fabregas is the heartbeat of that chelsea side. hazard adds nothing to them apart from the occasional flashes of brilliance which are far & few in between. if we intend to win against them on the 26th, fellaini or valencia must be designated to man-mark fabregas.

stop fabregas & you would stop chelsea from playing. rafael would easily keep hazard in his pocket. hazard has nothing to offer when he's marked by a pacy full-back. cesc is what makes them tick. he gives them a different dimension. how do you defend the pass that got chelsea the second goal yesterday? costa has 9 league goals already & 4 of them were fabrepass!

silva is at least 5 times better than hazard. the whoscored rating is a farce. hazard takes penalties - the ratings will not highlight that aspect like yesterday where hazard did little & scored a goal via penalty.

another reason whoscored rating is a farce is the fact that they base statistics per game instead of per minutes. hazard has spent more minutes on the pitch than silva in the last 2 seasons.

in a nutshell, the only time whoscored ratings should be taken seriously is for one game where the players compared both completed 90 mins. you cannot use it as an accurate statistical tool for one season where one player plays more minutes than the other.

fellaini is a good hatchet man to man-mark. he's tall & he's a bully. he has a way of making all those niggling fouls that will not attract yellow cards immediately. small elbow, little trips, shoulder barges, aerial dominance, etc. cesc has no pace - so it's not like he can outpace fellaini in a chase.

Only Maradona or Messi can do that. He did it many times last season bringing something special late on to win difficult matches.

If whoscored is farce? Then Silva's case is even worse with EPL best X1 (voted by EPL players in the last two seasons.) No one here can claim to know better than collective of professional EPL players.

Lastly, if Silva get subs, it means he isn't even so valued. He get's rotated with a player like Nasri.

chelsea players get into the box a lot & thus they win penalties. it's not down to hazard alone. what he did yesterday was the only positive thing he contributed in the game & that was it. if silva had done that, aguero or toure woulda taken the resulting penalty.

whoscored cannot quantify such differentials.



EPL XI is sometimes a popularity contest. we all saw nani outplay gareth bale in 2010/11 but bale anonymously got the award. in 2008/9 season, giggs was chosen over vidic, ronaldo, torres & gerrard. giggs contributed next to nothing & he won a sympathy award. there are other examples too.



if silva gets substituted, it's a testament to the quality of the city side. hazard would be lucky to get 20 league starts at city.......and silva will play every game at chelsea. hazard is so good but mata was chosen ahead of him as the player of the season.
