Oghos1 says Moyes laid the foundation for the present day Everton. I don't know a person who boasts of laying a foundation after 11 years. When was he going to complete the project at that rate? You don't have to wait to see tonights game to arrive at the conclusion that Moyes was just a huge obstacle in their progress. The first three months of the Martinez area and Everton have list just ONCE in the league this season after 15 games. Doesn t sound coincidental to me. Martinez, I repeat, is an infinitely better manager in all ramifications that Moyes will ever be. |

elampiro: These are Moyes boys na. He gave them the fitness. Moyes have rubbished Man United and killed City severally in the past. He even finished 4th at a time.Moyes went to the Emirates And dominated like that? Did Moyes ever win at Old Trafford? United and Everton, pretty much the same team from last year, just a change of manager no we can all see the difference. Everton - from police football less than 6 months ago now playing tippy tappy with pretty much the same players. |

Just look at the transformation. Moyes has turned a championship winning side to Ofada rice. |

It looks obvious that it was Moyes holding Everton back. With Moyes in charge there was always going to be a ceiling, a limit to where he could take them. You can't say the same with this current Everton team. Martinez could eventually talk them to the top. Under Moyes they would not have brought in Lukaku as Moyes would have said he already has Fellaini. What exactly was Moyes' biggest achievement? Finishing the top 4 once and not making it past the qualifying for the CL Proper. That's it?even though Martinez got relegated, he has an FA Cup trophy on his CV. Not saying I would have preferred Martinez, just saying Everton upgraded the coach while didn't. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 7:49pm On Dec 08, 2013 |
elampiro, Moyes never won at a top 4 venue all his tenure. Martinez already has a headstart on Moyes in that area. How can you credit Moyes when almost the same set of players have made Everton the hardest team to beat in the Premier League? Martinez has picked up 4 points in the space of 4 days at United and Arsenal . I'm not sure Moyes has that total number of points in all his tenure at Everton against United and Arsenal away. |

Mr_TA: . Not saying I would have preferred Martinez, just saying Everton upgraded the coach while didn't.At this stage, wouldn't you look at Martinez? I mentioned that Martinez could have neen considered for the post of United manager at the start of the season. some said I wanted to turn United into a cup team. You only need to look at the contrasting styles of play between the two sides to realize that Martinez is more suited to playing the United way than Moyes will ever be. |

adebayo201: Huh! u r correct! but we still have to be patient with him! just for this season ni okeep being patient - when we miss the champions league & we can only attract substandard players then your patience will reap rewards. by then, half of our squad would seek greener pastures. you think those players would stay if we are not involved in those champions league games? chamotex: The only player Martinez spent money on tahrs currently playing in the team is McCarthy...the rest are loanees.gollum's brain cells have been replaced with ofada rice. no guts, no balls. he wouldn't have done what everton did today. after 1st half time, everton had more possession than arsenal @ the emirates. yet, martinez got there after moyes joined man utd. why is it taking moyes time to know the team & martinez is thriving. martinez has been able to impose his style on everton. moyes has not been able to do jack at old trafford - he's been losing games & has blunted our attack. |

How may times have barca Madrid and Bayern changed and they were in transition. The quality of our manager and players says it all. We are gradually turning into a mediocre team, a Liverpool of the 90s and 20s. Moyes does not have the acumen and technical depth to see us through this curve. We are just a thin line between maintain our status as an elite team and falling from grace to grass. If Moyes will continue as the team manager, he needs good assistants and he needs unlearn his football tactics and re-learn modern football at top level. Let's face the reality, we are asking too much of the guy. Can you drive a Volkswagen like a Ferrari, is Versace the same thing as tailor loran. If the guy wants to act like atop manager he is being expected by all to be, he will just run mad because he is not anywhere a top manager. Infact he is not even T talk less of top. |

^^^ even fergie advised moyes to retain the backroom staff but moyes wanted the glory for himself. he probably thought if he retained fergie's backroom staff & win the league, the media will share the glory so he sacked them & brought some of the most inexperienced, success-starved staff from everton. the result is there for all to see.... |

