Bigsam12301:This is fraud, and we do not encourage fraud here. Please take your fraudulent mindset elsewhere. IRCC is catching all kinds of immigration fraud. Let me explain something to you that you may not understand. A person who has obtained PR cannot simply turn around and add you as a dependent years later. When they applied for PR, they were required to declare their immediate family members. Your name was not included in that application. So, you suddenly appear years later, and the person wants to add you as a dependent? Hahahaha! IRCC will flag that application, investigate, and potentially revoke the person's PR for attempting to commit immigration fraud. IRCC is also well aware of marriage fraud. If that is the shortcut you are considering, trust me, you are not smarter than IRCC. They have seen it all. Please, I take God beg you, stop looking for immigration shortcuts. There is no need to ruin someone's future because you want to circumvent the immigration system https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/protect-fraud/marriage-fraud.html

Noted with thanks. I’m currently in Europe and I have visited Canada twice based on tourism visa. |

Bigsam12301:Nobody asked your location or if you have visited Canada or not. What you asked for is a serious offence that would put you and your helper in a big problem. You said you are in Europe and have visited Canada. For an international traveler like you, you should know better. I only pray that whoever that will help you should only scam you and leave you than put you in immigration problem. |

Good day House. Please I need your advice I am a chemical engineering graduate.I just concluded my NYSC.I have a CGPA of 3.82/5.My yr 5 1st and 2nd gpa are 4.5/5 and 4.68/5.My yr 4 Ist and 2nd gpa are 3.47/5(E grade is evil🤧) and 5.0/5.0(IT plus a course) I will like to do my masters in Canada.I have checked for schools offering masters in chemical engineering but based on my grade and my course of study, which schools can I enter??Let application fees money not just go like that. I am kindof confused about either going for a course based masters(M.eng) or going for a thesis based (MSC) .My uncle believe thesis based is better but I don’t have interest in PHD or anything academia. He also talked about the chances of getting partial or fully funded scholarship for thesis based which will help reduce the financial stress which I know but that route is very competitive.I will love to go for the one(program)that increases my chance for jobs in Canada after the master is over. Please I need everyone advice |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 8:30pm On Nov 02 |
paul100:The difference between a course-based Master's degree and a thesis Master's degree when looking for funding is you are likely to get funding if you are looking at thesis Master's degree but fully funded scholarship is very diffcult to come by you might get Partial funded scholarship but full is hard ...........canada is not the country that has alot of fully funded Scholarship its possible but hard to come by Look for a school with hightger acceptance rate for international students as a chemical engineer that accept so you will reduce the amount that can be used for application fees money as a chemical engineer You surely would be able to get a job You need to make sure you are certified in the province you are trying to. work in You might need to wait for some time, as it could take some time for a newcomer after school. But the overall probability of it working out for you as a chemical engineer is good |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Mavor: 9:21am On Nov 04 |
Caseycasey2222:Good question — and the word “build” is the right one, because the embassy isn’t looking at your balance, it’s looking at your story. Here’s what worked for me: 1. Start early — 6 months minimum. Visa officers read your statement month by month. An account that was empty in March and has ₦8m in September is a red flag, not proof of funds. Open the account (or start using the one you have properly) at least 6 months before you apply. 2. Make it your real account. Let your salary or business income land there every month. Pay your bills from it. Consistent inflow and normal outflow is what looks like a real person. An account with one deposit and no movement looks like borrowed money parked for a visa — and they’ve seen that a thousand times. 3. No sudden lump sums. If a large amount must come in (sale of a car, family support, savings moved from another bank), document it: receipt, sworn affidavit, or a letter from the person, plus their own statement showing where it came from. Unexplained money hurts you more than less money. 4. Keep the balance steady, not just high at the end. Average balance matters more than closing balance. Don’t withdraw everything the week after you print the statement either — some embassies check again. 5. Get the right paperwork from the bank. Stamped, signed statement on bank letterhead plus a reference letter confirming the account and average balance. Ask for both at once. 6. Keep it clean. No betting platforms, no crypto P2P, no random third-party transfers you can’t explain. 7. Your letter of explanation (LOE) should have a table explaining every single large deposit into your account over the past 6 months before you apply. Heavy justification/proof for each deposit/inflow. Simple rule: if you can explain every line on that statement to a stranger in one sentence, you’re ready. |

