Afrodoc is that Carrick kid in the U-18 in anyway related to Michael Carrick?

They defeated Charlton Athletic U-18 3-0 on Tuesday. Camacho scored the first goal. Junior Brown assisted the second.

Camacho looks talented but I feel physicality might be a stumbling block to senior football J. Brown looks like he might make the transition more easily due to his physicality.

That Watson kid who played LB looks like he’s going to be an top athlete.

In the highlights posted by the club, some dudes were speaking Yoruba in the background 😀
That is his son Jacey Carrick. He was the captain of the Under-16s and plays as a DLP like his father but is left footed. Very similar to Carrick in style but smaller. His technique and passing are very good, but he needs to develop his physicality. He is just a 1st year scholar though so there is still time.

Camacho is also a 1st year scholar, so he still has some time on his side to improve his physicality. He has some height about him but is skinny.

Brown is a 2nd year scholar and this might partly explain why he looks stronger this year than the others. Hopefully he makes better use of his opportunities as he was overshadowed last year by Ajayi and JJ Gabriel. He needs to add more end product to his game as he is the senior winger this year. If i was being honest i think his pathway to the senior team will be blocked by more exciting talents ahead of him and a few coming next season.

Watson is intelligent and keeps the ball quite well, but he is the one that i think will lose out due to physicality. I think he lacks a bit of pace going forward and even defending quick wingers.

Smart transfer dealings from INEOS. While other clubs are spending big sums on average players we have rebuilt the Midfield for a reasonable amount without overspending. Now they should be enough funds to get a left back before the end of the window.
When United finish 8th in May 2027, don’t blame Carrick.

If he had stayed fit during his loan, we would have gotten a little more for him.

This is the best for all parties. He won't develop as our 6th choice CM.

There is a 3-yr window of opportunity between ages 18 and 21 for the academy players with potential to stake a claim to a 1st team slot. Once you miss that window that is it.

Still doesn’t mean he should go for that low price. We should focus on giving these lads the best platform to develop during that crucial age gap. They’ll integrate better into the first team and won’t go for a pittance when we sell.

There is limited evidence of his ability in senior football. It has been injury after injury even when he went on loan. He has missed 26 games in the last 2 seasons due to injury. I don't think it is a bad fee for an unproven and potentially injury-prone academy graduate.

Im not saying 3m isn’t a good fee given his circumstances, I’m only saying we could’ve maximized his potential and gotten a bigger fee.

Like most of our U21s, I don’t think he was properly managed or taken care of in his late teens and early twenties.

Once he got that run in the first team, we should’ve given him more attention (esp. medically) so he continues developing. He would’ve developed into a decent player and gone for a bigger fee.

We focus too much on prepping them for first team football here instead of helping them become a proper football athlete anywhere.

We should play them in carabao then. Or cameo appearances in games where their inclusion won’t hurt them or us.

Yup.

The club needs to make the younglings be prepare to be called up, as they approach 18-19.
Even if it's two minutes, let them touch games. You won't know who's ready till they enter the pitch.

£123m for Barcola 😱, Liverpool will surely win the EPL and CL this season. Real Madrid already saw what Diomande can bring in the last game, average players getting signing for crazy fees. Money laundering has entered this thing....

Our U-18 are 1-0 up against Everton. Shah.

Case in point, Wirtz. He's a good player but never a £100m player. £60/70m max. But this is the market and the premier league has always been filled with teams that overpay for players. We're the oga of that.

Not anymore. INEOS doesn't do those crazy fees Woodward use to do before.

God forbid make this thing happen to Manchester United. Internet go hang.

With all the expensive signings. It'll take them like 5-10 matches before they can balance that's if they don't have difficult teams within those space.
