You guys like asking questions without thinking sometimes.

Do all humans have the same skin colour? Why then would you expect all fish, animals or birds to have the exact same colour?

Catfish can have different colours or shades due to differences in species, genetics, age and environmental conditions.

Seeing two catfish with different colours isn't necessarily unusual.

I can see some of you are just mentioning me based on follow-follow things....One person mentioned me and suddenly the whole village wants to join the conversation.

I didn’t attack the OP, so make una rest. If you can’t think for yourself at least don’t make your lack of originality my problem.

Easy man, you can answer without sounding harsh. The idea of this forum is to seek and impact knowledge where necessary.
Somebody can come on here and ask "why are some humans albinos", does that make the question foolish? Nawa for you o

The dark one is from fish pond, stagnant water.

While the light-skin one is from the stream or moving water.

The difference is just the habitat in which the fishes were raised. The habitat determines how dark or light their color will be. Gene expression is also a factor that determines color in fishes

The real cat fish from River is not black, those one you see people training in there house's are the one's that are dark. That's the difference.

One is from the River or sea, the other is home made training spec.

Different factors could be responsible for this,

Water clarity and light exposure
Rearing environment (concrete tanks vs. earthen ponds)
Genetics
Handling and physiological stress
Age and size differences

Interesting I was asking the same question from a friend 2 days ago because the lighter toned catfish is what I currently have in my pot atm but it's not as sweet as the darker one so I was trying to get answers and he also looked not to know the cause.

Catfish are known to change colour tones from time to time. The black one can become gray as well and the gray one can become quite black as well. I keep catfish as well and I've observed them changing colours. Adapting to their background, nutrition and possibly stress can trigger colour changes.

Some of my catfish are getting to 8 years old! I've had some I kept for 11 years but I sold them off recently. I do breed catfish for fingerlings production as a side hustle.