Good day everyone. I am about to apply for my study permit and I decided to ask for some guidance here. Below is a summary of my situation: - accepted for a 1-year College Graduate Certificate in an Ontario college - program to commence in Jan 2027 - already paid 1st and 2nd tuition deposit to the school - my sister (a PR in Canada) paid the deposits directly from her Canada account to the school - final payment is due by April 2027 - my sister transferred money to me sufficient to cover POF, tuition balance and other likely expenses - gift from sister represent 100% of my total POF as I only work a very low-paying job - I invested the funds immediately in treasury bills with maturity in Feb 2027 - the investment certificate states that I can liquidate anytime - my salary account is different from the investment account - my sister to provide gift deed with other documents - my sister reside in the same city and province with school of study but my plan is to rent my own space from the gift - did upfront medical 2 months ago - single and not currently in any serious relationship Now, here are my questions: 1. I am running out of time for the program starting in January; do I still apply or ask school to defer already? 2. My sister's gave me the money partly from her Naira savings and sale of property but she is not inclined to providing documentations regarding the asset sale. Will only her bank statement suffice and how many months? What other documents are required to support the gift deed? 3. Is the gift deed to be notarized in Canada or Nigeria? 4. How do I prove home-tie given my relationship status and the fact that my job is low-paying though related to the course I want to study in Canada? 5. Is it a concern that my sister reside in the same city as the school yet I plan to rent my own space? Any other tip or advise would also be helpful. Appreciate in advance. |

amnotapervert:Thank you so much for the advice.I really appreciate. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 5:52pm On Nov 04 |
emmatrack:I wanted to answer your question, but I looked at it from the perspective of how IRCC might assess your sister’s case and the money she sent to you partly from her Naira savings and sale of property. That’s why I wanted to ask you a question to pass on to your sister. When she filed her taxes in Canada, did she declare to the CRA that she received money from the sale of a property in Nigeria, given that she was a Canadian tax resident at the time? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by emmatrack(m): 6:07pm On Nov 04 |
No, she did not and that's why I believe she said she is not inclined to provide detail on that. amnotapervert: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 7:26pm On Nov 04 |
emmatrack:Yes, that's the challenge, and that's exactly where the problem is As a Canadian tax resident, you have certain obligations to report foreign income and capital gains to the CRA. The fact that the amount is below $100,000 does not automatically exempt you from reporting the capital gain. The $100,000 threshold relates to certain foreign property reporting requirements, not a blanket exemption from reporting capital gains. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/international-non-residents/information-been-moved/foreign-reporting/questions-answers-about-form-t1135.html Now, this makes things more complicated because IRCC will want to know the source of the money. If you claim the money was a gift from your sister, you may be asked to provide evidence of where your sister got the money in the first place If your sister was also a Canadian tax resident when she sold the property and failed to report any taxable capital gain to the CRA, that raises another concern. Personally, I don't know what advice to give you because you cannot avoid the source-of-funds question. IRCC will want to know how the money was obtained, and you need to be able to support your explanation with documents Even if the amount is below the foreign property reporting threshold, that doesn't mean there was no tax obligation to report it Anyone more knowledgeable on this can chip in, but I honestly don't see how you can properly explain the gift without your sister providing supporting documents, including her Notice of Assessment and evidence showing the source of the money even as a gift

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by emmatrack(m): 7:33pm On Nov 04 |
Just thinking; since the asset was sold in 2026 for which tax filing will be done next year, is that really a concern yet? amnotapervert: |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by amnotapervert(m): 7:47pm On Nov 04 |
emmatrack:oo it was sold in 2026 then No concern at all she can use it give you all the documents but she should report it on her April 2027 tax filing she has alot of time...now I can answer your first question But tell her to report it to CRA becase when she is applying for her citizenship this might come up she did not Declare foreign Asset (sale of property in nigeria) 1. Apply only when all your documents are ready. Otherwise, ask the school to defer your admission. The next intake should be around April/May. 2. Any money gifted to you must be properly documented. Your sister should provide six months of bank statements, an employment letter, and 2–3 years of CRA Notices of Assessment to demonstrate the source of her funds 3. Your sister should prepare a gift deed stating that she is gifting her brother the money, that it is not a loan and does not need to be repaid, and explaining the source of the funds (employment, property sale). Both of you should sign it, with a third party witnessing it. Ask ChatGPT for a sample format. 4. You can demonstrate ties to Nigeria through your employment, regardless of how small your salary is, and your family responsibilities. Since your sister is the main sponsor, ensure the funds available cover your full year's tuition and living expenses. 5. You are an independent applicant. You don't need to worry that IRCC will question why you aren't living with your sister. You are overthinking this. |
