MaxInDHouse:Your question in case you have forgotten was MaxInDHouse:Your argument is that no non isrealites in the bible did any miracles. This assumes that ability to do miracles is just within the Isrealites. Now, I flipped the Question to you. Your question is silly as NOT every Isrealites has done any miracles in the BIBLE. So, if not every Isrealites has done any miracles in the bible, your standard of finding non-Isrealites doing miracles is at best SILLY! Sorry! |

TenQ:We are not Israelites so anyone claiming he wants to perform miracles like Israelites prophets should take note of Jesus' utterance when he said: “I was not sent to anyone except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Matthew 15:24 So it's delusional thinking you can actually do what is reserved only for Israelites. Meanwhile after the destruction of Jerusalem miraculous healing stopped. WHY? Because the people God made the promised miraculous healing lives there but after the inhabitants rejected Jesus that glory was taken away from them {Matthew 21:43} never to be given to anyone again people who took over from them weren't given such power. Timothy was a strong believer he was sick and no miraculous healing stopped his sickness instead he was asked to use MEDICINE! 1Timothy 5:23 You love deceiving yourself yet you can't mention the name of your church where REAL MIRACLES are performed!😟 |

MaxInDHouse:You lied or let me say you got it wrong.. It's not only the prophets but every genuinely born again child of God that will perform signs - check out Jesus statement in mark 16:15-20 Beware of preachers that preach to you just from the imagination of their hearts and not by the word of God - John 4:34 I beg you all, read your Bible by yourself. It's obvious some people who preach nowadays only talk because they can talk and not because God put His word in their mouth Colosians 3:16, 2 Timothy 2:15 |

MaxInDHouse:This is error!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Even Elisha that performed great miracles in the old testament fell sick when he was about to die. About Timothy, you got it wrong completely. The reason why you don't see miracles often nowadays is because many pastors now build senses at the expense of faith in God. Many of them use senses only and this is clear from the way they talk when you are privileged to be around them. Many preachers live in sin and only come to the pulpit to preach messages that will keep their members with them. The devil is a liar. It takes genuine faith in God to perform signs and wonders. GOD has not changed. His word is ever true. Check out Mark 16:15-20. Do not generalize pls, where God sees genuine faith He perform wonders I recommend yo prayerfully change your local assembly if your submission is what the pastor there preaches. The word is of God is true - with God all things are possible, only you believe Mark 9:23 |

MaxInDHouse:Alaroye! Acts 1:8 is not to be explained away simply because you have NEVER once experienced it in your life! The Scripture describe your lot 2Tim 3:5: "Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away." |

ocnovakmichael:Even your own submission shows that you lack basic knowledge of Bible interpretation Firstly, if you go to the original manuscript of that scripture you have misinterpreted, you will see that the word used in that manuscript has nothing to do with knowledge. Go back and study, please 😎 |

TenQ:What power? Deception? Mention the name of your church where REAL miracles are happening nah!😂 Power to gather actors and deceive others claiming you are performing miracles or power to produce the fruit expected of true disciples? Ọmọ that scriptures is talking about you people who always claim you are performing miracles but there is no LOVE, PEACE, JOY, PATIENCE, {Galatians 5:22-23} among you. Any disagreement you carry weapons even against your fellow worshipers. John 13:34-35 |

MaxInDHouse:It is easy for a cult like OOO or JW or Mormon to claim to be the ONLY Christians on earth, unfortunately they are Wolves in Sheep Skin. Its not about Church my dear. Its about the individual. When you go out to do God's Work, He backs you up with His power to Heal, Preach and Cast out demons. When anyone truly believes in Christ, as he makes his objective preaching the Word, the Holy Spirit backs him up. Its a pity that such have NEVER once occurred in your Life . It is an evidence that Christ Jesus doesn't know you |

TenQ:So an individual can be approved without being a follower of Christ shey? John 3:16 Continue deceiving yourself. If it's an individual thing then there is no reason for everyone to become part of Christ's followers there are many nice people in all religions throughout the world jọọ! Luke 18:18-23🥱 |

