palaurry:What do you mean by "I have a plan to pay school fee balance from my bank savings (POF)"? Is your tuition fee not part of your POF? What the purpose of POF if it's not meant for paying of school fees? If you don't understand what POF is, it is the funds available, accessible for everything concerning your study. Your flight ticket, accommodation, tuition fee, feeding, etc are all part of your POF. So when you said you have plan to pay your tuition bal from your POF I wonder what the purpose of POF was. During my time, every spending I made including going to Abj and Lagos from PH for biometric and medicals respectively all were from the POF. Even the clothes, shoes, bags I bought for my Canadian journey all came from my POF. When I submitted my application my POF was $108k. The day I landed in Canada my POF had gone down because all my spending were from that POF. Abi where else would I get money to spend if not from my POF? |

palaurry:Frirstly IRCC likes to see raw cash for the most part so this investment certificate to close gap of POF balance and accomodation is not already looking good 2ndly the way you asked the question is very confusing. Please provide more context. How much is your school fee for the 2 year program? How much do you currently have as POF in your account? What is this investment certificate you are referring to and how much is it? Are you travelling alone? 3rdly define sufficient savings ? |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 2:46pm On Oct 06 |
palaurry:The reason I asked if it was a master’s was to make you aware that a PGD does not qualify for a spousal open work permit. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/help-your-spouse-common-law-partner-work-canada.html

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by palaurry: 2:56pm On Oct 06 |
thanks and well noted. kindly advice further on the POF with information provided. am I good to go with 24k cad POF and school fee balance (to be paid soon) or I need to make other financial additions. amnotapervert: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 2:56pm On Oct 06 |
palaurry:Minmimun you should have as POF in your account is = $20,600 ( school fees) + $23,448 (iving expenses) + $5000 miscellaneous $49,048 approximately $50,000 CAD That’s the minimum you should have in Raw cash in an account. An investment certificate can be an additional source of funds, but it should not be the main one. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 2:57pm On Oct 06 |

Osemigho:I have a question: Are bank statements of Fintech banks like Opay and PiggyVest now accepted as Proof of Funds for Canada and UK study or work travel plans? 😒 2. I have a relative seeking to travel to study in Finland/Canada starting from year 2031, he is planning to increase his Proof of funds. He currently has 6.5M naira. He is being advised to use PiggyVest but there was a time in 2024 a lot of their users called them "scam" and also lamented that they don't respond to withdrawal issues at/after maturity date with occasional complaints of not being unable to log in to use the interface after depositing their funds into Piggyvest or out of their subsidary PocketApp. To attract the best interest rates, he is thinking of locking the 6.5M for a year_6months the minimum but plans to lock it for a year and renew until he is ready by 2031 so that the account balance will grow to a huge amount. For current PiggyVest users, do you think it is safe to lock 6.5M for a year on the app, do you think he will be able to withdraw if he decides to move the whole new amount or a portion out after the 6month/365 day (1) year expiry date? How can he move the money out without issues? As a whole or in chunks? Thanks 🙏 |

Cook ke... I see why Ppl with here in Canada always discourage ppl from coming via school route... Because they end up seeing ppl crying up and down which most of them are international students from 3rd world countries... After you cook finish, please note that some part of your school fees may be due in few days or a month or 2 when you arrive, no work is assured and you have limited hours to work etc. palaurry: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by AbelAbdul: 6:38am On Oct 08 |
dsureguy:Please also inform him that it’s not only school fees o. There are only bills to pay. Depending on the course and school sha. Some textbooks are as high as $210 minus tax. If I tell you how much I’ve spent on textbooks alone just four textbooks the money don reach to buy Honda Civic 2008 model. |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by PhdCloakRoom(m): 8:49am On Oct 08 |
AbelAbdul:Abudu lie , You are not in grade school anymore . In Canada 80% of Universities allow you to simply rent your textbooks from amazon, university bookstores, library etc. and they have used book exchanges where seniour students get to sell back their used textbooks for the incoming classes. Even multiple thrift stores like Value Village and the Salvation -Army in Canada sell numerous second-hand products including books at a very cheap price and they display books in thematic sections so its easy to find a book from a genre of your choice. Harvard University, The World Internet Archive, The World Google Book Library etc all have free downloadable course books usable for all academia worldwide to the extent that if used no students (in North America especially) will have the need to buy any textbook. You are not a student in Canada. Stop deceiving incoming students . You dont even know how to combine your lies to make sense 🙄 |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Labisi08: 9:41am On Oct 08 |
Serotype:You should have applied to multiple universities or colleges, because if we are been realistic like this visa processing time is 10-12 weeks so you have to put that into consideration and most classes resume on Jan 11th and we have 3months to Jan You can do your calculations |
