One thing have come to realize on nairaland is the first to comment
Opinion make most of the comments draw the same opinion as is

If are not paying attention start from now

This job mean you can do this find another of its kind and another till you fill the money is ok

Like six
Of seven

In overseas people do hourly work

What's the difference here from this job

But once the first to comment give is opinion like the job is suicide
The rest follow

Only few people like you look at it differently
The person even stated clearly that it's once a day. The same people lamenting are the ones paying cleaners 10k monthly to sweep their compound once a day in lagos compared to that village where the pig farm is.

If you are coming from quite a distance and cant go back home, there is free accommodation for you. The farm owner tried.
emmy512:
ask yourself if its just an hour a day.
why does he say free accomodation available?

Only you talk go right, talk come centre come land for left.

... If you are idle and someone approach you to help him cut his garden, nor be 15/20k you go charge am?

Now this employer is offering a whooping 20k for 30days of work ( cleaning godforsaken pigs shit)
These are more like shifts.
It's just like an hour max job. Someone serious with his life won't rely on that alone.

They make the job so flexible that you can look for other things to do. You can do like 5 or similar jobs that pays 20k. That's 100k. 100k for that village, you be big boy.

Be like na you be the employer!
... Or you dey pack pig shit part-time? grin

You think this is the UK?... Unku you think you can pack and clean one pig farm in 1hr?
You must be joking if you think a Nigerian employer will pay you to work 1hr a day in his company.
You better wipe that sleep off your face 😡

Does this guy even know that it is a crime to pay people below the minimum wage?

What if the job takes just 1 or 2 hours a day? The employee can still do other jobs alongside this one

The government should arrest these wicked so called business owners. We have a minimum wage gazetted by law!
Not every job is a minimum wage job, you cut someone's grass, he pays you and agreed fee of 5k, he hasn't committed any offence, you both agreed to the fee. This job is one of those jobs, it is a job that the employee expects you to do part time. Some hustler could do this and go to another job to earn money. Even in better economic realities, people hold multiple low paying jobs.

No, it isn't a crime not even a civil offence as not every job meets the threshold to be minimum waged.
You cut someone's grass for an agreed 5k and you say he has committed and offence because he didn't pay you 70k.
He now says, come and cut the grass every 2 weeks and he pays 20k at the end of the month, it would be absurd if that was a crime.

And I'm paid the same amount as a teacher.

Just last month I received a salary of 23k,I have been there for almost 3 years now.

Thank God you people in that office have a good mind. Over here they are acting up saying I sounded ungrateful and I should bear it damn No!

I just bowed my way out and I have told myself I won't do teaching anymore in my life.

dey play if you want the receipt personally I can send it to you. The way they are handling one would think I'm the one st fault because I chose to reject what they were bringing at me after how long I have constantly been patient despite everything going on with the delay in salary.

Everyone else is taking it lightly except me. I should forgive. Am I supposed to stay stuck in one position I'm not moving just there even my younger sister friend who's 18 was saying she can't do a job of 40k. I was inside listening to her and sighed. I have left the job it might take long but I'm determined to through because I know they're not helping me they're killing me.

A farm owner in Enugu has received backlash and strong criticism over a job post that offers 20k monthly salary. Many feel the salary offer is a pure manifestation of wickedness due to the economic situation and high rate of joblessness among young people.
most jobs of this nature can be completed under 2hrs. To spend 2hrs in the morning to do this and then go your way to do any other job is not really such a bad deal.
I am not saying it is wonderful, but it’s just 2hrs.

I am talking from experience. I use to run a farm. There is this big piggery close to my poultry farm. The worker does not spend more than 2hrs every morning to finish his job and go do other stuff. He comes by 5.30 and before 7am he is done for the day.

Now if you’re coming from a long distance that mean a you have to stay there how much do you spend on transportation back that won’t eat half the pay

JuanDeDios:
Context. How many pigs are there? How many pens? If it's small outfit starting with just one pen and two pigs, there's no way he can pay more than that. Whoever takes the job will work there for 30-50min every morning before going on this other hustles.
even if it is 100 pigs. That job cannot take more than 1 hour a day.
