Why I Would Neva Touch Any Apple Product And Why You Should Too. by Nobody: 6:52pm On Oct 06, 2014
So so I bought my ipad thinking apple is was the best. Now I registered my device only to discover I could not buy apps in naira only in $$ which u have to have a credit card. Ok I was using the free apps. Of course I got bored and needed real apps. So I set out to jailbreak my device ios 7 by the way I searched the internet backed up my device and ran the jailbreak tool it was not successful so my device was bricked. Tried restoring my device itunes said I must download the update I did. I restored my ipad but I had wasted over 10gb of data. My ipad was realy locked down so. I tried jail breaking again this time successful so I was installing repos whateva that means I was installing app sync 7.0 wen the ipad froze again. Now it won't come up and I have to reStore the device which would take me to ios 8 and I heard ios 8 can not be jailbroken yet unless I downgrade to ios 7. Well let the thing start gathering dust cos I know I would use like 12gb to get it back. Apple is useless.

Mine own experience was even more bad......I mistakenly bought an icloud locked iphone 5s from olx.com, When I contacted d guy through whatsapp he said I should restore it.

I didn't know d Mad guy was lieing, after I took it 2 an engineer d engineer told me I will spend upto 30k to remove d icloud account of the former owner.

Now the phone is useless....

I can't even contact d olx guy anymore, he has blocked me from whatsapp and his number has been switched off since last month.

lmao. sorry bruv, u didn't get yo info right from start. u never upgrade a jailbreak on iTunes, it'll be locked yet again. and you don't shop directly from the appstore(not sure if this has changed). jailbreak means u have deflowered it for third party developers' tools only. and if you must use genuine apple apps, u must get access to another buying user's authorised computer and instal from his apps library

Sorry man...

I can imagine

Olx shouldn't really be anybody's one stop shop.

Maybe you should see if you can sell it to someone who wouldn't mind the icloud issue, it's just that you'd have to sell it at a ridiculously cheap price.

Personally I've always had a distaste for anything apple.. From their macintosh Pcs, to Ipads, Iphones etc.. Their compatibility restrictions are just too tight.

Android or Windows... That's the way forward.

sooner, icloud will be messing up a lot of indirect buyers big time. u try and fail your login, it'll erase your gizmo by default, no original owner's complaints/notice needed...infact, it's already here

And u won't Believe dis is d phone I bought for 48k after a lot of begging.

Pele.

Just consider it as a lesson learnt.

Instead of it sitting at home and gathering dust

You may just want to to sell it for that 18k

At least instead of waiting and waiting and just looking at it doing nothing... The more you look at it, the more it annoys you.

So just "dash" that person and collect the 18k

I don't know anything about d phone, I can't even enter into d menu or setting. D phone is stuck on d activation screen, and it is asking me 2 enter d gmail and password of the former owner.

that phone can be fixed using a very archaic screw and nut method. a phone repairs professional needs to open the phone, separating the battery and other parts(mem) for sometime, or even attaching bits of your phone to another iPhone bits for sometime and then coupling back...i wouldn't explain further than this, but this has helped in fixing gadgets that even the original products' helpdesks couldn't even solve

Oga. Park well

You had a bad experience. So what

You tried to jailbreak ur ipad nd itdint work out. So don't judge d ntire apple. Ahnahn. Did u have to spoil(jailbreak) the ipad. It wasn't made to be jailbroken. If u want to buy apps use ur master or visa card. Or if u kno sm1 cumn from uk/us. Pay dem to get u an applestore/itunes giftcard. Den load it lyk credit. Or u order d card online

On d other hand I think ot is d 10gb wasted that is doin u. If u had Wifi u wouldn't even complain at all.

Your issue stems from a lack of information concerning the iOS ecosystem..Your purchasing the ipad was because you hopped on the apple bandwagon without knowing jack about it.FYI,you can buy apps from the with any naira mastercard. The purchase would be charged in dollars and converted to naira in your transaction receipt.
What jailbreak tool did you run and for what iOS version because jailbreaking your device hardly gets it bricked. But in such cases, that is why you are advised to backup your device so you can restore it.
As far as restoring your device goes,if you were doing doing it with itunes,it shouldn't have taken more than 2gb of space(The ios 7 ipsw is less than 1.8GB.Now what repos did you install and what repo did you install appsync from?
Can you kindly state the steps which you took while installing appsync so I can know how to help you...

Also do you have a backup of your idevice and what exactly happens when you try to boot up your ipad? Please reply my questions so I can know what to do.
But in the meantime try booting into safe-mode by holding the power button and volume up button. If this works, you can go into cydia and uninstall appsync and try rebooting.
If it doesn't,we are back to phase1.However,I'd like to think you wouldn't need to upgrade your ipad to iOS8 for now.

P.s:Please pardon my writing,I understand that it may be a bit scattered,I am a bit glazed right now.

All this comes from a lack of information. The activation lock is so that thieves cannot use an idevice which they take.If you didn't restore the iphone, you could have returned it to the seller but by doing so,you just lost in all ways.If the person who sold the phone to you is the original owner of the phone, then you can have him remove it.Try calling with a different number or something..But if it was stolen then I am sorry....

Well I have to say 48k for an iphone5s is way too low so the fact that the seller was willing to sell at this price means he really needed the money or he was simply fronting a stolen phone. At the end of the day (48+30=)78k isn't really outrageous for an iphone 5s.
FYI,if I were to buy an icloud locked iphone,I'd only be willing to pay 15k for it.

Again bro this is wrong.Have you even used an iphone ever No offense,I am just utterly confused as to how your info relates to the problem on ground.Doing what you stated with an internet connection would simply get him to the activation screen which would request for the apple ID/email and password that the iphone is locked to.This is what is called the iCloud lock by the way.

@op u would even use up more data trying to update, wat u would have done after u brick ur device the very first time, u should have download an offline IPsw update file thats about 1.4gb or thereabout so anytime u brick all u need do is go to ur pc and restore from the offline IPsw
