Firmware 1.1.4 has too many compatibility issues with apps. You won't vcatch me updating just yet.
Have u managed to solve the caller ID issue? The answer lies in tweaking appsupport, but I'm just too busy with work stuff at the moment.

you mean when you get an sms and it shows the number rather than the name? no, i havent solved it but then i can live with it for a while. beyond that, the only app i tried that don't work on 1.1.4 is customize and though theres a patch i don't feel it safe enough to implement cause from what i can see the patch will crash springboard as it is actually meant for 1.1.3.

besides i don't want customize.

ibrickr too doesnt work, saying my phone isnt jailbroken (it is). theres a patch at i.unlock.no but still i don't want to risk ibrickr jailbreaking and messing uyp my unlock.

also, i have been unable to connect with winscp on windows using openssh, but i do it on my pal's mac via terminal session. it worked when i was on 1.1.2. though.

and im stuck on 4.6    until 1.2.x comes out in june.

beyond these, every single app i tried works (although i uninstall after trying out as most are useless), the phone is very stable.


by the way, if you installed openssh, install services as well to kill it when not in use, cos that sucker drains batteries

Pity, really. we're on the verge of a mobile revolution come june when the SDk apps get rolled out. You'll be left behind with your nokias.

its quite easy to generalize when you expect innovation from the market/industry leader, only to have it come from the unlikeliest newcomer.

sadly i find the n95 as uninspiring as the whole pack of them. gps, wlan, 5megapixel are all old hat. give us new tricks ( like multitouch, almost desktop class software, ease of use, full webbrowser, best song management, best photo app, accelerometer, proximity sensor, 160ppi etc etc).

yah. but chinese touch screens are a mockery of the art. inaccuracy, nonresponsiveness, having to calibrate evry few minutes.