So people actually take d 'go n play' philosophy seriously??! And I'm supposed to be arguing with them? Nah. Don't think so. sum1 also said everton were unchanged from last season. Lol. From Gibson p neville Mirralas. Fellaini. Pienaar. Jellavic. Subs Naismith, anichebe and odas too shyte to mention. To Barry mccarthy Mirallas. Barkley. Pienaar/deolefeu LUKAKU. If that's not enuff change to cause improved performance, I wonder what is. D selectively short memory of some people leaves me dumbfounded. I doubt if any of u took time to watch everton while moyes was there. From no where u automatically know d tactics he employed. Talkin bullshii in d process. Everton have been playing exciting football for many years now. It didn't just start. But ur biased short memory won't let u remember. He took over relegation candidates and kept made them a top 6 club and that's how u people define stalling!!! I nr know say oxford n longman don make drastic changes o. Anoda tin many of u will fail to realise is that revenues in d pl have increased DRASTICALLY. And d biggest increase came abt just after last season. Consequence. Each club now has d resources to invest. Southampton, stoke aston villa et all. Results aren't coming and that automatically gives some people d ryt to be talking unfoundedbullshit. Don't get me wrong. I criticise him too. He has not covered himself in glory since his arrival. But these exaggerations and manufactured bullshii is whats just not ryt. Coogar was comparing him wit wenger just now as regards d subs issue. How he has managed to forget that moyes made prettu early substitutions in d last 2 matches is beyond me. Criticise him quite alryt. But do it in truth. Many people here go just dae folo people mouth. "Results aren't coming. People are insulting. Lemmi join" And they end up talking trash. Anyhw sha. Na una know. I said I wouldn't defend him again. Dis time I'll stop. Say what u lyk. At d end of d season we'llsee. D only danger in dis issue is that he may crack. He is already showing signs. Benitez did it at liverpool wit d conspiracy theory at SAF. Mancini cracked last season. Even mourinho. His recent press conference are beginning to suggest he may soon crack. And that's a purely psychological thing. ..and to thing that d psychological master mou fell victim to this is d ONLY thing I'm scared of. If he holds his nerve and does not lose his mind. Come may. We shall not be too disappointed. By dis. I mean he will finish as a top 4 team |

As soon as Baines went out against Liverpool, Everton created zillion of chances. They were just unlucky, else it could have easily been 7-3 win over Liverpool. |

elampiro: Did you watch the match Baines got injured? As soon as Baines went out against Liverpool, Everton created zillion of chances. They were just unlucky, else it could have easily been 7-3 win over Liverpool.what has this gotta do with the fact that baines has the deadliest delivery in england? the moment baines went out has nothing to do with everton creating zillions of chances too........there are millions of factors that could have led to that - maybe liverpool got tired, maybe brendan rodgers made the wrong subs, maybe martinez's tactical approached changed, maybe martinez brought in more attack-minded players to rescue the game, maybe the game stretched or maybe liverpool panicked. linking baines' absence to what happened in that merseyside derby is at best elementary & simplistic. football is a team game, not an individual sports. who does not know about baines' setpieces - freekicks, corners & crosses? leggo: www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2013/12/08/4463880/the-sweeper-anderson-asks-villas-boas-for-tottenham-transfergoal.com article is what you are taking as the gospel truth? goal.com is a piece of fecal matter. no direct quotes, no source, no reference - just the figment of a drunk journalist's imagination. even if anderson wanted a move, it's at a league game at white hart lane he would approach villas-boas? ![]() |

A-40:By bulking up I didn't mean get fat o. I meant grow muscles which will translate to upper body strength. And yes that's very necessary in d epl, d most physical league in europe. They've dethroned dying serie A. Ever wondered y his best performances come in d ucl?? |

dayokanu: Yet they cpuldnt do zilch in all Moyes time there.Everton has always given Man United headache na. Everton eliminated us from FA cup, they got a 4-4 against United at Old Trafford. Moyes lost 1-4 to City this season, whereas he has always killed them at Everton. |

StarBoard: At this stage, wouldn't you look at Martinez? If Moyes was the only other option, then yes, but Overall. No. Is till still it hard to believe we were unable to get any manager with a winning pedigree and experience in Europe to manage man utd. Even Fergie was hired based on his achievements, which included those two. What would be the achievements used to hire Moyes or Martinez? I like Martinez but he's not exactly perfect himself. One of his first signings was Kone who is pretty awful but he saw fit to spunk nearly £7m of everton's money on him. Think he also brought in Alcatraz, again another awful player from Wigan. I like the fact his teams play progressive passing football which he started at Swansea before Rodgers but he's also well known to be very clueless about defending and set pieces. Again, I'm not rubbishing Martinez, as in my book he is better than Moyes but I feel we should be aiming higher than those two to manage Manchester United. |

Coogar seems to only argue well when he is not being driven by sheer hate. Casestudy Rooney Jones Valencia And now moyes. Remove hate from d equation and he would make a very fine and extremely interesting pundit. |

Oghos1: Coogar seems to only argue well when he is not being driven by sheer hate.you forgot to add giggs to the list... ![]() all summer, i wanted rooney & giggs out. their replacement could have been ozil & herrera but we retained the quacks & now we are light in the middle of the pitch. i don't hate anyone - i just want to get rid of the virus in the club. i keep saying we have a very good squad, better than arsenal sef. however, with a clueless manager......man utd is now the same as barnsley. his subs are pure wäckness & his team selection is bereft of common sense. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Nobody: 9:03pm On Dec 08, 2013 |
Any neutral person that isjust hearingabt moyes for d 1st time will think he has relegated defending champions in 21 consecutive occasions. Chai. Cut down on d exaggerations abeg. We know u r pissed. We all are. That's no reason to lose ur sense of judgement. |

All these na English... Our problem is 85% midfield If Glazers can't sanction cash for two inflate-priced (of course) CMs that has ability to walk into this team, they can forget about all the awoof revenue they pocket every year |
