Seunpapa65:Arsenal are the real deal right now, they're the team to beat. Their transfer strategy is enviable. |

Yemike:If it was United that signed this one now, we know the kind of comments we will read here... |

TrebleChamp:Facts... It's only the signing of Santos that had me in doubt, but from what I read/heard of him and even from the other players, he looks like a solid addition. I saw a video today where a couple of our players were asked who was going to be the breakout star this season, and Santos had a couple of mentions. |

Afrodoc2 Hearing James Scanlon and Habeeb Ogunneye are in talks with Arsenal. I’d prefer they move to teams where they have more chances of playing senior football. I really liked Scanlon. How would you rate him vs Ajayi when he was still an U-18 scholar? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 8:09pm On Aug 20 |
Leyqute:They are not the same level of talent just based on physical attributes alone. Scanlon has decent technique and is one of the best finishers we have produced in recent years but lacks the speed, acceleration, or dribbling to excel as a winger at the senior level. A recurring issue with our academy players. In the U-18s Scanlon was probably more productive but the eye test says Ajayi is the one with elite potential. I think both Scanlon and Ogunleye are destined for the lower leagues but Assanal are signing them mainly for their Un-21s and plan to flip them for profit later. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 8:40pm On Aug 20 |
afrodoc:So Noah Ajayi is rated that high? I didn’t watch academy footy that much last season. The glimpse I had of him in the final against City he looked a bit subdued. That City squad no be beans. God knows how much they’re going to sell that Heskey boy— if he doesn’t break into the first team given that Doku is injured and Marmoush seems to be on his way out. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 8:42pm On Aug 20 |
afrodoc:I’m okay with that as long as Scanlon and Ogunneye become professional footballers somewhere in a top league. We should sha not sell them for peanuts. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:16pm On Aug 20 |
Leyqute:Reigan Heskey has already moved to Germany. Just under 2m pounds but potentially rising to 8m with add-ons. They also added buy back, sell on , and matching rights clauses. Ajayi is moody and inconsistent. He can be quiet for 40 mins and then next thing he is dribbling from opposition half and firing a shot in from 30 yards. Scanlon is your consistent grafter but he just does not have Ajayi’s ceiling. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:24pm On Aug 20 |
Leyqute:I read that Ogunneye is free with 40% sell on clause. Scanlon is about 1m pounds what I read. Over the past couple of years due to Brexit effect clubs in England have become aggressive about raiding each other’s academies. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 9:25pm On Aug 20 |
afrodoc:Wow. Didn’t see that coming. I can see him going for 70m in 2 years. He is going to farm that league. I hope to watch more academy footy this coming season. I have a feeling we’ll uncover another gem. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 9:32pm On Aug 20 |
afrodoc:And to be honest, we haven’t made huge losses on those academy buys. Hannibal Mejbri was an expensive academy kid when we bought him from Monaco. We sold him for double the price with a 50% sell on clause. Even the wayward Garnacho, we bought him for 100k and sold him to Chelsea for 40m. Amad was the most expensive one but I’m confident we’ll get at least 50m if we were to sell him. Same with Heaven, Chido Obi, etc. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:35pm On Aug 20 |
Leyqute:I am not so sure about our incoming 1st year scholars this season especially in the attacking areas. If Noah Ajayi and JJ Gabriel don’t play Under-18 this season we might lack firepower. Watch out for Ngwashi the CB though. He is more complete than Kukonki and Armer but injuries have set him back. If he has an injury free season it might be a big year for him. I am more excited about next season. We have some exciting wingers coming up. 4 of them. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 9:41pm On Aug 20 |
afrodoc:I have a feeling they’ll surprise you. Obviously should be a huge season for JJG but a few other stars will spring up. That Armer guy is too Maguire-like. I feel like it’s a bad thing for him. I hope the transition to the U-21s will be smooth for some of our guys. Talents die in that squad. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:33pm On Aug 20 |
Leyqute:You are probably right. Development especially at that age is not linear. A 6/10 15yr old can become a 9/10 16yr old and vice versa. Yeah Armer’s lack of pace is the main thing that could hold him back. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Yemike(m): 9:09am On Aug 21 |
CrystalTiger:Spurs on the beat again. They even wan sign Marmoush join. Top 4 go hard small dis season as Chelsea and Spurs no dey any European competition. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Jamiuokolaa: 9:11am On Aug 21 |
Yemike:Their coach would be under enormous pressure. Any poor string of results laidis, na sack No one would even remember that he saved them from relegation last season. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CrystalTiger(m): 9:18am On Aug 21 |
Yemike:I think the blue drunkards are the ones with real firepower to give people headaches.. These attackers spurs are signing look very average to me |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 10:37am On Aug 21 |
Tottenham are definitely going to make top 4 with how serious they are especially with De Zerbi working his magic. They have upgraded their defense, midfield and now attack with solid players. |

CrystalTiger:How is Savinho for £75M money laundry but Baleba that is rumoured to cost at least £70M fair price? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CrystalTiger(m): 11:10am On Aug 21 |
Bombblacks:Have you watched Savinho at all? An attacker with 2 goals in 53games at such price? Haba |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Bombblacks: 11:24am On Aug 21 |
CrystalTiger:It's the current price of the market and he's just 22 with elite dribbling ability. Baleba is going for at least 70M despite being poor last season. Fernandes went for 85 and West Ham were relegated. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by TrebleChamp(m): 1:02pm On Aug 21 |
Looks like the Baleba deal is off because of the injury status, weyre board did not check his condition before giving fans hope... |

Ethan Williams has gone to Peterborough. MUfC didn’t disclose his fee but Laurie Whitwell said the fee was around £750k. https://www.manutd.com/en/news/ethan-williams-departs-for-efl-club-peterborough-united

Bombblacks:If we were the ones paying the same amount for Savinho and Spurs paying 70m for Baleba, I am sure you'd have issues with it. The truth is that while both are overpriced, Baleba has done more in the EPL. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by LordAdam16: 4:54pm On Aug 21 |
TrebleChamp:that could be the ploy declare interest in a player they did not want to sign to dowse the uproar after the milan loss i've made my peace with what appears to be ineos' objective for the season secure top 4 again and UCL knockout figure out who to discard then incrementally build during the next transfer window the likes of rashford, shaw, maz, yoro this squad is good enough for top 4 next year or in two years they talk about title race and UCL SF but consistent and comfortable top 4 finish seems to be the primary goal i feel like it is when they are serious about title races and deep UCL runs that they'll make marquee signings like truly break the bank for someone like barcola, vinicius, diaz, mendes, pedri, de jong be able to sell the "we want you as an anchor for a title/ucl challenge" project -Lord |
