Preaching in the Bus is Spiritually motivated, also the sharing of tracks, morning cries and one on one preaching. Because Spiritual things are Spiritually Discerned, don't expect your carnal, fleshy or worldly nature to understand it, discern or even accept it (1 Cor. 2:14). The same way prayer is mysterious or seems foolish to my carnal or fleshy nature, the same way fasting is, so also is preaching. I understand that people are talking about rights to privacy, rights to anything at all that the world calls civility, my fleshy and carnal nature understands that too; and it sounds and feels strange to me too whenever it's done, but necessity is laid upon the preachers (1 Cor. 9:16).

It's very wrong and rude! People might want thier peace and tranquility, afterall you were supposed to have prayed before leaving home. How many times do you see Muslims rise up to preach in public transport? Religion should not an excuse to disturb.

I remember on holiday in Nigeria... AFTER WAKING UP 5am, and preparing EARLY with No Electricity for my Hair dryer..... I entered the so called 'Luxurious bus'..... EKENE BUS.... I took my seat and relaxed closing my eyes HOPING to Sleep after a celebratory lively night.

BUT NO SLEEP ALLOWED.. !!! The Preacher on the Bus DEMANDED DAT NOBODY SLEEP!! All Hands to be raised ! Shouting and Shouting !!

IT WAS A NIGHTMARE !!!! Over an Hour of FORCED PRAISE.. ! I had a headache !! He didn't care.. I refused to Sing, and pray with the other Passengers on principle.
1. the Bus preacher defied anybody to not obey God.
2, I may have been Muslim..he assume we were all Christian and said who ever refused to close their eyes and raise hands was an enemy of God.
3. The Shouting was violent and he didn't care whether people hand hang overs, headache or no breakfast. I was denied my human Right of PEACE and relaxation !! angry angry angry

Should Worship be by Force ??!! like gunpoint ?...... Had da man not been so INCONSIDERATE, LOUD AND DEMANDING I may have participated... It was an awful experience.....and of course he expected money, and I DID NOT GIVE 1 KOBO TO HIS BUS MINISTRY !
Re: Is It Wrong To Preach In A Public Transport? by yommy2sure(m):
People just have the freedom to noise pollution in Nig, I mean does it even seem morally and ethically right to disturb the peace and quiteness of other commuters who paid the same fare while in transit without their consent? Same goes to those uncivilized individuals who will enter a public bus only to start playing music from their devices, use a damed earpiece fool! Churches, mosques, record sellers, football viewing centers etc all seem to have the right to broadcast their sound to the whole neighborhood giving unnecessary headaches and isomnia to others. Its just not fair at all. Please people should get civilzed and stop this nonsense! Ejoor! Biko!

OlowoTee: That powerful name need not be abbreviated, please. If you could write every other word clearly spelt, pls let His name -JESUS be clearly spelt out too...wink. Tenks! cheesy
Likewise the word Christian. I feel sad when I see practising Christians writing the word as 'Xtian'.
When asked they will say it an abbreviation sad. Not!. This is not acceptable cos it is from the pit of hell.

I tell you. It's so disgusting and unacceptable. Christians shouldn't be cowed...and intimidated by folks who think we sound too spiritual/religious when we associate with that name JESUS.

It's appalling when you read posts on facebook, very well written prayers etc but with meaningless ending of ... IJN. It took me some time to comprehend what that keyword implied..

IJN ko, IJE ni. grin Truly, If People wouldn't abbreviate their names, then why must we abbreviate our Lord's name..?

it is better for them to preach and u have d right to either accept or nt compared to forceful conversion at gunpoint

Orikinla: No.
You can and should only preach where it is permitted.
It is not by force.
Jesus Christ never forced his message on anyone.
He never waged any war and never killed anyone.
He never preached any religion and never forced any on anybody
.
Well said!
Preaching in the bus is still better than forcing someone to accept your religion at gun point angry.
yes it is wrong, you should not force your religion onto people. Christian are the most hypocrite when it comes to religion. They'll start forcing their religion on you anyhow they please. But the minute you start talking about your non Christian religion, they'll start speaking in tongue and quoting bible to rebuke you. Bunch of hypocrites

BTW, I was born into a Christian home, so don't call me a hater
Wrong!!! You were born into a church going home.

Chaleeee: I think Christians have taken it upon themselves to abuse the fundamental human right of anybody irrespective of their religion. Everybody has a right to personal liberty. Thus before you preach to me, you must first seek my consent. That's what Jehovah Witnesses do.

I was on a bus from Obalende to Yaba ealier this year. While in transit, a woman wearing a "Chosen" vest brought out a battery-powered mini-CD player and started playing her pastor's message so loud in the bus. I warned her to turn it off but she ignored me. Since we were sitting on the same row, I grabbed her annoying toy and flung it out of the fast-moving bus. I pictured it shattering in my mind. She started ranting and I told her in a very stern voice that I won't mind assaulting her physically if she as much as lay a finger on me.
She alighted from the bus at the next bustop. Once she was off, some passengers started to voice their relief. And I was like "so una no like am too. Why una no complain?"
If she was to be a man could you have done it?

It is wrong. You need to know that the Bible commands that we preach inside and outside, in season and out of season. That man is an anti-CHRIST.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
Whoever that will want that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of truth is good and acceptable to GOD

NOT BY FORCE ! mtcheeew or should people put megafone by YOUR EARS while you rest or sleep...Whether you like it or not SOME NIGERIANS ARE *LOUDDDD, and by da way I own Church and my Church is not on EKENE BUS !! @ Rosamaris , while there is nothing wrong with preaching the gospel , one must learn to respect the rights of others ..i cant count the numba of times peop;e start shouting in the bus and condeming .... correct with luv while ur at it, the bible is for salvation not condemnation, try to keep it short succint and sweet, dont use ur gospel preaching to offend others, that action could make pople see jesus in you negatively

kismo: There was no instruction against it. So, I see no reason why the driver (even if he is muslim) should against it.
That's part of what Paul referred to " Satan resist us" There are those who don't want to enter the kingdom and will opposed ( prevent ) others from doing so. Jesus said when they resisted you in this village, just go another village. Christians are peace makers and not crisis makers. In fact we come to preach peace and it should be done peacefully. Christ said " I am meek and lowly " and " if any one will follow me, let him deny himself, carry his cross and follow me"

Don't stop asking. @ post, I find it disturbing. Are U telling me about Christ yet again or judging (that's often the tone). I doubt anyone has been led to Christ right in a bus on transit!
