Won't that be over liming? I thought cement itself is lime. According to a seminar I attended, the teacher said you fertilize the pond with animal or plant manure and leave it for some days. Then flush out the water, put new one and stock. From this, I infer that the purpose was to reduce the liming effect of cement, and probably any other chemical from cement. Fertilization reduces alkalinity.

bolapfish: hello house, good job we're all doing here, please i have a problem with my 3weeks fingerlings, in a concrete pond, they've been dropping drastically, dont even know the cause, it cant be the water because i've used it to grow a set of table size. i've used salt and keproceryl, i'm currently applying aquaceryl, still no luck, please help....

excelsiorfarm: check if your pond floor is slimy, if yes, u can clean with foam(clean & disinfected one), if you have spare clean tank, relocate them, check if u have excess or left over feeds in your tank, if yes ,remove, it reduces oxygen and result in disease outbreak, stop feeding for say a day or two, check your water height, is your pond location too hot, causes stress & disease outbreak. Since u had use medicatn, fast them in clean water , though aquapro wont do them any harm.
