I have had enough trouble in my life till this moment. Not many people will want to exchange their life with mine even if they were promised a million dollars afterwards. To cut the long story short; i am starting life up again. I droped out of school, am not married, i don"t have a job, am still been surported by my parent....etc.
NAIRALANDERS this is the story of a young man i met today at church. pls what advice do you all have for this humble guy so that he can get back to his feet again. He admited of not even knowing where to start from not to talk of a means of making a living for him self. Your advice will be appreciated so that i can get back to him.THANKS
pls i want honest advice and solutions and not something to just make him fell good. i want him to see the world as it is....and then take constructive actions. PEACE

There is no age that a person can't start his life all over again. 30 is not too late to pick up his life and make something good out of it. The fact that there is life is enough to prove to him that hope is not lost. A living dog is better than a dead lion.

I wouldn't know how well his parents still support him financially. For a short term goal, let him get a little fund from his parents to start a very small scale business like selling satchet/bottle water and some petty stuff to raise money for daily survival. While doing this, he should be saving for a bigger stuff. He can as well be doing daily labour job on construction sites to be making money. He shouldn't be thinking about shame at this level but making a better life for himself. In short, let him look around him and find something to do to become independent.

The money he raises from his daily hustle can be partly used to get education. He is not too old to go back to school, it is very important. Even if it is part time.

Above all, there is a place of God in every man's life which cannot be pushed away. Let him commit his ways unto God and draw nearer unto Him and he will prosper.

Nawa to that guy o! Maybe he was one of those dudes u keep on advisin but he wouldn't listen. Op, how sure r u that he want to help himself? Has he cleaned himself inside out or is it societal pressure cos he is gettin older? Anybody can go to church but not everybody want to make a committed change requierd to be clean.

A man of 30yrs that said he don't know what to do with his life,has no vision is yet to reform,is yet to be responsible,is yet to leave his past life.
Help him start of,he will be a very big disgrace to u.
I know what I'm sayin cos I handled cases like that.
Take him away from his comfort zone first. No financial dependence on parents.
Parents shouldn't interfer. Even if it means working as a sales boy somewhere and paying his rents, from there u will know whether he want to grow up or not.
The rest will gradually unfold.

Don't we all get knocks from life from time to time? Is it ever just plain sailing? The important thing is, when you're down on your knees (luck), you get up, dust yourself, and forge right on, making sure you learn from past mistakes.

Where there is life, there is hope. Health is also immeasurable wealth. You're young. You've still got many, many more years ahead of you.

Embrace life and be grateful for what you've got. There are millions more, worse off than you in many respects.

Here education is not everything, the truth is he is not serious minded. Be that as it may, do not be in a rush with him. Let him answer his question and u can give him a lead. I don't believe there is an age limit for anyone to start over. All he needs is the determination to succeed in life.

Whether he likes it or not. He needs to get educated (I don't mean schooling).

He needs to do an introspective survey of himself. Look inward for his potentials (talents gift etc), then he needs to get good books that can make him maximise (financially etc) his potentials in that area .

By the way, I recomend he gets book on the law of attraction, so that he can understand how the universe works and also to help him change his thought patterns.

He needs to believe in himself.

In summary, he should find his gifts and talents and think about how to serve (servant leadership) those gifts and talents to the world (this is why I requested he needs to be educated). That's all he needs to be succesful.

They abandoned school because, they had to, just to safe their lives after all this cultist shit.
Fastforward now, I saw 1 in surulere working in a phonecall/computer centre. He was working for a young boy, I was so shocked he was calling that young boy sir! This is a guy that would have been a graduate ooo, earning big money.

Money is ruled out here so its not a financial wahala.
Infact he can start by doing restitution. His parents send him to school to read,make them proud by presentin his cert to them but this time with money from his sweat.
All these mummy boys that don't want to grow up. I partially blame d parents if not a 30yrs old man will not open his mouth to say he don't know what to do bc he is still eating free food.

My inspiration is my uncle who after 9/11 had his business crumble and he started life afresh at 45 with 4 kids. Went bk to school and was supported by his wife to get a new degree and get to work. The last time I saw him he just passed his exams to become a nurse practitioner at 55 years Los. Ol boi if he can do It your friend can do it too.

So all graduates work and earn big money? Do U know how many graduates work in phonecall/computer centres? Do U know how many graduates drive Keke and Bikes to earn a living? Do U know how many graduates are employed by non graduates? Do U know how many non graduates are actually doing so well and living better.. U obviously still think success, earning big money and doing well in life is related graduating from skool.
Doesn't matter why he dropped out from stool or what he did in skool. What matters now is the way forward.