ocnovakmichael:This interpretation is sincere, but it cannot be sustained by the Greek text or the wider context of Acts. In Acts 1:8, the Greek word translated “power” is δύναμις, *dynamis*. It means power, might, strength, or effective ability. It does not mean knowledge. If Luke intended “knowledge,” he could have used γνῶσις, *gnōsis*, or ἐπίγνωσις, *epignōsis*. He did not. Furthermore, 1 Corinthians 2:12 does not use *gnōsis*. The expression “that we might know” translates εἰδῶμεν, *eidōmen*, from *oida*, meaning “to know.” Therefore, using 1 Corinthians 2:12 to redefine *dynamis* in Acts 1:8 as knowledge is linguistically incorrect. Acts 1:8 teaches that witnessing is the purpose of the power, not the definition of the power. A car may be given for transportation, but that does not mean “car” means transportation. Likewise, the Spirit’s power enables believers to witness, but “power” does not thereby mean knowledge. The disciples already possessed knowledge before Pentecost. Jesus had opened their understanding of the Scriptures in Luke 24:45, yet He still commanded them to wait until they were “clothed with power from on high” in Luke 24:49. Knowledge and power are therefore related, but they are not identical. Acts itself shows what this power produced: supernatural utterance in Acts 2:4, healing in Acts 3:6 to 8, bold proclamation in Acts 4:31, powerful testimony in Acts 4:33, and signs and wonders in Acts 5:12. Paul similarly joined proclamation with “signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God” in Romans 15:18 to 19. The Spirit certainly gives knowledge and reveals spiritual truth, as John 16:13 and 1 Corinthians 2:10 to 12 affirm. However, Scripture does not permit us to reduce His power to knowledge alone. Nor does Acts teach that everyone must shake, fall, or experience identical physical sensations. But rejecting counterfeit theatrics does not justify redefining *dynamis*. The sound conclusion is this: The Holy Spirit gives believers divine power, including boldness, understanding, spiritual gifts, and supernatural enablement, so that they may bear effective witness to Jesus Christ. Knowledge is part of the Spirit’s work. It is not the meaning of “power” in Acts 1:8. |

ocnovakmichael:This is what happens when you read only Acts 1:8 without reading the whole book of Acts of the apostles. Peter’s speech right after he healed the lame beggar at the temple gate called Beautiful. [b]Peter said to the crowd that rushed over in amazement, broken down with the verses (all from Acts 3): --- 1. He deflected the glory from himself (v. 12): "Fellow Israelites, why does this surprise you? Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?" 2. He gave all the credit to Jesus (v. 13, 16): "The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus... By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see." 3. He confronted their sin (v. 13-15): "You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go... You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this." 4. He offered grace and a call to repent (v. 17, 19): "Now, fellow Israelites, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders... Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord." The heart of his message: Peter didn't give a "how-to" on healing. He used the miracle as a launchpad to preach the Gospel—confronting their guilt in killing Jesus, proclaiming His resurrection, and urgently calling them to repentance so they could receive forgiveness and spiritual restoration. ocnovakmichael:I thought we were sharing the word together. I am not in an argument with you here. I agree with the word of God. He upholds all things by the word of His power! Acts 10:38 is very clear on the place of Power in life and ministry. Power shreds frustration! Philippians 3:10 is very explicit that knowing God grants access to the power of His resurrection resident in a Christian since Acts 1:8 you shared elaborately. |

MaxInDHouse:(1) Please point me to the Scripture where it's written such power is restricted to the Israelites? (2) Those who are not Israelites by natural birth who exhibit such power in recent times, please where did they get the power from !!!!!!! The likes of Pa Adeboye, Pa Kumuyi, Pa Oyedepo, the Late Bishop Ben Idahosa, Late Evang.Dr Umah Okpai, Late Apostle Numbere..........etc, etc.... |

bixton:God promised only ISRAELITES that He will use their people in special ways {Exodus 19:5} and throughout Bible times there was no single person used to perform miracles except Israelites in fact when a woman (none Israelite) came to tap from that blessing Jesus emphatically told her that on that note he is sent only to Israelites {Matthew 15:24} but because she humbly begged Jesus for help he cured her child. So after then the only people granted such miraculous healing are Jews who are from the same place as Jesus. But you can prove me wrong by mentioning one person who is not an Israelite but used to perform a miracle among first century Christians. bixton:If you think these guys are performing REAL miracles then i can't help you even blind and deaf people in our society know that they are using actors to deceive gullible people!🥱 |

bixton:Peacemakers! Jesus said: “Happy are the peacemakers, since they will be called sons of God." Matthew 5:9 Jesus is the Prince of Peace {Isaiah 9:6} so his true Witnesses are given power to make peace reign {Act 1:8} among all the people welcoming the Good News of God's Kingdom! Isaiah 2:4 We don't expect anyone to perform any sign before we believe that there are supernatural powers such exists before foreign religions came to Africa so only a liar will deny the involvement of spirit beings in the affairs of men but when it comes to the true religion we focus on the fruitage it supposed to produce in the gathering of those having the spirit of the true God! Galatians 5:22-23 We are not deceived by signs that's of no good fruit! Matthew 7:21-23🙂 |
