Soldiers Shoot Selves •to Avoid Deployment To Boko Haram Communities by Shine1177: 1:24am On Oct 13, 2014
AS the battle to rout out Boko Haram terrorists from communities seized in Adamawa State continues, military source have disclosed that some soldiers and officers are inventing pranks to avoid deployment to the battlefield.

At the weekend, seven soldiers allegedly opened fire on different parts of their bodies and later claimed that Boko Haram terrorists shot them, but when medical examination was carried out on them, it was discovered that the shots were self-inflicted.

The army high command has also discovered that information about its strategies and operational road map in the North East were being passed on to Boko Haram terrorists by orderlies and close aides of commanders on the field.

It was gathered that some of the perpetrators of the crime had been arrested, while a board of inquiry had been set up to carry out further investigation, after which a court martial to try them would be set up.

The source revealed that many of the soldiers had devised means, so as not to be set for battlefield, while others faked strange ailments.

It was reliably gathered that the alleged attack on seven soldiers at the weekend were carefully masterminded by the troops, so as to look as if the Boko Haram, terrorists actually attacked them.

The source disclosed that when the soldiers were brought to the hospital in Adamawa, the injuries were fresh, while the bullets just pierced through the flesh to the other side, with no bone affected.

Nigerian Tribune also gathered that the troops had started pushing out the insurgents from the zone, with the arrival of the new equipment.

These cowards should still be sent to the war front

We are already winning this war yet this new act of cowardice is about to taint the gallantry shown by our soldiers

Please let the hope of peace strenghten the weak minds of some of our soldiers

I see it differently.
The soldiers are not motivated [financially, working conditions] enough
to die for their countries.
This attitude until now has never been heard of in the army.

How many foot soldier[dead or living] were honoured during the
national awards by President Jona?
Or how many get recognized if injured in battle?

But OBJ's son that was reportedly injured made headlines worldwide.
I strongly believe he was not injured in the first place. Just a publicity stunt.

And how do u think the soldiers saw that?
They would say:
Kai, we dey die since and nobody put our name for tv.
Now them don arrange Obj pikin for tv make e for be like say
na them dey fight the battle.

They are on the battlefield, their wages are not sent to their
families as they desire,
commanders leak info to Boko Haram and these foot soldiers
are still sent into the field AKA sacrificed.

NO MONEY, INCREASING DISCONTENTMENT WITH SENIOR OFFICIALS [ evident by d mutinies],
WIDOWS AND CHILDREN OF THE SLAIN NEGLECTED
my people what do u think these soldiers are?
ROBOTS, I guess

In as much as i agree with some of your points, i would like to state here that, they were not forced to join the Nigerian Army, they knew the terms and conditions of joining the Nigerian Army...

Soldiers like this should be shot if found guilty of this offenses...

Kudos to the gallant soldiers risking their lives to keep the rest of us safe...

This is the most idiotic statement I've read in recent time. This sort of trash can only be found in a Nigerian paper. Smh. How does "medical examination" tell whether or not a gun was fired at self by self

Nigerian journalist and their crappy writeups.

Where's the patriotic Zeal? Pls no MERCY!! anyone found guilty of sabbotage should be gunned down instantly!! Enough of this fowl play in the military!! Enough said .........
Re: Soldiers Shoot Selves •to Avoid Deployment To Boko Haram Communities by ugo4u: 8:18am On Oct 13, 2014
that is what u get when u sacrifice MERIT on the altar of god father-ism......... Most of those guyz just join the armed forces because it's a federal job, to some it is to show off Khaki and brrutalize innocent civilians buh when the call of duty beckons they will be lobbying around for transfer or engage in unwholesome act just to run away from battle.... this is the highest level of treason in military law and those caught should be court martialled with immediate effect, cos they are ruining the morale of others.

Some fearless men like us were never chosen due to Godfatherism.

Anyway, he who fights and run away will surely live to fight another day. Not one who was slain in battle field.
