To you it might be a peanut.... During oyinlola's firts term in office, he created what he called OYIN Corps, some were posted to schools to teach, some were posted to clean roads and stuffs like that.... Their salary was just #6,000.... I had a family that participated then. These corps were to serve for 2years after which they will be disengaged.
Now to OYES, its an empowerment programmes not a job! They don't go to work everyday, they have their working hours and you can get yourself another work with it.
They are paid #10,000 monthly. Some of them with NCE and degrees in education have been employed into the teaching service, thereby placing them on a normal salary scale of a govt worker. Some have been posted in traffic unit to monitor traffic on roads, we have some in charge of school bus and the ambulance bus.
This isn't the best yet... If the FG can do the same things would have been better off.

Secondly, it seems people are just playing with numbers. N5,000 multiplies by 25,000,000 elderly and vulnerable citizens gives you 125 billion Naira per month which is 1.5 trillion Naira per year

The Nigeria budget for 2014 is 4.962 trillion Naira, we are talking about spending 30.2% of Nigeria's total budget on phantom "elderly and vulnerable citizens" APC, daris God oh!!

6. This is actually a good policy, just as it is done in Thailand for rice and sugar cane farmers, if it is implemented, it will be a welcome development and boast agriculture in Nigeria however, this system is always abused. Read the case of Yingluck Shinawatra.

7. Again, money, money and more money... at this rate, Nigeria will go bankrupt in less than a year

This policies are actually targeted at trenches of poverty, the lowest of the low, we can't move forward by ignoring them, in fact we will be making the biggest mistake. Most of these guys have lost hope, you see them every "baba ijebu/lotto" kiosk, that's the only way to success they know and unfortunately they form more than 20% of our population.
