forth on my SOP. The course I am going for is not related to what I read in school and not close related to what I am currently doing. Each day me and ChatGPT keep finetuning the SOP to make it make sense.

As for home ties, since I do not have any close relations, no landed property, I discussed my situation with ChatGPT and it guided me on how to write on home ties.
I will document everything make I just land first because it is not yet over until I scale through the border officers at the airport.

PS: No one should private chat me I will not answer,.
PPS: Anyone chatting you and claiming I am the one, expose the person. I will not private chat anyone here.

Just do the right thing and you will get your permit approved. Say NO to Agents whether licensed or unlicensed agents. Remember, using an agent is not a guarantee that your permit would be approved instead, using an agent could get you not just refusal but a ban because some of these agents might intentionally or intentionally modify your documents which could result in a ban.

Till tomorrow, Cubana Chief Priest with all is money, cannot enter US not because he committed a crime but because of the mess an agent did on his application.

I'm curious - How did you address your weak home ties in your LOE because the Canadians expect everybody to return home after graduation. Regardless of the PGWP.

The reason I refused to do upfront medicals was because I had 70% feelings that my application would be refused due to home ties. I remember a friend advising me to rush and do small court wedding and use marriage as home ties. I wanted to but ChatGPT said if the marriage is not genuine I shouldn't. Me sef I shock as my permit was approved,.

That is my application form.
No wife
No children
No parents
No siblings

When I arrive in Canada I will create a thread. Whatever I will document in the thread is not what I want anybody to do. It's what I did and it worked for me. It might not work for others.

I told them I was returning back to work in Nigeria. Not return back cos of family. Of course I didn't tell them I have a family. I used coming back home to get a job and work.

Mine was 5 working days in Abuja.

An agent on this thread who issues his clients Canadian Permanent Study Permit (CPSP) would say you are lying because according to him, the minimum duration is 2 weeks.

I just dey pity people falling for these agents. Why should you go to an agent when you can read and understand simple instructions.

I believe this was me asking some months ago. My USD savings are on one of those fintechs (Raenest, Cleva, Grey, etc) popularly used by remote workers in Nigeria to receive their salary.

If you are earning legitimately, show them. From my application, I'm meant to believe that IRCC does not give a fvck whether ur account statement if from a commercial bank or a freelancing pay sites.

Just show these 3 things.

1. You have the money
2. The money was earned legally and the source where it was earned from is a legitimate source
3. You can access the money at any time.

I just did Biometrics a few days ago, 2 days after submission. So I am looking at a month or two wait time. Hopefully less. Did upfront medical before submitting.

Yes. All 3 checks out for me. I paid my 2 years tuition upfront. Over $40k CAD and I still have a substantial USD savings plus my Naira savings to more than cover travel and Canadian living expenses including rent. Single, no kids and self-sponsored.

Your profile looks good. Hopefully you get your visa very soon. You don't have to worry so much about it. It's easier said than done though.

I believe I have gotten it. My mind is at rest. If I tell you what God has done for me since 2024, especially this year. You will be 100% amazed. I have told Him what I want and left everything to Him.
