Hello everyone! I'm new here... I wish to enquire about the following for UK visitor visa to see my sibling at England; - Pls what would you advise that I would be to improve my evidence of home ties in Nigeria ? For example, is it advisable to register a solo business name at CAC ahead of time? - I am single and within my early 30s but I work at a private firm with a monthly salary of 190k. I don't own any business nor landed property. Pls what further evidence of strong home ties do I have to secure or need in order to improve my UK visitor visa chances? - What proof of funds amount is required? Can one borrow from bank and keep the account running and active? |

Hello everyone I made a mistake in my UK visa application form and I’ve submitted the application and also paid for the visa fee, I learnt that it takes up to 28 days to get a refund of the application fee. I need to travel in October so I don’t want to cancel the application and start a new one. I’ve sent a message to UKVI and they have not been helpful. I’m wondering if I can write a cover letter and attach to the application based on the mistake I made? Or is it advisable to cancel the application? Tbh I do not have the extra funds to pay for another application pending the refund. Thank you |

Good day house, please when applying for a visit visa, must I upload all the pages of my passport(both stamped and blank pages)? If yes, can the visa application center upload it for me for free for me on the day of biometrics even when I have opted for self service? Thank you for your response |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by davodyguy: 6:24pm On Sep 27 |
ocpaschal:With ₦190,000 monthly, you may be judged as not financially stable to be able to afford traveling to the UK You need about ₦2.5m to ₦3m and your gross annual income is not even up to that threshold. So don't apply |

But I have a younger sibling in UK and he has the financial capability to sponsor my trip and stay for 7 days. Isn't it clearly possible for UK to accept that my sibling can sponsor my visit? Is there a specific age limit or challenge that affects how an applicant can be sponsored by a brother due to age factor esp 30yrs and above? davodyguy: |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:42pm On Sep 28 |
ocpaschal:This will not work. The trip is not considered compulsory, that is how they view it. Since you are relying on another person to fund a vacation for you, it can wait until you are able to fund it yourself. Anything could happen and you could become stranded and then require public funds from the UK taxpayer. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:43pm On Sep 28 |
ijennyjane:Wait till when this lump sum is expunged from your statement. No need to hurry. Hurry and get a refusal and still end up waiting. |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:44pm On Sep 28 |
Onyiiiiibeke:Tls or Vfs would do it free of charge. Worry not. They are required to do it as mandated by UKVI. |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 12:22pm On Sep 30 |
Munamoqel:Let her apply on her own, Though she can indicate that you her husband are part sponsoring her trip with say cost of flight ticket. She'd need evidence of her employment and other ties to Nigeria ( if you have kids for example) |

One thing I’ve noticed on these visa threads is that people sometimes focus so much on “how much is in the account” that they forget the ECO is looking at the story behind the money. A healthy-looking balance can still raise questions if the transactions leading to that balance don’t make sense. And conversely, a modest balance with a clear, traceable source and a credible reason for the trip can be easier to understand. That ₦1.5m transfer is therefore not necessarily a problem simply because it was transferred. The important question is whether the applicant can clearly establish where it came from, why it was transferred, and how it fits into the overall financial circumstances. Personally, I’d rather submit a simple application where every major transaction can be explained than 50 documents that leave the ECO playing detective. 😒 Just my 2 kobo.🤗😉 |

Hi, I’m applying for a UK Standard Visitor visa. I’m an international student in Rwanda and also earn money through freelance/remote work. My savings are from my own work, but I’ve been keeping some of the money with my brother for safekeeping. He isn’t sponsoring me; the money is mine. I’m thinking of transferring the money back to an account in my own name before applying. Would it be enough to provide my work/payment records, transfer history, and evidence showing my brother was only holding the money for me? Would a large deposit shortly before applying be an issue if I can clearly prove where the money came from? Any advice from people who have dealt with something similar would be appreciated. |

A large, sudden deposit shortly before applying for a UK Standard Visitor visa will be a major red flag for UK Visas and Immigration even if you attempt to explain it. Buzzer99: |
