Is Stallion Motors owned by government again. Must everything be about government and politics. A group of people decide to open shop to produce and we start questioning the means and motives. What is happening to us.

I buy certain equipment from the second largest economy in the world and industrial giant, China and they still boast of german and Japanese engines in some models to entice you. Their commercial buses are styled complete from the scrap books of Toyota. Are you saying that Mercedes Benz and BM plants in the US and Mexico are assembling cars that look like a Mustang and smell like a Taco. My friend. This is a logical, positive first step. It is you and I that will ensure that Stallion's Hyundai remains Nigerian by patronage and investment so that more value in jobs, businesses and taxes is generated.

Just out of curiosity why don't they EVER show pictures or videos of the ACTUAL car in nigeria when they make these announcements? That youtube video is obviously not it since it's a right hand drive car. SMH.....This is more confusing for the masses!!! How much? What safety standards were used as guidelines? How does this directly benefit the economy? Is there a local content requirement? etc....

If this is the same thing as the one sold in Nigeria then its a definite GO. Bluetooth, usb, aux jack, rear ac vent, steering controls, dedicated buttons for phone.. I mean this is full option. But I doubt if the one sold here will come with these options, we normally get the trimmed down models.

You don't seem to understand how manufacturing works these days. No country manufactures everything. The Hondas, Toyotas and Chryslers you drive all have vast supply chains with different components drawn from manufacturers scattered around the world. When they tag it made in Japan, it only means assembled in Japan. Airbus for example has over 2000 suppliers of different parts of a plane around the world. The fixed wing is assembled in the UK while the rest of the body in france. In our case therefore, its still very much made in Nigeria and will create jobs here which is what matters most.

The parts are 'Made in wherever', but the cars are 'made in Nigeria'. Nigeria has been importing brand new Toyotas 'made in South Africa'. Do you think those cars are labelled 'Assembled' or 'made' in South Africa.

That should be the high end model. I think what they are offering now is basically the base amd mid-level models. Even some high end luxury sedans of Toyotas, Hondas, Nissans, etc don't come with such perks.

An Enemy of progress, even if all the parts were imported, for the fact that it was assembled here in Nigeria by some Nigerians is a step in a positive direction. if u can't recognise progress when u see one u can go to hell where nothing works cos u don't belong here...

Hmmm just for those stuck on the made in Nigeria issue... In your opinion where was the car made? Sure it was designed in Korea (I believe) and assembled in Nigeria so going by your logic, this car has not been made at all even though it exists. Lol

I think the main point here is that having this production plant is great for our economy in more ways than one.

A car manufacturer will employ from a country with per capital income of $3,000 (Nigeria) than the one with
$58, 000(japan) and $38, 000( south korea) respectively. even if it involve training the Nigerian staff, since they will provide low cost implications

Nigerians don't produce car components like side mirror, bumper, head light, steering, dashboard, car stereo,gears, seats, car body, radiator, fuel tank, seat belts, exhaust, kick starter, alternator.
What we produce are things like fanbelt, carpet, and car wash soap. I said 99.9 % because we import things alot and even the importation process is dominated by foreign labourers.
