Josh121:I got a job before coming to Canada and currently I got 3 Canadian job offers. Aside the cold, from my house to where the job location is, I won't get a bus by 2AM so I factored in commute too and declined it. Province: Ontario |

Mavor:Thank you so much mayor. I really appreciate it. Another thing, can one use mutual funds to apply Asin put 20m in a mutual fund and put 5 in a normal bank account? Tho one will get a letter from the bank saying the money is accessible anytime |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Mavor: 9:02am On Oct 25 |
Mighsam:Yes, you can, but don’t lean on it. Mutual funds count as liquid investments, so IRCC will consider them if you include the fund manager’s statement showing current value and a letter confirming you can redeem at any time. Several people here have used them successfully. The catch is the IRCC visa officer's discretion. Some officers want to see money sitting in a bank account with 4–6 months of history, not an investment that still needs to be redeemed. A 20m fund with only 5m in the bank gives a sceptical officer an easy excuse. If I were you, I’d redeem at least part of it into the bank account 3–4 months before applying, so the bulk of the funds show as settled cash with a clear trail. Keep whatever stays in the fund as a top-up, with the statement and access letter attached, and explain the whole picture in one short paragraph in your Letter Of Explanation (LOE). IRCC Visa Officers refuse for “unclear source and availability of funds” far more than for “not enough money.” |

AbelAbdul:Boss Good Morning, Hope you’re having a great day! I will appreciate if you might be open to sharing some advice on navigating the Canadian tech job market. I moved to Toronto in September and have been actively targeting Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Cloud Security roles. One major hurdle I’m running into is work eligibility alignment: most openings are for full-time roles, while the part-time or entry-level positions often strictly require enrollment in a formal co-op program. Given your experience here, I’d love to hear how you approached your job search or if you have any tips on breaking through these barriers. Thanks so much for your time |

AbelAbdul:5° degrees is not that cold ,you can wear Warmer inside before your trousers see pics below Top clothes should be doubled.. Get -35 to 45 degrees winter jacket.. If it gets worse you can wear balaclava during winter.. As for me my worse fear starts from -21°degrees

Wanice:I asked ChatGPT to give me a list of tech and fintech companies in Ontario. I went to each company's websites and search for openings then applied. Most job descriptions were full-time but I still applied. I got an offer with one and when I told them I was a student I can only do 24hr/week they said no problem. There is another one when I did interview they said they needed a full-time employee. Most of the jobs were in Toronto. One was even a remote but I need to visit to on-site at least once a week. I used ChatGPT to finetune my resume to match every job role I applied for. Use ChatGPT PS: Please don't send me a private message because I will not reply. And if anyone message you claiming to be me expose the person. PPS: Use ChatGPT for everything. |

dsureguy:Nice. I belive you get 30% of total GIC upon arrival upfront. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Mavor: 9:05pm On Oct 25 |
Wanice:That is why it is good to target tech programs in Canada DLI schools that have co-op as part of their curriculum. I advise you look into getting Microsoft and/or AWS certificates related to Cloud, DevOps, Infra and Security, even AI sef. You can study on your own and then write the certification exams. Your profile then becomes more appealing to these companies you are targeting. |

Leggitearning:Clothing is not the problem. Housing, daycare, before- and after-school care, and feeding are the main expenses when raising kids. Once Upon a Child and Value Village can help young families save money on clothes because children grow so fast. Its not as easy coming with kids as she might think its not at all |

Plight21:Like the application fee? You want the application fee to be waived before you apply to a school? Well, you're looking for something that's quite difficult to find. Canadian schools make money from international students, and application fees are one of their revenue sources. Some schools may credit it toward your tuition after you receive an admission offer, but this is not the case with every school For schools, application fees are a cash cow. They collect application fees from many applicants, admit some of them, and end up with more applicants than they can accommodate. and even reject so many more like a course of 500 new students they will collect 10,000 application at $100 a person thats sweet easy $1,000,000CAD If you don't want to waste money on application fees and want to improve your chances of getting admission, focus on schools with relatively high acceptance rates for international students and programmes where you meet the admission requirements https://bemoacademicconsulting.com/blog/university-acceptance-rates-canada Don't just apply to any school because the application fee is cheap or waived. Make sure the school and programme are worth your money, especially if your ultimate goal is to study in Canada and qualify for a post-graduation work permit https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html

Plight21:From experience, I doubt if you're going to get any waivers from Canada schools. They're not as generous with waivers as the US. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 10:36am On Oct 26 |
Some Canadian school do give application fee waivers from time to time. And there are several of them running right now. Depending on the school and program you're applying to, you may find some that require payment of application fee while others waiver it 100%. Attached is a screenshot from our app, there 44 postgraduate business programs that currently have application fee waiver. Plight21:

ATTAHDYE:Plight21, just to add to what ATTAHDYE is saying and help you understand the type of application fee waivers these schools offer: they are usually for students who are already enrolled in a programme at the school and want to apply for a second programme within the same institution. In that case, you may qualify for an application fee waiver, but it does not apply to you because you are a new student already in canada.. you are not in canada so it does not apply to you Some schools may also credit your application fee towards your tuition after you receive an admission offer. https://humber.my.site.com/EnrolmentandAdmissions/s/apply#inside https://humber.ca/international/admissions-financial-aid/how-to-apply/applying-inside-canada

What I post is not for student who have already enrolled and applying for a second program. It is for someone in Nigeria today who want to start his admission process. Schools provide these application fee waivers as part of their marketing drive. For UK, it is very hard to see school charge admission application fee, in Canada some charge admission application fee, while other do not. Humber college just happened to be the first on the list of schools that have admission application fee from the search that I ran for PG/Business programs in Colleges - there are several others depending on what you are looking for. ATTAHDYE:to help Plight21 better can you mention one school that does not charge admission application fee for international students not already in the country or in the school? |

You can see one from the screenshot I shared. We can help him further if he tells us what program he is interested and we can check if there are schools that offer admission application fee waivers in Canada. amnotapervert: |

Hi and thanks to everyone for their contributions on here. I have a few questions i need clarifications on: How long after transfer of funds into Canadian bank GIC before one can submit the visa application and should the 'source of funds' bank statement also be attached to the application? My mum is the one sponsoring and uses her personal account for her buying and selling business(bulk food stuffs), payments are done via transfers and i am wondering if the transactions need to be explained in the LOE? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by ATTAHDYE(m): 6:34am On Oct 27 |
You can submit as soon as you get your CIG certificate. You should attach what you just called the "source of funds" bank statement(s). The key is to convince the visa officer beyond reasonable doubt about the sources and availability of funds. If your mother is a business woman as you described, her account will have very good turn over and balances. Farefare: |
