Why cry? She does not need it. She has been the best for years and is still a top GK. Collected Back to back to back best GK in Africa awards 3x in a row (2023, 2024, 2025). She has not lost anything. This was just not her tournament. That is all Michaely have had a brilliant tournament so kudos to her. It's not like we have not had other top African GKs shine in other years too. Even Andile Dlamini was called the best when SA finally lifted thwle Wafcon and she is very good. Nnadozie still came back and showed why she is the boss. So chill... dont rush to nail a coffin that does not exist. Chiamaka Nnadozie is not done. She is still 25. Schemerkhiz: |

Dont make excuses for that man. He failed yet again. 2 tournaments now as hosts too. He could not even muster a single big chance vs Cameroon except a soft penalty given. Schemerkhiz: |

For the FIFA Women's World cup 2027 playoffs game, Nigeria must beat South Africa tomorrow. Several possible opponents are already known. Asia’s two play-off representatives are Uzbekistan and the Chinese Taipei, while Papua New Guinea are Oceania’s representatives after finishing second behind New Zealand. South America’s two play-off teams are Venezuela and Ecuador, with Venezuela finishing third and Ecuador fourth in the 2025-26 CONMEBOL Women’s Nations League. Ecuador, the lower-ranked side, enter the first stage, while Venezuela receive a place in the second stage. Nigeria could therefore face the other African qualifier, Uzbekistan, the Chinese Taipei, Papua New Guinea or Ecuador in the first stage. The exact pairing will depend on FIFA’s draw and ranking system, so these are possible opponents rather than confirmed fixtures. That means Nigeria would need to win against South Africa, negotiate the first intercontinental stage and then win another decisive match in February 2027 to reach Brazil. |

TheSuperNerd:Hopefully we’re going to get back the Nnadozie we used to know and also other goalkeepers still need to Step up Abeg… Lack of competition from other goalies is also a problem… We once had Precious Dede, Tochukwu OLUEHI and Alaba Jonathan as the SuperFalcons three regular goalkeepers at some point.. |

TheSuperNerd:I’m not making excuses for him, am only stating the difference between Spain and Morocco And again he will certainly be sent packing by Morocco 🇲🇦… |

Chaiaeee Madugu 🤦♂️ I think Cameroon 🇨🇲 played only 3 friendlies in 2026, Nigeria 🇳🇬 played 5 friendlies, But it's Cameroon who are in the final |

Hopefully Oloko and Erhabor can push her as we expect or some prodigy burst onto the scene like Chiamaka herself did in 2018 through our youth teams. The Super Falcons have never lacked a World Class or Near World Class GK... From Ann Agumagu Chiejine to Precious Dede to Alaba Jonathan to Tochukwu Oluehi and now Chiamaka Nnadozie. Our GK pipeline no go ever finish. Schemerkhiz: |

Well, Moroccans are impatient lots but time will tell. I mean, they did away with Reynald Pedros who is now coaching CIV. They went for a coach who literally won the World Cup. I wonder who they go for now better than Vilda if they do consider sacking him. My advice would be keep him. You still have a WC to prep for. Schemerkhiz: |

TheSuperNerd:I don't think anyone is saying she's better than our Chiamaka o. This is just Michaely tournament, inwont be shocked if Chiamaka is even one of her heroines/idol. Heard she was a striker too like Chiamaka. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 12:34am On Aug 13 |
Nooooo. That is not Michaely oo. The Striker turned GK is the Senegalese GK, Adji Ndiaye. Another really good GK from the African continent. And Michaely is not even the first Cam GK to wow me. Annette Ngo Ndom from the 2014 tournament was a beast. Won Best GK at that Wafcon too. AndSunGorilla: |

Since Morocco say they don’t want to host WAFCON, it’s time for Nigeria to step up to the plate and bid for the 2028 tournament (or 2029, if FIFA can’t put it in their 28 calendar) We already have stadia like the Teslim Balogun stadium (whose renovation will be complete by next month), Agege stadium, Remo Stars stadium (Ikenne, Ogun state), and the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo. |

AndSunGorilla:Nation fit sit up but if the mediocre sports system is not dumped for something fresh like mint, menthol and air, we rinse and repeat. We need to choose between it can only get worse versus it can only get better. |

Scenes where the teams for the Caf playoffs are now the ones that will do Africa proud at the world cup while the 4 semifinalists go to just mark Attendance and drink Ls and goals. ![]() (Raises hands like Sabinus) |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 1:17am On Aug 13 |
daveP:Haha That scenario would be almost analogous to how the Super Eagles were the best African side at the 1998 World Cup, despite missing 2 consecutive AFCONs 😁 |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 1:22am On Aug 13 |
daveP:Like do you get… The Triple O Oparanozie, Oshoala and Ordega… Pace, Power and deadly Finishers |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 1:25am On Aug 13 |
PDPGuy:Ona never fit sign better coach, give team better preparation you Dey talk about Hosting WAFCON… If they need host, the likes of Cote’d’ivoire 🇨🇮, Senegal 🇸🇳, South Africa 🇿🇦, Egypt 🇪🇬 and Algeria 🇩🇿 are there to step up!! |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 1:40am On Aug 13 |
Schemerkhiz:I hear you. But we can walk and chew gum at the same time. The respective state governments can bear most of the hosting costs, while the NFF/NSC would mainly focus on paying a decent coach for the team |

Sorry, but Nnadozie’s reign is over. This Cameroonian young lady is by far, the best African keeper I have seen in a very long time. Nnadozie was good, but not as good as this lady. Player of the game awards against Nigeria and now Morocco. Only keeper to have saved four (4) penalty in a game. Fantastic performances. Phenomenal goalkeeping. Golden glove front runner, without a doubt! It would be a travesty if she remains at SC Benfica. I see her being Africa’s best female goalie for several years to come. TheSuperNerd: |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AndSunGorilla: 2:26am On Aug 13 |
TheSuperNerd:Na wetin the BEIN commentator talk o. He was referring to when she was much younger and still growing up. According to him, he said a coach told Michaely that since she was growing tall, that she should consider goalie and that made her switch. MODIFIED Just corroborated the story from CAF's website too. And to your point, the Senegalese keeper played professionally as a striker but not Michaely and I think Chiamaka too. |

GeneralDae:a nigerian team that opened their defence wall wide like elastic womanhole for their opponents to score |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by potland: 4:01am On Aug 13 |
solonnachi:its a lie. Nigeria will not face another african team. Two african teams cannot meet in the preliminary stage |
