POF = Tuition fee for a year + CAD 22,895 The above is the least amount you should present as POF, it is good to add extra as "others" eg an additional CAD 3,000 All the bast legendbarak: |

Since it is next year you are aiming at, I will suggest the following: If you have an active account, you can start building up the available balance and turnover on the account to avoid using lump sum deposits. You can use more than 1 bank account, most people use say, a business account, personal account and a dom account (this is not in anyway a standard requirement). You can also use only 1 bank account, Whatsoever number or combination of bank accounts you use, so long as the balance in the account is about to show that you have funds to cover your son's tuition fee and living expenses for the first year, you will be fine. You will need to convince the VO officer about how you make your income by providing additional supporting documents that applies to you. This could be; 1. Payslips if you are an employee 2. Proof of Business Ownership and business transactions if you are self employed. If you go through this thread, you will find more details on how to go about preparing your documents when the time comes. All the bast Enyinne: |
Good evening, I need everyone's advise/guidance I was admitted into 3 universities in Canada(Msc) 1) University of Niagara Falls - Data Analytics 2)Trent University - Data Analytics 3) University Canada West - Data Analytics. I wish to go to Trent, however, it has the highest fees about $32k yearly. I chose university with more than 16 months courses because of my husband (SOWP). We have resulted to going for University of Canada West, do we have anyone that is currently in this Uni or that attended this Uni. I'd like to check with him or her, the culture of the school and if we have chosen the right path |

Enyinne:Please I suggest you view the video below. My advise to you would be to send your child to a solid private university in Nigeria for his undergrad and then to Canada for his postgraduate when he is more matured. Hard drugs are too easily available in Canada. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xtU-89pA8c |

Congrats on the three admissions . A few honest points to weigh before you finalize UCW: 1. All three schools are PGWP-eligible and a 16+ month master's keeps your husband's SOWP intact, so on the immigration side you're safe with any of them. You've done that homework correctly. 2. But please note the difference in the type of school. Trent is a public research university. UCW and UNF are private, for-profit institutions. Canadian employers know this distinction, and for Data Analytics roles (already a competitive market there), the name on the certificate can affect how quickly you land your first role. That first job also drives your CEC/Express Entry work experience timeline. 3. Run the real math, not just tuition. Trent is in Peterborough (lower rent than Vancouver, where UCW is based). Vancouver rent for a couple can easily swallow the $10k+ per year you think you're saving on fees. When you add cost of living, the gap between Trent and UCW may be much smaller than it looks on paper. 4. If Trent's fees are truly out of reach even after that math, UCW is still a workable path — people have used it and moved on to PR. Just go in with clear eyes: your job search effort will need to be stronger, so start building your portfolio (SQL, Power BI, Python projects) before you even land. My honest take: if you can stretch to Trent without endangering your proof of funds or settlement money, stretch. If you cannot, take UCW and outwork the certificate. Wishing you and your husband a smooth process. |

Enyinne:It depends on whether you want him to go to a college or a university. He will definitely need his WAEC result to gain admission to either one. However, colleges may be easier, as some universities may not want to admit him because he is only 16 and not 18/19 yet. So college may be your best bet, but you can try both anyway. At 16, IMO and anyone can bash me for this, but I will speak from my heart I believe he is too young to school abroad on his own, except and solely except you have enough money to sustain him throughout school without him having to work in Canada for even a day, including during the holidays Plus you have a family member here who can keep an eye on him 24/7 for the most part... if you can not do a surprise visit to your childs place from Nigerian to Canada hmmm There is a serious drug epidemic among young Nigerians in Canada . I know the media doesn't talk about it because it isn't fancy or something they want to highlight, but it is something worth thinking about. I believe this lady just spoke my mind. See the link to her video. I agree with what she said in the video and all her proposed solutions, but who am I to tell you what to do? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xtU-89pA8c I am not discouraging you in any way. But if you don't have the serious cash and you don't have someone here who will genuinely look after your child and treat him as their own, please let him do his BSc at a private university in Nigeria. He can then be 21/22 and come to Canada for his master's. Canada post-2020 has really changed oo but what do I know about anything |

legendbarak:Minimum POF = tuition for your entire program (even if it is a 2-year program) + $22,895 living expenses + $5,000 miscellaneous. You know why I suggest having the full amount of your school fees available: unlike before, IRCC is really reducing the number of students they are accepting, by around 83%. So, if you don't have your full tuition amount available, remember that you are essentially competing with people who already have their tuition money in their accounts . Think of it that way. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/reports-statistics/statistics-open-data/immigration-stats/students-workers.html As for the documents, you can find those easy People here would be able to tell you, but if your relative wants to sponsor you, it would be necessary to establish a history of that relative supporting your education in the past, if applicable. What IRCC will really want to understand is: Why would this person want to spend that much money on you? If you can clearly answer that question for IRCC and provide evidence to support it, that would be very helpful. As for the exchange rate, use Google to check the current rate. CAD is really doing badly against the naira right now..give or take its like Naira 975 to Naira 980 2 months ago it was Naira 1000

Good morning house. I got an approval 3 days ago and I submitted my passport for stamping two days ago. It is for Study Permit. I want to know if it is compulsory to book return flight ticket for study permit holders in Canada. Can I go ahead with just a one-way ticket please? It's urgent as airfares are increasing as September approaches. Any input from our seniors and experienced Students here would be highly appreciated[Congratulations on your approval! 🎉 For the flight ticket, it’s best to confirm the current entry requirements and your specific situation before booking, especially since you already submitted your passport. If you’d like, I can connect you with someone who can clarify the travel requirements for study permit holders. |

Mirah97:Book one way ticket. returning ticket will not stop border officers from sending you back if they want to. If your papers are real and your intents, u do not need to book any returning ticket. I have watched videos of border officers interviewing students. None ever asked of ur return ticket. They are MOST likely to ask 1. your suppose in Canada 2. if you have enough funds 3. your LOA 4. Accommodation cc Ifymoto |

Enyinne:Living expenses of 22,895 can be covered through the GIC. Then, you present your own bank statement as proof of sponsorship, alongside documents proving your relationship. |
