Foolish girls and coach Look at a game we could have won convincingly When I complained about their decision making the last game somebody said I was focusing too much on the negative |

ekehopp2:We have ourselves to blame. Colombia not a strong team. We didn't create good chances or use our free kicks, corners. North Korea (who should win today) will run riot against Colombia in the Semis. |

Schemerkhiz:So you result to insults because of that? |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 4:07pm On Sep 20 |
The only reason this result will be surprising to you is if you've not followed the competition from the beginning. It's been obvious since the first game that the girls have a problem creating chances. We couldn't score against Spain, and also couldn't against China. We were able to convert only against bad teams in New Caledonia and England (and yes England was a bad team). Columbia saw how one directional the team was and game planned for it. We were out of options once that happened. We literally kept doing the same thing that didn't work for 90 minutes. They had their chance and they took it. I personally don't have a do or die affair to age grade competitions. While it wouldn't be a bad idea to win it all, I think it should primarily serve the purpose for which it was founded; a pipeline for discovering and nurturing new talent. That's more important in my opinion and this team had quite a number that hopefully will help the Super Falcons not too long from now. This team had a ceiling and sadly this is it. They've done relatively well, kudos to them. |

The girls played well today. Football is cruel, and the best teams don't always win on the day. Colombia simply packed the box. Colombia did not come to play. They were flopping and diving all over the field. That Black Colombian winger was essentially insulting the ref, complaining and looking for cheap fouls all game despite being on a yellow card. When the ref sent out the Nigerian player, she was taunting that player just in front of the ref. The ref tolerated her nonsense today. South American football in general is on a serious decline. Messi Magic with Argentina somehow covered it up, but now that he is retired, I just don't think you will see a South American team winning any major FIFA competition in a very long time. They seem to be more concerned about the dark arts of football than actually playing football these days. They are always flopping, cheating, and acting. Colombia will receive their flogging in the hands of North Korea in the next game. |

| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by ThePresenceWtf: 4:15pm On Sep 20 |
What an asinine tactics to employ in a quarter finals. Your striker spent all game being a midfielder, tracking back and trying to also be a playmaker because the two no 8’s you played were busy doing nothing all game but to give away the ball or make back passes every time….. and as a result, she was never in the Penalty area, or even gave the Colombian CBs any though time ( The CBs were very comfortable because they had no one to mark, unlike ours who were put on their toes by Colombia’s ST Yeboah ) I mentioned this in the first half that Kareem and Mafisere were doing nothing and letting Tosin do all the work in midfield. They can’t pass, can’t shoot, can’t make a run, can’t defend, can’t press, can’t track a runner, too slow to get unto a pass played to them… Their deficiencies were too numerous to mention…. Yet after a first half of that, not one of them were pulled from the game. Imagine your wingers and striker never getting a single pass from any of your advanced midfielders in a game. All passes Nwokocha and Joseph received in the first half were either from their respective FBs, Rafiu or the CBs. None from the 2 MFs. When the 2 midfielders get a chance to shoot, they just recycle the ball, and make a back pass 😂 ( Lost count how many times the commentators even mentioned this) Thinking the coach will correct it, but nah… instead he subbed Joseph off rather switch her with Nwkocha and brought in David who did Bleep all when she came on. Oscar Precious should have been in the game earlier too.. This is the thing with Nigeria, when we get one thing right and receive praises, instead of kicking on from there, we rather take multiple steps backwards and regress…. SMH |

Encouraged by the Talents in the team. Janet, Rafiu Tosin, Uzoma, Adegbemile, Mafisere (Despite the unfortunate red), Jumai, Adeshina are all really strong talents. Precious Oscar and Queen Joseph will go to another WC this year ofcos with the U17s, with the experience gotten here. A shitty team won. Silly luck and the red. And while it is easy to say or ask why this or that did not happen, I will again point at the subtle refereeing favors that went Colombia's ways and fouls that refs kept allowing for them. Worse was the every call whenever their girls cried like Babies. Even the #19 should have been sent off with a 2nd yellow for strong dissent but nooo... Ref kept pampering them. Colombia won but they are trash. North korea will have them for dinner after dispatching Canada. |

I don’t know if the outcome would have been different if those 7 players, who were denied visas, had been available. However, even if they were available, I doubt they would have made a difference in the pace of the team’s transition from midfield to offense. It was damn too slow for the majority of the match |

Harmony Chidi Kemi Adegbuyi Ohunene Sunday Mary Dunstan Queen Joseph Precious Oscar Kindness Ifeanyi (hopefully she returns) Etc And a coach, Akeem Busari who seems to know what he is doing. I look forward to the U17s more but I am encouraged by the U20s showing (which could have been better) especially as I actually muted expectations initially. PDPGuy: |

EElopa:I wrote off the team after the China game because it wasn't a good game. But based on what I watched today, I think they played well and were just unlucky. The whole thing fell apart with the red card. We are also forgetting they played Colombia who are not minnows in football. They dominated the Colombians, for me, they did well today. |

First MD3 of the day. CIV U17s beat Niger U17s 9-0 Same CIV lost 1-0 to Burkina Faso U17s in MD2. This is the standing prior to today's games...

Omo CIV really ran riot vs Niger. If only the ref for our Niger game was also not incompetent, we would have had more than 5 goals. It is well. B/faso today and afterwards, we face CIV in MD4 The match schedule is attached below:

So this ref finally has a yellow in her pocket. The Burkinabes have been so rash in their fouls and the ref has done nothing until now. I did not want to comment till she finally brings out a yellow for them. 71mins. Na wa. Anyway, while the ref has been unsurprisingly terrible as expected at this WafuB, our girls have also missed a few good chanes. #11 Destiny and the girl who replaced Harmony are culprits. |
| Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:36pm On Sep 21 |
This girl, #17 Oluebube that replaced Harmony is a terrible finisher abeg. She just wasted another attacking transition again. Habamana TheSuperNerd: |
