These U17 Flamingoes have truly arrived at this WC. The ease with which they play now ehn... it is why I termed this generation the U17 Avengers... It is a genuine assemblage of mega talents.

Oluebube Umejiaku also has improved from the version we saw at the Wafu B. She scored there but missed more than she converted.

At this WC, she is not just more clinical but a real thorn. She carries potential as another fine #9 prospect. I love her swagger and the physical profile she brings.

We are becoming sloppy. Great save by Jane.

Again, the goalkeeper has been a bright light in this tournament. Been very impressed with her and quite frankly think she can be as good as Chiamaka with the right development.

Congratulations to Nigeria
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 6:13pm On Oct 29
10mins of added time that became 15mins. Almost feel like they wanted Mexico to get back in it but it was still our girls who looked more likely to make it 3-1. Chidi was also denied a clear pen due to a tight offside call.

Good win for the girls. The mexicans were no match from min 1 to min 105.

Wow even Kenya. The 2nd round games have been fairly evenly matched except for one of the results.

Also all the African countries in the 2nd round have performed well except for one Judas amongst them.

Don't let them breathe, we dey behind you grin

But Kenya is really a pleasant surprise oh. I guess I was underrating USA and China because this is not what I expected. They are fully in this game. In fact, they have looked better than Japan at times.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by ekehopp2: 9:07pm On Oct 29
No European team made it through to the Quarter Finals.
Spain, France, Poland, Germany all knocked out.
This should be a first.
Let the statisticians confirm.

Asia running riot with Japan, China and North Korea all in.
Ghana and Nigeria from Africa
Brazil, Venezuela from South America
Then USA from North America completing the setup.

I gave Kenya zero.chance too. I thought Japan would blow them away. With hindsight now, Nigeria and Ghana started badly, I mean Ghana lost to Norway, same Norway that Brazil and Canada beat.look at us too, losing to Poland, yet same Poland was destroyed by Nuke Korea that we disciplined.

Our matchup looks easiest on paper. All the other QF pairings na war!!!!
Japan vs Ghana
China vs Brazil
Nk vs USA
I don't envy the other teams. Some of the 2nd round pairings too na war and the results showed it
Spain vs USA
China vs France
I thank God for our own o.
Now on to the next game. I hope the girls and coaching crew stay HH, humble and hungry!!!!!!!

I feel like both teams had to get used to none African opponents. Even Puerto Rico had us on the ropes for a second grin

The world cup miss was a disaster. Unimaginable too that Zambia couldn't make it too of course courtesy of Madugu.

Morocco might have been responsible for the poor performance of the European teams. They had probably recruited a lot of the EU players, hence the poor outing the EU guys had.

They had world class Nora Hauptle as coach. They defeated Randy Waldrum coached Super Falcons without Banda playing.

Nora Häuptle isn’t that Bad, but again Zambia is never in the SuperFalcons level and we all knew how that game went and the circumstances surrounding that lose to Zambia so I don’t rate that game..
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 2:20pm On Oct 31
Not to pop your 'propaganda balloon' but...
You do understand that the SF did not have a single training session after the Semi-final Morocco defeat at that WAFCON, because the players went on strike due to unpaid bonuses.
Also, Nora Hauptle NEVER defeated Randy Waldrum, as the Zambia coach at the time was Bruce Mwape.

I never said Nora was coach when Zambia whooped Randy's team behind. But the Zambian team did. And the details of training session or not, that is story for the gods, the team was beaten, simple.
You make excuses for Randy's team but when it was obvious the team had an abysmal preparation before the last WAFCON, not enough friendly games etc, I didn't see those excuses.

I guess I will only quote those with sense able points not those back and front trash…

Even when Zambia beat them with an Own goal as a result of the ball hitting Nnadozie in after coming off the post the Falcons still played better with the likes of Ayinde, Ajibade not available., Oshoala was out injured..

Okobi was begged to Captain the team on that day…. A lot went on behind the scenes which they still don’t know yet.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Schemerkhiz: 4:24pm On Oct 31
Yes… Madugu won the WAFCON off what Randy left behind.

And I will boldly say it Madugu is not in Randy, Omagbemi, Eucharia or even Edwin Okon level in terms of Coaching abilities…

He only enjoyed someone else labour and when he got the opportunity to lead the team from afresh he Failed woefully💯

And he hold the worst SuperFalcons Coaching record till date with Khadiri Ikhana and Christopher Danjuma to follow..
