Interestingly Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is 4th behind ZlatanIbrahimovic, whilst other legend of the game litter the top 10 too.

Is Phil Jones fit to start against West brom? |

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal boosted by Ander Herrera return ahead of West Brom clash Happy return: Ander Herrera has been out for three weeks with a fractured rib Manchester United's Ander Herrera is ready to face West Brom on Monday, easing Louis van Gaal’s injury problems Ander Herrera is ready to ease Louis van Gaal’s injury problems at Manchester United by declaring himself fit to face West Bromwich Albion on Monday. United manager Van Gaal is expected to restore Phil Jones and Ashley Young to his squad for the trip to the Hawthorns, with the England pair recovering from hamstring and groin problems respectively during the international break. But Herrera’s readiness to return to action just three weeks after suffering a fractured rib during the Old Trafford victory against Everton is an unexpected boost for Van Gaal, who had anticipated being without the midfielder for at least another week. The 25-year-old, a £28.8 million summer signing from Athletic Bilbao, has trained at United’s Carrington training ground this week with the help of painkillers to overcome the ongoing soreness from the injury. Herrera is understood to have made it clear to Van Gaal that he is ready to play against West Brom, but the Spaniard is prepared to be guided by United’s medical staff and abide by their judgment on the full extent of his recovery. Van Gaal, meanwhile, must decide whether to allow Michael Carrick to play in a behind-closed-doors reserve team fixture against Burnley at the Lancashire club’s Gawthorpe training ground on Friday . Carrick is close to fitness after being sidelined for the past three months following ankle surgery in July, but has yet to return to playing action due to the lack of second-string fixtures at United. Burnley have arranged Friday's game amid concerns over the quality of their reserve league - the newly-promoted club do not compete in the Premier League reserve league – but Van Gaal is considering whether to use it as an opportunity to accelerate Carrick’s recovery ahead of back-to-back fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City following the trip to West Brom. United assistant manager Ryan Giggs believes the Chelsea and City encounters will be a test that could offer a true gauge of the team’s progress during Van Gaal’s first three months in charge. “These are the games you want to be involved in and play in, and they will be a test,” Giggs said. “Chelsea have probably been the standout team so far, with City just behind them, and we want to be up there testing ourselves against those teams. “We feel that we do belong up there but we perhaps haven’t shown it consistently this season. “We’ve shown glimpses over the last few weeks and hopefully we’ll have a lot of players coming back for those games. “The form has slowly begun to get better and better and we want to hit form going into those matches.” |

LvG said nothing in particular 2day except that we now have four players injured, Herrera could play and Carrick could make the bench on monday. I like it this way not saying his line up before games like before. |

Man Utd Transfer News: £48m Vidal bid MANCHESTER UNITED have been told to cough up £48million for Juventus star Arturo Vidal The Chilean midfielder looks set to leave Italy in January after a number of run-ins with the club's hierarchy, and Louis Van Gaal was hoping to wrap up a deal worth around £30million for services. However, Real Madrid are also interested in signing Vidal as they look to replace the outgoing Sami Khedira, and Juventus have taken advantage of the situation by upping their asking price by a staggering £18million. Van Gaal will be hoping he can still pull off a deal for the star after Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola revealed he would like to manage United in the near future. The former Barcelona man was linked with the job before taking the reigns in Germany, but could be set for a sensational switch once Van Gaal's time at Old Trafford is over. One player who feels it is his right to be in England is Radamel Falcao, with the striker revealing that his great-grandfather was born in Yorkshire. The Colombian also claims that he tried to get a British passport when he was 13, but was rejected by the embassy. |

Pep Guardiola: I want to manage Manchester United PEP GUARDIOLA has stated his desire to manage Manchester United in a new book. The former Barcelona coach was considered as a potential successor to Sir Alex Ferguson when he was on his sabbatical. Guardiola, who is currently contracted with the Bundesliga champions until 2016, says he imagines taking over the reins at United one day. In his new book 'Pep Confidential', author Marti Perarnau wrote: "A year before, in late July 2011, not long after a resounding 3-1 victory in the Champions League final against Manchester United at Wembley, Barcelona competed in the Audi Cup in Munich. "Pep liked the set-up at Säbener Strasse [Bayern's training complex], despite the fact that it was smaller than Barça's training ground and had fewer technical facilities. "The Catalan was impressed and told Manel Estiarte [his personal assistant] privately: "I like this place. I could see myself coaching here one day. Pep had said something very similar a few months before, at Manchester United. Champions League semi-final, Guardiola and Estiarte travelled to Manchester to watch their next opponent in action. "It was May 4, 2011, and the pair sat together in the stands of Old Trafford watching Sir Alex Ferguson's team beat Schalke 4-1. Once again Pep had turned to his friend and said: ‘I like this atmosphere. I could see myself coaching here one day.' "Guardiola has always felt a deep admiration, almost veneration, for the legendary teams and players of Europe." When asked about his aspirations to manage United, Guardiola added: "I am here. I am at Bayern and I want to stay two more years here." |
