In africa where almost everyone is one shade of dark or another, its silly to keep parroting tall dark and handsome when referring to a black man.

Please refer to your cultural standards of beauty in this regard.

Traditionally, tall is not one of them, neither is dark and neither is handsome ( unless you are a nilotic).

you can say tall dark and handsome, I'm just pointing out those are white terms used to describe white men, not blacks.

tall, handsome black man would probably be more accurate if thats the criteria you use when searching for a man.

I don't know where they got that "tall, dark and handsome" from, probably too much "mills and boons" and harlequin novels.

Most of the male leads in the novels are tall, dark and handsome, with flowing locks. Some were blonde, some may have been red.

I remember one which I read many times as a kid, the heroine was a lady whose male interest was a chieftain of some sort, very handsome but I'm not even sure he spoke much English, and he was very traditional as well, didnt like western culture and all that, although very rich. The lady didnt speak his language either.
