Has anyone experienced this? by Unclebayo(op): 9:42pm On Aug 09
Good day, pals.

I’m currently a 300L student, and honestly, there’s this girl who always checks up on me. I mean, every single time, whether I’m doing well or going through a rough patch, she’s always there for me.

I don’t have any feelings for her, and I don’t think she has any feelings for me either. It’s just pure friendship.

Right now, I’m going through a down period, so I deleted WhatsApp to avoid distractions and focus on myself and bounce back.

But somehow, this girl still messages me on the second WhatsApp account I use anonymously.

So, I’ve been thinking that if I eventually make it and bounce back properly, I’d like to buy her a new phone or do something meaningful for her, just to appreciate her for being genuinely loyal and always checking up on me.

I don’t have a girlfriend, and honestly, I’m not looking for one. And she’s not even someone I see myself dating.

Is this way of thinking normal, or am I overreacting?

Why must you turn a good genuine friendship into a transactional one?

One innocent kind gesture from a girl and you're already thinking of emptying your pockets...🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️... Can't you reciprocate the same energy without clearing your bank account?

Good idea.
But it may make her change.
Women are dynamic in nature.
Since both of u aren't dating, Do something little but meaningful for her first and watch her.

I'm Timon's voice, "I can see what's happening (what?)
And they don't have a clue (who?)
They'll fall in love and here's the bottom line
Our trio's down to two (oh)
The sweet caress of twilight
There's magic everywhere
And with all this romantic atmosphere
Disaster's in the air
Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world for once in perfect harmony
With all its living things
So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The truth about my past, impossible
She'd turn away from me
He's holding back, he's hiding
But what, I can't decide
Why won't he be the king I know he is
The king I see inside
Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things
Can you feel the love tonight?
You needn't look too far
Stealing through the night's uncertainties
Love is where they are
And if he falls in love tonight
It can be assumed
His carefree days with us are history
In short, our pal is doomed"🤣🤣🤣🤣

Just like someone said, 2 of you like each other, but lack courage to open it up.

No woman who is not your family, would be monitoring you up and down, in other to know your well being.
Know that and have peace. Infact, they see such gesture as a way of being cheap before a man.

If you help lady who doesn't have feeling for you, the highest is to appreciate it immediately and that's all, she would remember you the next time, she needs you. You can do this finding from students you helped in an exam hall, how the 2 genders behave towards you after the exam period.

Don't blame him for that. I saw something that said "men are so starved of genuine appreciation that if a girl does something as simple as be nice to them, they think the girl is in love." And that's absolutely true. If a girl being this nice and caring to a guy was common, he wouldn't have thought towards that direction.

Same energy you're putting in typing this, I hope that same energy is reflecting in study. Else, when you finish school, you go know what's up.

Why must he send it to his parents when he's still a student and needs it more than them? This thing of parents overburdening their children with responsibilities over their own failures also has to stop.

Growing up, they also had a chance to establish themselves but failed and gave up... He can only be able to look after them once he's graduated, has a stable job with a good income.

OP listen to this, men should never be thinking this way, this is why women will take advantage of men most times.

Every positive and genuine feeling you have for someone of the opposite sex must not lead to relationship.

As you get older you will see that a true genuine friendship can even be more beneficial in many ways than relationships and even your relationships with siblings and other family members.

Please follow your heart and it is these small pleasures of helping someone with no strings attached that you will remember and smile about in your older days, especially after God has rewarded you.

From your post, I can already deduce that you dont know what's important in your life right now.

Na how to satisfy woman be your problem now. Which is very bad.

Face your book and make money.

'It’s just pure friendship'. I would have said, keep it at that, but here you seem to be asking if or not you should initiate ..

NB: Get her that gift - not necessarily big stuff. Let her know you really appreciate her, and with time also let her know your challenges grin
She may just help you connect with your desire, who knows! She gat friends bah?

You like her, else you wouldn't have gone this far to create this topic. Your just in denial , U may not be really attracted to her but you really like her at the same time and your looking for external validations.
My advice if you see a good woman , hold her tight ,there's a pandemic of rubbish women outside now.

Dey there dey help her think, girl when done already marry you for her mind. She knows you're single and available now and the only way to show appreciation is to chew her mercilessly. Trust me I have been there, I saw all the blinding lights but based on say I no dey knack neighbors I no fit run her matter until she caught me with someone else in my apartment and all hell broke lose. Till date I'm still an enemy just because I didn't honor her invitation to knack. Nothing pain woman pass that thing so your own is even good you're in school no much pressure na just boyfriend and girlfriend matter unlike mine that was in the real world where things can quickly escalate from knacking to by force daddy roles grin

Honor that girl and divide her red sea and stop living in denial here, but on a second note if you don't see her as someone you can really date just pipe and swipe or keep piping until she's fed up and breaks up with you not knowing she's been dating herself all these while or better still try dating her for the sake of it as you're both still in school, so she can't be having any funny schemes up her sleeves
