Do you people actually think that we are happy that Nigeria lost because we have been calling out the ills in NFF and the ineptitude of Madugu? Una well so? Lmao |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by JohnBullMySon: 8:16pm On Aug 09 |
TheSuperNerd:I would argue that although it was a factor. That's not why we lost. The team was playing too aggressively and too eager to take the ball up. And panic set in way too early. Sometimes you gotta calm down and play football. Simple fluid passing will pluck out this Cameroun defence. This thing is very common with our local coaches. They like attack so much that they drive the team into panic mode once trouble is looming. |

19 shots. 9 on target. 4 big chances missed. But we got undone by just one setpiece moment. Nnadozie has been the best for a while but we did not see her best at this Wafcon 2026. Unfortunate. Madugu shaa... When the going got tough and we kept missing chance after chance, we could have adjusted our strategy just a bit. Gone a little dirty if need be. Work our buildup to the wings and overload their box to draw fouls within. Play smart. Anyway, like I said... this is now Morocco's title to lose. They never wanted to play us so this result is Joy to their ears and hearts. Up next for the Super Falcons is a date with South Africa for a WC Place. Yep! The 2 teams that stopped Morocco at the last 2 Wafcons will battle for a WC Ticket.

We lost this game because we've been poor offensively all tournament. I saw the signs from the group stages but didn't want to comment on it as some will see it as a dig on Madugu. All tournament we've been unconvincing in front of goal. We scored a total of 9 goals almost half of which were from the penalty spot. The other goals were also not a product of brilliant execution. Kanu's goal against Malawi in my opinion was a fluke goal. We were lucky. Oshoala's goal was at best a good goal but even that came from a long ball to Ajibade who then tried to find Oshoala. The lazy Zambian defense made that goal possible cause there was no way in heck Oshoala should have outrun those girls. Also the ball accidentally hit her leg into the neat when she couldn't convert her first attempt. Monday's goal was the best executed in my opinion. Rinsola with the dribble and pushed the ball into the next and found Gift for a great flick. The other goals were similar to the Oshoala goal and the quality of opposition being faced in Egypt makes it a little less impressive. So all tournament, we've been poor offensively as much as we were defensively so it's no suprise the outcome of today's game. |

TBH some of us don’t care about you people’s issue with the coach, we just see the hard work of the girls. |

JohnBullMySon:I got annoyed as well, seeing the numerous long balls and lack of enough players in the box when crosses were sent in, but I wasn't surprised because they've basically played that way since the tournament started. It's crazy seeing players at National level being unable to string up to 5 accurate passes. Anyway, the rest of Africa will be so happy right now. Looking at the terrible officiating in this tournament, they definitely got tired of seeing us win all the time. They got bored of us. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 8:22pm On Aug 09 |
If the NFF intends to sack Madugu, please let them do that this week. This isn't a call for his sack though everyone here knows my position on him being coach. Point is we can't afford to go through coaching changes closer to August if we have any intention of getting one of the playoff spots. If they plan to stick with him that's fine too and we'll all brace up for the outcome. What I won't want is. For them to hire a new coach 1 month to the playoffs. We can't afford to be haphazard like they did with the Super Eagles. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:24pm On Aug 09 |
Oh no. I am not blaming Nnadozie for the loss. I am just emphasizing that was the moment the game really went against us. We chased the game from that moment on and could not catch it again. It is the failure of the coaches that we lost. Yes, we created chances but I know they should have adjusted our chance creating approach to confuse the Cam defence. We could have played smarter, trickier, a little dirtier, more patient and not rushed. Work the ball to their box on both wings, draw fouls in and around their boxes since they love to go physical. Alas, Madugu and co could not think outta the box. JohnBullMySon: |

I have said it severally until people start getting sanction / punish for incompetency and complacency nothing will change . The team was setup to fail from the start, the head of NFF and his entire team need to go. This is the minimum thing that needs to happen then we can start looking at the coach and his team. |

To be honest, I don't even feel bad that we lost. If we played good football, maybe I would. Today was just another one of the horrendous football we've been playing this tournament. On the flip side, it's crazy how my dream came to pass though, at least partly. Perhaps I might have a future in the prophetic ministry haha. FiveFootNinja: |

Smh. This is historic for both a coach and an NFF president. Massaging rubbish to soften the truth should not be among us. We can't grow that way. This was set in motion after the last world cup. Perhaps it is best to admit many have the gift of foresight Should it really even be a gift when all you need do is be critical about analysing beyond sentiments? What im currently afraid of is this might be the beginning of rebuilding process. I'm not really ready for that especially if na Gusau and Maiduguri go dey in charge. |

TheSuperNerd:So whoever wins will have to play intercontinental playoff? Just like super eagles? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 8:37pm On Aug 09 |
If anything at all, based on the "handlers" of the female cadet teams this same passes problem is there since 2022. Same long balls trope for u17 and u20. There was some difference with the Moshood/Harmony set though. |

PDPGuy:The question is, can we even beat south Africa? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:46pm On Aug 09 |
The path is long. Preliminary Intercontinental Playoffs first involving 2 CAF Teams, 2 AFC Teams, 1 conmebol team (low ranked) and one OFC team. 2 advance from that to the final Intercontinental Playoffs to join 4 teams drawn bye. These 4 teams will include 1 conmebol team (higher ranked), 1 Uefa team and 2 concacaf teams. 6 teams, 3 single K.O. games... 3 WC Tickets. mostob: |

Only if Mr President can interfere with the forthcoming NFF elections and bring in competent hands. From the look of things, Gusau and his goons will continue at the helms. Only Mr. President can save Nigerian football. Perhaps a peaceful protest can force his hands. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:49pm On Aug 09 |
To even have the chance to battle this stressful path to a WC Ticket, Nigeria gotta stop SA on August 13. CIV vs Loser of Ghana/Malawi will battle for the other CAF spot to the Preliminary Playoffs. TheSuperNerd: |
