When I first saw some questions and bible discussions on Nairaland while I was searching for a site with good bible scholars, whom I can discuss with and see what they have to offer, I found Nairaland. I believe that to be sure of my faith, I need to objectively see what others who are not in that faith has to say. By so doing, I will weigh and see whether am to cherish what I have or to reject it. I saw other sites that I was not able to be a member of. To some extent, the discussions here have made me do more research on bible topics, something that I enjoy so much. What about you? Have you benefited in some way? Did it make you reevaluate what you previously believe in, and in what ways? If your doctrine lacks sufficient scriptural support, I think you may not succeed so much here. You will only receive doubts in your mind, but that's a good thing. reevaluating the reason for our faith is good. (2Cor. 13:5) |

For me I derive fulfilment in being able to use this section to share to true gospel of Christ with thousands of people who regularly visit this section. This true gospel is based on love and his greatest and most important commandment is to Love one and other as he has Loved us. This is a point most professing christians miss whilst they give a lot of attention to the more mundane issues and even man made injunctions like tithing that bear no relevance to christianity. I have also enjoyed using this platform to decimate to good news to fellow believers that contrary to popular teachings in some churches, a christian is under no obligation to tithe but is encouraged to give freely as he purposes in his heart. 1 Like |

Dux01: What makes you think it is not the personal benefit they derive from the proceeds of tithes that makes them preach the obsolete doctrine? If they have truly prayed and the spirit of God is ministering to them, they would know that the tithe doctrine contradicts the gospel of christ which is based on grace. Think about it, how come the new testament christians never tithed neither did the apostles teac0h any of their converts to observe the obsolete jewish practise. |

This religious section needs prayers, it has turned many christians to atheist. I thank God for my life, at a point in time this section made me hate God, but now am back. All glory, honour and thanksgiving be to the father of our Lord Jesus Christ. 6 Likes |

Many of the lords believers have been sharing the written truth from the bible on this page. And still you that tithe, have not looked up any scriptures given' by our lord. but still prefer to argue about certain verses in the bible? Every verse has a story to it, don't just read one verse but read the story. But all I can see is the blind leading the blind who tithe. Listen the people who are writing to you on this forum, are speaking the truth, they are trying to help save your souls. Don't be fooled by these prosperity preachers. By any preacher-pastor who preaches on the tithing messages. Open up your heart, and allow the lord to show you these truths. Everyday Christians are entering HELL, why? because they chose to follow that other doctrine on the tithing law. I pray you will seek the truth, save yourselves and others around you. Dux01: |

@brocab.yes.you just read the the story.the pastor's did that too.reading the story would not make them tell u to pay tithe.The Holy Spirit used the verse to tell them that even now it is still important.you just read it logically as i said earlier on.The bible is much deeper than just the story.you need the Holy Spirit.i believe pastor E A adeboye is a man of the spirit.i know u think he is deceiving people.i also believe that dr d k olukoya is also a man of the Spirit.i believe these men Hear the voice of the Holy Spirit because they said so themselves.be open minded.i also believe kumuyi is a man of the spirit.The Spirit has ministered to them to pay tithes.all over the world men who are lead by the Spirit are led by him to pay tithe using mal 3 10. |

Dux01: Are these men you just mentioned more of the spirit than Jesus, Peter, James, John, Paul and all the other apostles that Jesus mandated to establish the Christian faith Are you aware that none of them ever preached, collected or paid tithes? Are you aware that tithing was first smuggled into christianity over 700 years after the christian faith was established and even then it was still agric produce? Are you aware that monetary tithes from income was introduced to christianity as recently as 1893 by American evangelical churches. Are you aware scriptures had to be twisted to justify this type of unbiblical tithes? Are you aware the the tithe doctrine flies in the face of the gospel of christ which is based on grace and states that salvation is absolutely free?1 Like |

i know you won't believe me but just read this first none of them have ever attached tithe with salvation.but you must obey God because he is asking for it.not because he needs it.he just wants to see if you can release what he has givenu to bless you more.and second.don't you think that all those apostles NEVER preached against tithe.they never made any connection btw False prophets and tithes. |

Dux01: Can you define God's tithe for me as stated in scriptures and compare it with the twisted and fraudulent one preached today? God never asked anyone to tithe money from their income, it is ignorant and fraudulent preachers that twists God's word to say so and as you know it is a sin to twist God's word. |

Yes it is important for your pastor to receive tithing" its a wager, not from God, but from man. Ephesians 4-25 Therefore, putting away lying, each one speak truth with his neighbour, for we are members of one another. V's 28-The lord say's Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labour, working with his own hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. So if your pastor follows that command, then no-one will have any complaints. Sorry I don't your pastor E A adeboye, and I don't think anything bad of him either. But Psalms 49 may answer your question on who's going to Hell, and those who don't. And if you must know,without the Holy spirit I know nothing, it is the Holy spirit who leads me to the truth. the religion section of nairaland is a place where you find funny and informative arguments. all things being equal, i like and enjoy being here. it makes sense to know what people say about ur beliefs and objectively do a re-check so as not to be among d rising numbers of the misinformed. I think d ignorant are better than d misinformed. i also bet anyone with weak emotions will regret ever coming here. buh d section helps in sharpening up and know things u wouldn't have known otherwise. i dey help seun sell market e do abeg. one more thing, Dux01, u no dey hear word  .
