Imalwayshorny:Lies. I’ve had very good experiences with Nigerians. The first time I made more than $150,000 CAD in a year was when I was introduced by a Nigerian project manager to a data migration project he was doing for the government. Because of him, I learned how to obtain federal security clearance and got the opportunity to work on a government project. I can’t talk about the project because I signed a 10-year NDA with the Government of Canada back in 2019 FYI if you are in Tech Project Management Get a security clearance so You can work on government Job even better when you become a citizen I have stories of both good and bad experiences with Nigerians, but honestly, it depends on the type of Nigerians you surround yourself with .

AbelAbdul:It was a Nigerian who got me a job and even helped me with accommodation when I arrived in Canada. Through that same job and the work experience I gained, I was nominated under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Now, let me tell you another story. One of my neighbours is a White Canadian who lives downstairs. She smokes marijuana almost every day, coughing and smoking at the same time. Whenever she starts, I quickly close my windows so my kids won't inhale the smoke. The other day, she was even shouting at her husband outside. She mostly keeps to herself and hardly says hello to neighbours. But we also met two amazing White Canadians around the time my wife gave birth in Canada. Honestly, I almost ran away from them because I didn't know what to expect. 😂 They introduced us to other family members, and when they saw our apartment was empty as newcomers, they all came together and furnished it. They brought us a sofa, TV, children's beds, kitchen utensils, a dining table and chairs, and even decorated our walls with picture frames. Sometimes they would come back and replace the sofa with a better one. They would ask, "Do you need anything else?" Before you realize it, they've brought clothes for the children too. I almost ran away from that kind of kindness. 🏃🏽♂️🏃🏽♀️😂 My point is simple: good and bad people exist in every race and nationality. Judge people by their character, not by where they come from. |

Good evening, everyone. I have been reading through the experiences shared here and the advice provided, and they have been really helpful. Please, I need some advice. I have now received a refusal twice, both on financial grounds, and I am quite confused about the reasons given. In my first refusal, the officer stated that they were not satisfied that there was a relationship between my co-sponsor and me (my mother), and therefore they were not convinced that the funds would be accessible to me. However, my mother had already gifted me the money, and the funds were in my personal account. I addressed this issue in my second application by providing the necessary supporting documents. I also paid my tuition in full and purchased a GIC. However, I received another refusal, and I would really appreciate some clarification: 1. Tuition: The officer noted “partial tuition paid,” even though I had actually paid the full tuition. The payment was made in three instalments. I paid the first semester before my first application, and after the first refusal, my school required me to pay the second semester before issuing a new LOE. I made the additional payment, and because the tuition had increased, I paid the balance to complete the full amount. I provided all three receipts, and they were uploaded together in one folder. 2. GIC: I also purchased a GIC, but the officer stated that I would not have access to the funds for my living expenses. This is where I am particularly confused because the GIC was specifically purchased to cover my living expenses in Canada. I’m honestly not sure what I may have missed or how I should address these concerns if I decide to reapply. I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar or can help me understand what the officer may have meant.

It doesn't need a transit. So far you not changing airport, you should be fine. If you are changing terminal then you MAY go through immigration LadyW: |

Kossyfelicia:Yes, you may defer your admission date with your school if you choose to do so. However, you will need to submit your updated Letter of Acceptance (LOA) to IRCC through a webform informing them of the revised start date. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Labisi08: 2:01am On Sep 08 |
Kossyfelicia:Yes,you can defer and request for New LOA from the school and submit it to ircc through webform so they can be updated |

abi03026466:There are three things the officer noted. 1. Sufficiency 2. Availability 3. Accessibility Calculate the tuition fee for your program plus living and travel expenses the compare it with your POF if it tallies. That is for sufficiency. For availability and accessibility, you have to prove that the money is there and you can access it. But I thought the purpose of GIC was for accessibility. Anyways copy the officer's note and upload it on ChatGPT it would explain better and tell you how to go about it. |

abi03026466:Your second refusal looks like a presentation and reconciliation problem as much as a documentation one. The officer is effectively saying: "I can see documents, but I am still not satisfied the money is sufficient, available to you, and accessible throughout your studies." That is fixable. Here is what to do differently on the third application. 1. Put the tuition question beyond doubt. Do not make the officer reconstruct three instalments from three receipts. Get a fresh official letter from the school's finance office or registrar stating: "Total first-year tuition is CAD X. The applicant has paid CAD X. Outstanding balance: CAD 0." Place that letter first, the three receipts directly behind it, and add a one-page reconciliation: instalment 1 + instalment 2 + balance payment = total. Explain the fee increase and why the final payment was necessary. The officer wrote "partial tuition paid," so this time it must be impossible to misread. 2. Do not rely on the GIC alone. A GIC is acceptable evidence, but the officer still assesses whether you have enough for tuition, living expenses and travel, and where that money came from. For applications from 1 September 2026, a single student outside Quebec must show CAD 23,448 for first-year living expenses, excluding tuition and transport. Present a complete funding table: • First-year tuition: CAD X — paid • Living expenses: CAD 23,448+ — source identified • Travel: CAD X — source identified • Total required / total available / amount immediately accessible Then document each line. 3. Show exactly how the GIC becomes accessible. A GIC certificate on its own does not explain accessibility. Include the bank's official GIC confirmation showing the amount, the beneficiary, the account status and the disbursement schedule, and show how you will cover living costs before the first release and between releases. Add other liquid funds rather than presenting the GIC as your only living money. 4. Prove the source of every major deposit. Officers assess the source of funds, not just the balance. For every significant recent deposit, give the full chain: where it came from, whose money it was, why it was transferred or gifted, evidence it genuinely supports you, and evidence the sponsor could afford it. Your mother's gift needs her statements showing the withdrawal, a signed gift declaration, and proof of relationship, all in one place. 5. Address both refusals head-on. Write a dedicated Financial Clarification Letter. Quote each concern from refusal 1 and refusal 2, then answer it with the exact document that resolves it. Do not make the officer hunt through 100 pages to find your answer. Reapplying with essentially the same file is unlikely to change the result; the third application must contain new evidence that directly answers the refusal. 6. Do not ignore the final sentence about leaving Canada. The officer also said they were not satisfied you would leave at the end of your stay. Even though the refusal is mostly financial, briefly address temporary intent: why this program fits your existing education and career path, and what you intend to do after completing it. Most importantly: stop submitting a folder of documents and submit an auditable financial case. The first one or two pages should let the officer answer, at a glance: What does she owe? What has she paid? How much does she need? Where exactly is the money? Who owns it? Where did it come from? Can she access it? Is it enough for the full first year? How will the following years be funded? If those answers are obvious without the officer having to interpret three receipts, a GIC certificate and a bank statement, the third application will be fundamentally stronger. Good luck. |

Starting a fresh application in June for an August start is extremely tight and usually too late for traditional universities. Bongolobango: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Nobody: 9:12am On Sep 08 |
Admissions for the main Fall intake September at Canadian universities generally open about 8 to 12 months in advance around September to October of the prior year and close between January and March, though some specific programs or winter/spring intakes may have rolling or later deadlines Bongolobango: |
