@ aquatic thank u, @ excelsior... my fish are 6 weeks and 2 days i formulates their feed and i change water every 3rd or 4th day. tarpaulin pond size is 8x8=210, 8x8=260 (and also tell me how many can my pond stock till table size 8ft x 8ft x 3.5ft). how should i apply the tetracyclin and @aquatic would i move them out if i want to rewash the tarpaulin (though this is my second stockin o not first).

Get a big basin and pack them inside before washing the pond, the quantity u stock in each pond is not much, and it will create enough space for them to grow.

saheed,my advise is stop feed formulation for now ,because feeds that is not perfectly dried mostly contain aflatoxin which kill fishes,tarpaulin normally stores fungi & bacteria & normally have slime,it is best to clean with foam & iodine,but u hav to remove d fishes.concerning d use of tetracyline 3-4 capsules is enough to mix with water of about a feet high,this measure is mostly for extreme case of disease & when they cease to eat,afta 1Hr top up

by your measurement your tanks should contain 9000 litres and 6300 litres of water respectively, so from this calculation, you can easily get your answers, but adhere to the advise given previously

its isreali product,though with base also in ghana,better than any feed formulation u can make or hope to buy,i used dizengoff b4 & was cheaper & far better than coppens,my advise check for FCR of d fish feed u are buying,so cost isnt a yardstick to know d value of a thing,some are just names

Ranan feed is one of the emrging feed now in circulation, the company is from israel and they are gradually finding their feet in nigeria.. I have gotten a good report from some farmers who uses it... I attended a workshop organised by ranan feed last month and it was awesome... I intend giving it a try by next week...

From your info u said the fishes are 6 weeks and I wonder why u should formulate feed for them at that age...u will be suprised that it was the local feed that was doing the damage all along.. I suggest u start giving them ranan feed for your own good.. Ranan feed 2mm is 4500 while from 2mm upward is #4200...

Honestly speaking I have never heard of "AMS TOP FEED" before... How much is it and Is this your first time using it?

i started using local feed after they clock a month, i know a farmer that uses local feed all thru and he has result to show for it. i witnessed his last havest he feed once per day, and that's wat i do now. though any feed that is still lower and rich to wat i use is wat am lookin for. it cost me #272 per kg... pls great farmer in the house tell me what i should know this is my second season in the biz. less i forget, the mortality in my farmer has stoped. thanks guys specially to robonski, excelsiorfarm, ab1x and every1 that share his experience here. pls continue the good work we are loving it (especially the newbies like me)

Is there any other substitute for coppens that's very rich in content and costs less pls help

first off, using coppens for three months is quite impressive.. If u are not sure of ur local feed formular We wrote a good feed formulation and its analysis on this thread, i recommend u use it and see a bumper harvest.. Thanks

me i dey apply common sense, as soon as i see the water getting dirty in two days instead of three days, i know its time to sort

Sorting is as important as a good feed... Sort more thoroughly.. I sort at most from fingerlings stage every ten days, from juvenile every two weeks.. Sort them into sizes small, medium, and large.. Any small fish u see at the pond of the big size must repeat its class by taking the fish back to where the smaller ones are... And any big fish u see at the smaller fish pond, u have to quickly give such fishes double promotion to where its class is.. Its just like the school system where one has to repeat or be promoted... This is my mentality..

U are right, over feeding make water to be dirty because the left over feed will definitely dissove and in turn pollute the water... Especially local feed because it sinks..
