Jamiuokolaa:
Last season, the game away at Newcastle panned out in similar fashion. We were clueless and didnt know how to utilise the numerical advantage. Carrick made a dumb Malacia sub and boom - we lost against 10 men!

I think it was even that game that brought in major doubts about Carrick's long term suitability for the job.

If you recall, there were numerous suggestions on these pages that he should be given a rolling contract instead.

This lethargic performances and uninspiring displays was evident last season but we were able to ride our luck till the end.

It is either Carrick thinks he can continue to grind out results or he simply doesn't know how to improve the team.

@Nitrogen Carrick has stuck with his style of play - the one that might relegate us if care isnt taken grin
A good coach would have made a change at the start of the second half, one that would have changed the game's trajectory. Ours left Dalot and Dorgu on the pitch for 90 minutes when he had Mazraoui on the bench. He also waited too long to bring on Sesko. I don't think Carrick is good at reading games; he selects 11 players and hopes that they click...

As lazy as lazy does.

Maybe people will start understanding the reason many interim managers have a positive bounce in results from now on. If it ends up being demonstrated that we repeated the Ole mistake it will be very funny.
It's looking that way.

Even Maresca was shocked at the lack of urgency on our part and even had the balls to bring on an attacker at the start of the 2nd half.

Atimes i wonder if some of these managers even bother to re-watch some of these games to see how pathetic the performance was.

Within 5 minutes of Man City going 1 man down i started suspecting we would lose the game. Our intensity dropped immediately. Maguire and Martinez started romancing the ball at the back feeling like BTEC Beckenbauers. Our pressing dropped and City with a man down were able to beat our press better than when they had 11 players.

Dalot kept putting us in trouble with calamitous moves at the back and i actually believed he would be the one to finish us, but Dorgu wanted to show his own color too.

Another time it was Bruno that just carelessly kicked the ball towards our 18-yard box from midfield leading to a Man City counter.

Santos is our 4th or 5th choice CM. Bought for 50m, but the club could not afford to buy a 1st choice LB

Carrick also sits on his hands a lot and is not proactive and when he eventually makes a move it is often the wrong one.

There is blood on everybody's hands. Olokpa lo ma ko everybody.

We are already 8pts behind with just 4 matches played. By matchday 10, we fit don dey 15pts behind.

Player culture at the club is rotten. Too passive. Too lazy. Too lackadaisical.

It will take a stubborn manager to root it out… AND ruthless owners who won’t take nonsense and swiftly replace underperformers.

ogbeni should go back to the basics that earned him the permanent managerial role

you cannot have success putting players in their natural position
then start this experimentation

we can play false 9 mbeumo
we can play with a striker upfront
we can play with two strikers

mount is available
we can play with a pivot or 3 midfield

so why is he serving dross

you do dorgu lwf, e cast
you go do cunha false 9, continue until you are down a goal when it was clear it wasn't working since 30'

stop the fancy pep-style tinkering
you're not at that level
and stop playing bruno full 90 every game
lots of games this season
allow mount, cunha, zirkzee to play that 10 role so when bruno effs up as he often does as the start of the season, you have options
you run bruno ragged at the start of the season, we fit no even get the end of season bump we've come to expect from him

this team is good enough for top 4
and we're entering a rough stretch
he has no more leeway
he has squandered it on dorgu and false 9

new season, back-to-back win don don rocket science

You have always epitomised failure on these pages - you are literally the mascot of setbacks and disappointment on this thread.

For the umpteenth time, your failed god was rightfully kicked out and no amount of wailing from now till the afterlife would change that fact.

Manchester UTD, just like other clubs, would continue to hire and fire till they get it right.

If you have a problem with it, suicide isnt always a bad idea
You just ddy talk nonsense with instigation of harm.

Oga all the teams that have been doing hiring and firing have achieved tangible levels of success along the way.

If you like sack every month without doing the right thing, you go nowhere.

Rashford in big 2026. Lmao.

Our board too useless mehn. We are still parading players that Pep met at this club, won 6 league titles, left and we still parade them in big 2026. Truly the club is cursed with Glazers and their junior brother INEOS
Rashford was one of our biggest threats going forward.
Especially in the first half

With how far gone the team and club mentality is, you think there will not be hard choices to be made when building a formidable team again?

I laugh. No worry. One FA cup or carabao cup we will be fine, along with a third or fourth place finish. Let's go!!! We are a big club.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by larride(m): 9:46am On Sep 14
Hiring and firing is good

Building a better squad with signings that either performs or ships out is good.

You can't be ruthless when it comes to manager while parading bang average players for years.

That Dalot is our starting RB for 8yrs should be a criminal offense

I still don’t understand the Dorgu obsession.

He looks gassed out by 20 mins and he’s been awful all season long. This dude thinks he’s Ronaldo DeLima because he scored a worldie against Arsenal and he’s desperate to score more. That’s why he’s always trying to get into shooting position at the wrong times. He needs some time off to regain his sense.

The same with Mbeumo. Been off form all season. Bruno has been playing his usual rubbish too most times.

Problem is we don’t have available capable squad options.

Every time we have a good season, we almost always follow it with a miserable one. And it’s always preceded by a timid transfer window.

Who we offend

INEOS says they want to win league by 2028. With this timid squad? And Arsenal and City will be looking at them like mumu abi?

Even the Amazon rubbish they did, bringing cameras into the dressing room this season is a wrong move. You don’t do that kind of thing when you’re still struggling.

We go soon play the Bayern. Thank God the match will be at home so there shouldn't be excuses

Our CBs are Licha, Maguire, Heaven, Yoro, De Ligt, then add Maz who can play as a CB as well. Most of these guys joined us recently. Plus we’ve had other good CBs (Lindelof, Varane, Bailey) come and go in the last few years.

Okay, De Ligt is injured, but it does not mean we should keep playing Maguire, since Heaven and Yoro are there. Maybe it’s because of reliability. Let’s ask Carrick.

Also, how many centre backs do we need in the team? Every top EPL side carry 4-5 centre backs in the squad, same as ours. And CBs make mistakes, does not mean they are bad. We went on a Hollywood run with the same Maguire last season. The woeful start this season is primarily on Carrick. He’s been brain farting since day one, from his actions (training methods and selection issues), to reactions on the pitch (wrong substitutions, docility and inability to react rightly to opponents’ actions).

Yes, we need to be ambitious, but stability should be prioritized given how things have panned out over the years. Therefore, a top 3 finish with 1 cup should be enough this season. Is that objective achievable with this squad? Absolutely!
